These are delicious and juicy. Do you grow them in your area? Scuppernongs and Muscadines are some of my favorites fruits. Do you grow them in your area?
I had a great grandmother living when I was young, she had a big yard. Up behind her house was an old shed and next to it sat a pear tree. When the pears got ripe I can remember going to visit, and hearing those pears fall on the tin roof. She had a grape arbor, too, growing the old Concord grapes, they were real dark purple with a dusty grayish coating on the skin. So you walked through that into her vegetable garden. She grew green beans, snap peas, potatoes, corn, squash, and all through the garden, flowers. All through her yard she had plants and bushes, shrubs up next to the wrap around porch,in the front of the house. It was a site to behold when everything was in bloom. She had a small back porch, with a little chair with a cushion in it, where she would sit and break up beans,or peas. She was a small woman not even 5 feet tall. She had 8 children,6 girls and 2 boys. She was quiet most of the time but when she talked, you listened. Inside the house the main parlor was in the middle of the house, just past a dining room. There on the mantle sat a old clock and it tick tocked ,and I would watch the pendulum swing back and forth, while the granny rocked in her chair. The rocking chair would go squeak squeak and the clock would tick tock, it was real soothing and quiet. I'm glad everything is good in your yard. The memories are sweet. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
Thank you Brenda for sharing your beautiful self, soul, thoughts, wisdom, family, life, home, spirituality, work ethic, humor and optimism with us. You are truly an inspiration to behold! I’m sending much LOVE to you ❤️.
Love how you share your beautiful place and share your sweet memories and teach every chance you can. I wish we had those beautiful Carolina Wrens up hear in Iowa. I hear them in the background. You have a sweet spirit. Love you sister Brenda.
Good morning and thank you for the wonderful walk. Your property is beautiful, so inviting.🌻🌸 I love to garden and this year I've rooted quite a bit with success, now I'm harvesting Zinnia and Marigold seeds for next spring. I'm hoping Jesus returns before then but His will be done🙏✝️ Have a blessed day, so glad all is well after the storm.❤
I got all of your cookbooks recently. I can’t wait to look at them and try the recipes. My niece asks years ago for all my recipes and cookbooks when I passed away. These will hopefully be her cookbooks one day for her and her daughter to use and enjoy. Love you Brenda
Hi Brenda I love this video. It's amazing that you have all this energy to plant all these flowers and plants. You know all the plant names is also amazing. Thanks for sharing your beautiful yard with us. I also love your antique house its so cute. I would love a tour of it if that's possible.
You know we're making memories of all sorts each day,so its great to to set and plan, and build in our mind's. I enjoy reviewing the memories once and awhile. Thanks sis for sharing yours❤🤗🤗😗
I enjoy being with you Ms Brenda, i have all 3 cookbook and i sure have enjoyed looking at all the pictures. But i been making your soups for my chapter. I love walking around your yard.Have a bless day, with Jesus. ❤
Good morning, Miss Brenda. Here in the north, we don't typically see scuppernong growing, but I've eaten it before, and I do enjoy it. I surely enjoy the walk in your yard. I really like old antique house. You should give us a tour inside sometime. I love ya and God bless y'all.
Your swing reminded me of our River house we purchased. The wood on it had weathered and looked beyond repair. I sprayed 50/50 water and vinegar solution on it. Let it sit for 15 minutes then rinsed. You wouldn’t believe how that wood came alive and almost looked brand new. It was almost like it was resurrected❤. Love your latest cookbook!!
We call by your well mud robbers in Kansas. Totally enjoyed you walk today. I have 1 and 3 cookbooks. My second one is in route. Love them all. You are such a joy Brenda. Have a good night.
Learned something new yet again😊! Never heard of these before. I’m too far up north for that type of fruit to survive. Busy time of year for apple orchards and pumpkin patches where I live (NW Indiana close to Chicago). Autumn is a beautiful time of year here but we all dread the next season ❄️☃️P.S.Super cool bench with the beautiful ferns; along with old house & swing!
Charlotte Hamilton from Lexington North Carolina. The rosebush that’s not blooming very good, put some coffee grounds or liquid coffee on it and I am sure it will start blooming.❤
I love Keiffer pears. Used to have a lot of those trees around here. Most are gone due to subdivisions being built on the orchards and farms. They are the best. Cannot find them at the stores either.
I love finding a wild muscadine vine and shaking it or picking them off and eating them like that. That pear looks delicious. You have a fun yard that you're able to walk around in. I live on a hill. I guess i could roll down it.😆🤎
I've been sick for a while and had a high fever today. I think I would like the muscadines. I love your story of Dallas's bench. I wonder if he were to move it in one peace that it would not hold up. I've had a a tough time but I'm I was so glad to see you today. Friday 9-13 2024❤😊
Party Dress is a pretty white flowering plant that blooms late summer/early autumn. Also the Autumn Clematis vine. Gave pieces to daughter who lives near Birmingham and plants are thriving well there. Enjoyed the walk with you down your memory lane.💖 Blessings to you and yours.
I think I ate those before. They look so good I wish I could eat one! I love to eat eat fruit off the tree! I did that walking home from school my whole childhood! I knew every tree along the way, and it was several miles to get home. 🤗
