😅👋🏻 hellllllllllllooooooooooo
it's a great idea to add song lyrics like that! I haven't added words to my drawings in ages but this is really making me want to try it 🥰
Ooh you should!! Glad it gave you some inspiration ☺️ thanks for watching!
Wow so very nice to drawing on sketchbook and all so fantastic drawing my friend
Thanks so much 😊
Really enjoyed your video, Sally! Whenever I have artist's block, I come up with BIG projects thinking it will get me excited enough to draw again, but instead, it only paralyses me with anxiety. Your video reminds me to incorporate play into my art practice and loosen up. I have a beautiful sketchbook that I've not touched, and now I'm thinking perhaps it's time to let go of fear and open it up.
Thank you for your insight into your process! I can definitely relate 😅 I started a regular sketchbook practise about 18 months ago and it's helped me sooo much to just get things on the page without the pressure of making a whole "finished" piece. I think it's time for you to start that first page 😉♥️
Thanks so much for sharing your Pinterest board -- I've recently started a small (3x5) sketchbook of only hands and feet so I'm sure that I'll find lots of cool references on your board.
Oh you're so welcome!! I did 100 hands to finish off my last sketchbook so a lot of those are in those pins. I was thinking of doing feet at some stage, I know @lilstarnerd has a foot (or shoe I can't remember) board if you search for her! Good luck!!
Great ideas. I’ve been thinking of getting Pinterest for the channel and haven’t. You have motivated me to do so. Thanks girl 🥰
You're so welcome!! Thanks for watching and I hope it helps you out ☺️ I love having specific curated boards for certain subjects and projects, makes me a lot more organised!
That's really cool
Thank you so much!
I’m the opposite :P I’m haunted by lyrics (and quotes), and captured by the images they conjure in my head. Much of my art is accompanied by a quote. (Not all, the weirder stuff is just feels oozing out and sometimes relevant lines apply afterwards, which is a method in itself)
I was halted by the task of artfully incorporating those words into the art itself (because I’m a perfectionist around fonts *cry emoji*).
But I can attest, peeps, this is definitely a method for overcoming blocks!
You are exceptionally skilled with drawing fonts and I’d even go so far as to request a video dedicated to fonts 😇👉👈
Maybe particularly in the context of overcoming a fear of “ruining” your piece with it, because surely that’s a common block
That's why I don't do backgrounds 😅😅 I don't know why I have no hesitation with adding the words these days? When I simply freeze at the thought of adding something I consider a "proper" background 🤔
I was actually thinking of you when I mentioned that, about finding inspiration from words. I'm so blown away by the art you create!! I know you want a font video but I wing it most of the time so I am yet to figure out how to make that into a video 🤣
Thanks for your insights, always ♥️
art block is a bitch. i suffer from writers block more so than art block but equally as frustrating. keep it up😊🤍
Ooof nothing worse than getting some time to create and nothing comes to mind! Do you have any tips for writers block?
@@sallytownsendart whenever I get writer's block, i like to put down the pen or laptop and go for a walk or something like that so i can reset myself and try come up with a way to carry on the story or start the story. I find that walking around while i think is a good way to get decent ideas
@@mentalmcguffin great idea! A change of perspective truly works wonders ♥️
