Chris, your compass is moving around because the ferrous metal in your rifle is affecting it - 1m from mags riles etc, 10m from metal fence and 100m from armoured vehicles to get an accurate bearing. You may now slap yourself,

When the most metal is directly near the compass in form of his rifle and gear. And besides that the ground is coplanar to the compass so it wouldnt even effect it even if he were standing on a metric ton of iron.

3:34 Fabi's American flag patch is on the wrong side of his helmet. To be on that side, it needs to be mirrored so that the stars are on the right side of the flag. It's proper flag etiquette for the stars to be on the front-facing side of the flag, so that way the flag is always moving forward and never back.

For games in the woods, you should paint the barrel of your gun to look like a tree/bark so when you hold it up against a tree, it'll camouflage a little better.

Don't Hold your compass so close to your body. My guess is that the metal from your magazines sent the compass spinning. I once did that on a hike in the woods and got so confused. Luckily the sun was out and I used my analog watch and the sun to find south(Point hour hand at sun. The point between the hour hand and 12 is south if you are in northern hemisphere. The farther north you are, the more accurate this method is.)

Couldn't you use Google maps at an event like this. Because if people are near a road you could see their rough location using the traffic feature. It's how I found a group of people who were causing trouble up my road and I live in the middle of nowhere in Ireland. Just a spooky idea 😎

If there is iron in the ground yes your compass will be useless.
Next time bring an analog watch and use the sun and the hour hand to find true north.

'hardcore' airsoft players are the main ones I and lots of others don't like. They have a weird pumped up ego and get off on dressing up like they're active military, in reality they're just simple minded adults playing dress up like kids.

When using your compass hold it away from your body. The metal on your kit will distort the readings of a compass so hold it out or set it down to look at it.
