    Dinosaurs in the main land was one of Michael Crichton's ideas, and they couldn't even stick to that premise in Dominion. This is one of the problems I have with Dominion is that not only does it ignore the ending of Fallen Kingdom, but it also ended the exact same way the previous movie did where the Dinosaurs are still in the main land and it goes against the whole point of the first film where Humans and Dinosaurs can't live together.

    • @bradwhite5884
      @bradwhite5884 2 месяца назад +16

      Dominion did not move the franchise forward, they should of stuck to the Malta plot a bit more and expanded on that more, the Dolomite plot is just like another "run from dinosaurs on an island" but it is in the mountains instead, story could of been a lot better, but only way for the franchise to move forward is to ditch all the island stuff and just leave it for crucial plot tbh, I think Chaos Theory are going a good job on that then Dominion tbh, so yeah

      I still have no idea how Dominion put dinosaurs all over the world. Some escaped from the mansion in Fallen kingdom (a dozen dinosaurs in one location) then there’s somehow a black market in Malta (who’s even making those??) and an isolated park in Italy. How the fuck did walking dinosaurs make it around the planet?? Did I miss something or was this never explained?

    I feel like DX is the most natural fit. The synopsis feels very much like a "lets take the best unused parts of the Lost World novel and make a movie from it" to me, and I'm all for it.

  • @Rodrigo_Vega
    @Rodrigo_Vega 2 месяца назад +27

    Bad writing happened. They wrote themselves into a corner. The premise would follow that we have a messy post-dinosaur future with chaos all around, maybe Cadillacs & Dinosaurs / Dino Crisis "dino-world" setting in which humans are the underdog in a world where nature got primal and wild. But someone got cold feet and thought that's not the iconing setting of the "Jurassic" franchise, so they "have" to do the same thing over and over and the only thing they can think of is undoing the previous movie... because it had consequences.
    It's Resident Evil movies writing. Where each movie clumsily un-does whatever wacky over-the-top ending the previous one had, so nothing really matters for any movie. They just hit a reset button and tell a different story with new "epic" escenes each time.

    • @jackhummer8344
      @jackhummer8344 2 месяца назад +8

      I feel like dinosaurs are actually the underdog in this case, not the humans. If you reintroduce dinosaurs to modern environments, I actually do think many dinosaurs would die out because this world is just not created for them. Not to mention the humans that would either kill them for being threats or try to exploit them for profit.

      @@jackhummer8344 I would mostly agree with you, except that's not what the J. World media established. On the contrary, they make it quite clear, dinosaurs are actually doing super. They run wild and proliffic next to regular animals and are now everywhere. That's what was happening at the end of every World movie, series and video game and it's an interesing idea! "People now live in a world with dinosaurs."
      And we are like "Ok! sounds great, what's next?" and they are like "Scratch that, dinosaurs all died off-screen" and we are like:
      "Ah, really? Uh, sure." It's underwhelming and sad.

    • @jackhummer8344
      @jackhummer8344 2 месяца назад +2

      @@Rodrigo_Vega I mean, Jurassic World media absolutely established that mankind is a huge threat to these dinosaurs. We saw the underground market in Dominion and Chaos Theory also established the underground smuggling ring. Honestly, the most damage we see these dinosaurs causing post-Fallen Kingdom was actually the result of humans using these creatures for their own means.

    • @Rodrigo_Vega
      @Rodrigo_Vega 2 месяца назад

      @@jackhummer8344 We see humans being mean/dangerous to individual dinosaurs. At no point are these activities framed as an existential threat to the world-wide continuing existance of dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are depicted as having massive reproductive and adaptive success, _despite_ the human threats that have also been there since day one. So many species are spreading so prolifically there are special "safe zones" that _seem_ to be the only place dinosaurs are _not_ found. In Jurassic World evolution, there are costant missions of dinosaurs being spotted or causing problems all around the world, in every kind of biome. What kind of event short of a total ecological collapse K-T style could ever drive each and all of these species again to extinction? It's just silly. And this is just the "canon" side of the questions. My real question is in the production side of things. Why did they choose to the write things this way? did anyone _want_ dinosaurs to go extinct(ish) for the 3 time in the franchise? Wouldn't the alternative be more interesing to audiences?

      You think Velociraptors are bad? Wait until Rebirth most likely reveals what lengths InGen would have had to go to with DX. Case of point, the island location. It’s fun to imagine what Grant, Sattler and Malcolm would had thought if they knew the hidden context of Hammond’s geneticists accidentally bringing back a dangerous prehistoric virus when cloning their dinosaurs. I think when they say it's the ecology, I believe they are also referring to the animal's food sources. I am probably going to be referring to this movie as just Jurassic Rebirth, and since most of the dinosaurs are dying off across the planet the world part of the title seems pointless. I personally would love to see them make spinoff movies about other extinct animals being resurrected via before/after the Dinosaurs, and they did say that genetic power had been unleashed. It would be amazing if they took advantage of that line from JWFK, and it would help expand on the JP universe. I really hope this new film will be good, and brings the franchise back. Also.. JP3 is underrated, and I know it isn't perfect but it definitely isn't that bad of a JP movie.

    I think It may be doable with a new disease depending on how is done. So in this new movie the characters come across something that was hidden for decades, what if it was like "InGen found a ancient disease in one strand of amber mosquito blood (it was like one in a million chance). They awakened the pathogen and insert in some of the animals to study, but it eventually passed to humans. Every human on the island died due to this outbreak, but the animals survived and had to come in isolation with this disease. The characters find thst they were trying to weaponize the pathogen but never came through since everyone who knew about is dead. Unfortunate, someone ends up contracting the pathogen and eventually it gets to the mainland and from there you have the sequels (sorta like the newer planet of the apes franchise)". NOW, if they manage to pull this off is gonna be great, but I'm still cautious optimistic

    I agree with this interpretation because sure, it got cold enough to snow on occasion in some areas during the mesozoic but the world was a lot warmer back then. Not to mention there absolutely not enough food for herbivores. There were no vast open grasslands back then. So I can see some dinosaurs surviving in temperate areas, maybe they are migratory, but most big dinosaurs would have died from starvation or it is just too cold for them. Much like putting a polar bear in a desert, it is like putting an elephant in the arctic.

Regulating breeding cycles and hatchings gaining enough weight or feather coverage before winter sets in could be an issue.

    I actually liked this part of the new plot, I think it makes sense that the dinosaurs are slowly migrating to tropical climate areas of the planet, plus in future movies this could play out really well, imagine a story set in the amazonas, or in the jungles of africa, or asia! However it also presents some questions, like if Rebirth is taking place on one of the 5 deaths, how the hell the dinosaurs migrated back there from the mainland... or who would tansport them back there?
    And I have no clue why they couldn't get DNA samples from BioSyn or InGen....
    And Why do you have to get DNA specifically from the largest dinosaurs? This sounds really cringe in my book, like a video game quest or a saturday morning cartoon plot.. Hopefully it will get explained.. ^-^
    And Jesus... I really hope that the 'dark sinister shocking discovery' will not be Curt Connors from Spiderman lmao 😂 I mean... no dino-human nonsense please...

    I agree but remember these creatures aren’t what they should be… let me explain. Most of there’s cloned dinosaurs where ENGINEERED to survive the habitat where they live. Obvious the Ingen dinosaurs would die because they were genetically engineered to live at tropical places and that explains it. But what about Biosyn dinosaurs? Like the Pyroraptor,the new parasaurolophus and quetzalcoatlus? This where living there whole lives in a sanctuary with lots of biomes and they survived. That means that not ALL the dinosaurs left the north and south parts of the world, only the one created in the islands.

  • @deceptionz_
    @deceptionz_ 2 месяца назад

    I think it would be interesting to see that the island is full of animals from the iceage like they did in camp Cretaceous so that they can explain that they can live in every enviroment across the earth. Like the ice age ones in cold and the dinosaurs in warm climates to show that they have invaded every thing

  • @Tyler_W

    I don't think they're connected. I think the migration is just natural migratory behavior in an attempt to adapt to their new environment. I definitely think the secret is a prehistoric disease, though. The way to work around it not being relevant in Dominion, however, would be that the disease isn't actually out in the wild yet. It's contained in an inGen biolab research facility where they did gain of function research on whatever they dug up with the prehistoric mosquitos.

    I am thinking the whole gathering DNA for giant dinos will be the first 30-45 minutes of the movie. Just a plot point to get a mercenary group stranded with a family on some island. Hoping for more horror elements as we watch this family struggle to survive and the mercs find a heart trying to help them.
