Motor swap first then the paint. You don't want to scratch new paint during a swap

Old engine out, engine bay paint, new engine in, then paint the rest of the car?
So many options but the last one here seem to be the most logical, disclaimer I’ve 0 experience but it does seem to sound right. Loving this build so far 🔥

Bro don't forget the most important part (The straight cut gears) which gives that whine sound , it's expensive but you gotta do it for us bro

Danny I recommend finishing the body, sand it down and have it prepped for paint, swap the engine with new mounts just to test fit, then take the engine off again and send to paint. I know is more work this way but youll be able to paint the bay as well and just be able to put the engine in w/o modifications

The trunk hinge bolts are rocking . And latch play . Move latch down to press frame against seal tighter .
This is a filler episode 😂 love it thou. Also think you should engine swap before finishing the body. Engine swap can be complicated and sometimes u have to take apart the body to get it right

Bruh, I seriously can't wait to see this thing painted, with the wheels and tires, hopefully you either got the 333HP inline six, or the 4.4L 414HP V8 from the M3s for it. Still, it looks so good up to now!
best v8 to swap in the e46 is the s62 from the e39 m3 it sounds very similar to the original, is easy to swap and theres supercharger kits for it that look absolutely mental

You should do paint then do the engine swap so you can paint the bay. Just make sure you give the paint plenty of time to cure and be extra careful when dropping in the new engine so you don't mess up the new paint job. Good luck with the build, really been enjoying the content!

14:30 A tip I saw thicwhips do on his E92 M3 was metal bonding a metal spacer or something along with the bolt to add more rigidity to the wing. The gts M cars have a system that connects their wing to the trunk hinge but sadly that’s not public info
The taillights that te original nfs mw car had are the ones from the “facelift” 330CI from 2003 by the way
And you could search the exact m3 e46 mirrors in marketplace or something like that

Makes sense to swap it before paint bro, engine out, paint bay, engine in and then full repaint. Saves any scratches/re painting 👍🏻

V8 is original option and sequential gearbox cuz you know how the bmw sound right? It sounds like there is whining sound it is from gearbox but gl for finding this gearbox

I know how you feel bro, I have ALWAYS wanted that car as well. I own a 2013 E82 128i, but someday I'd really LOVE to build that car, and mine would have to have the 4.0L V8 race engine that made 493 HP, but mine would also have a turbocharger added to the mix.

Bro you should’ve done the motor swap first even before the body cuz the body lining could get a bit messed up during the motor swap imo. After the motorswap the body and then the paint then wheels and voila a perfect car

For the swap, I’d take the motor out, paint up the engine bay, then swap in the new motor after the rest of the car is done

i give you a note that before doing exhaust make it on side so it will be more original like
EA can't copyright strike your bodykit even if it's exact replica, because that's a real life bodykit of a real life race car that raced in early 2000s, but it's okay, those accurate GTR M3 E46 fiberglass replica bodykits must be very expensive!

You DEFINITELY have to swap the engine before paint. Can’t risk scratching it. And if you paint the Bay that’ll be even better before putting the new engine in
