You are a life saver. Couldn't figure out why the auger motor stopped all of a sudden and it's because I accidentally disconnected the flow switch hosing. Thanks! Saved me from spending over $100 on a new auger motor when I didn't need to.
great idea posting a video and thanks BUT... there are missing steps and video/audio cutoffs. If this is the way it was recorded then so be it... but if you have the entire video can you edit it to fill in the blanks/ Again.. thank you for posting this is I have to repair my auger/motor/bushing, etc.
Thanks for the Video, I replaced the auger motor in my Whitfield with a new one from Whitfield last year. My problem is that now I cant slow it down enough even at the lowest setting. I was hoping to find a way to reduce rotation of the auger.
I recently bought a SP22 Maverick pellet stove. For $40. Needed some repair. Bought a new augur motor. The problem I'm having is. Where to wire it up to the wire harness. The control switch and everything is fine. Just don't know where to connect the wires from the motor to the wire harness.
1. Make sure you buy the correct auger speed and direction. No way to turn down the speed by much. 1 rpm clockwise rotation facing the shaft. There are other exact looking auger motors that turn at 2 rpm. There is a "trim" adjustment on some of the stoves, but no way are your reducing it 50%. Buy from a good company. I had my "second" motor only last 8 months. The original lasted 15 years. Never take apart the gear part. Tons of washers and gears will fall out. 2. My glass has and always gets dirty on my Whitfield. I bought mine in 1996, I have only replace the auger motor (twice). First one lasted 10 year (with one $.05 fix) That's all. Yes, I have outside air. 3. I have a UPS on my stove to protect it from zaps and power blips. Maybe that's why I have a 1996 original stove ? 4. Buy the best (.5 ash) pellets. Unless you only use it for looks, the better pellets create a lot less ash. I only clean mine every 3 weeks. I bought some cheap ones, never again. Every week was cleaning time. 5. The different Whitfield makes have different area in cleaning. The baffles are sometimes hidden. The parts seem mostly interchangeable.
I was just given the exact stove for free. Any tips or things to look for? Also. I cant find the room blower. I found the combustion and exhaust fan. But cant locate the room air fan
It seems like that bushing should be a bearing, to me. If it is loose and spins, can it be epoxied? My auger appears to be in the wrong direction, I don't know how that happened, if it is a problem or not. I see it move a little when the auger is activated, I suspect that must be related to my problem.
Auger stuck: Cheap pellets. Have heard of branch parts, too long pellets or plastic from the bags getting in by the company or user getting stuck in the auger. A worn bearing can also do it.
Hey guys got a question. My whitfield pellet stove has a new auger motor and it worked fine until 2 hours ago... turn it back on the stove heats normal for about an hour then the auger just stops putting out pellets?
Any tips if your auger won't budge? I removed the motor thinking that was the cause, and it still can not be moved. I cleaned out every accessible space around it, still will not budge. It can not be turned by hand or with a tool, it can not be forced out of the stove(and believe me, i used quite a lot of force).
I bought a stove with a similar problem. The pellets had obviously been exposed to water and had swelled caused the auger to seize, ...and then rust the auger to the auger shaft. I used a large wood dowel and a mallet to break the auger free. It was necessary to apply force diagonally to the lower (exposed) portion of the auger. Once I freed the auger, it was necessary to strip the rust using grit brushes (for the auger) and a flue brush (for the shaft.)
Good information, but I find myself hanging on your words but your editing be like, “ so you’ll need to install the scr...” “next you will need to check the bushing for any signs of we...” haha
i have a quadra fire pelet stove and l have a problem my stove shut off time to time by her self,i keep it very cleen regulary, clean it every day every day the same like u showing in this video some time the blower stop and the stove shut down after i push the reset bottom and start working i fed up from this stove,l can not count on it,but l used all the time and now have a problem the store hier in saint jerome said u have to replace the blower and is not easy to fined it do u thing this the problem? or what? can u help me please$ and to get the parts too please thank u
everything works on our pellet stove except the auger. bought a new auger but it still wont run. can we run the auger manually with that test cord and put it on a timer maybe?
Most likely the "back pressure" switch is bad. That switch checks for pressure from the chimney from a clogged chimney. The pressure switch is in-line with the auger motor power. Check for chimney blocks or broken/loose hose to the pressure switch. The auger motor has to be controlled by the control panel as different heat settings will speed up / down the auger motor going on/off to drop pellets.
I'm not sure how to advise you. We don't often offer technical advice of this type directly but can get you answers from the factory technical department. Please direct all inquiries to our email address thru our web site info at WoodHeatStoves dit com

Do you have a picture of the wiring for the augur motor hook up

Hi there, I know this comment is from 6 years ago, but have you found a solution to this?
I also need a solution!

How did you remove the motor?

How can I know which one is the power in the auger motor

I believe that is one of the snap disks.

Bushing is made out of bronze not brass.
Too many skip overs at important points
This is by far the worst vid that I have seen. Just as you get to the bits that we need to see, the vid jumps on to another bit.
torchyboyz agreed!!!!!!!
Good video, just too many cut off sentences and steps taken
Did you let your 8 year old edit this
Are U drunk?
