This is a rather unusual 8mm/super8 movie projector that was produced by Kodak in the early-mid 1970s. In as-found condition, this machine works miraculously well.
the previous owner of this house left behind two projectors and boxes of movies and reels. some are great like bela lugosi movies and tons of cartoons, woody wood pecker, bugs bunny, etc. but there was one box that had nondescript reels with titles like "teen nudist volley ball" and some i can't mention here.
What bulb does this take you said 30v 50w.. all I can find is 12v 50w.. as soon as i turn it on the bulbs burn out.. my grandma passed and I wanted to watch old videos she had.. any help would mean a lot to me .. tia
These movie decks are notorious for failure due to a plastic gear that is on the shutter. The gear is responsible for pulling the film through the projector. The teeth on this gear crumble. The projector will sound perfectly fine even though this has happened. models 435,455,475,477 all have this issue. I am not sure if the sound models have this same plastic gear. There is a company in California that rebuilds the shutters. If you are handy with tools and are mechanically inclined, you can possibly repair it yourself. I would have someone shoot a video or take lots of photos as you disassemble it. Here is the web-site: www.kodakprojectorparts.com/KodakMD.html
If it really wasn't blowing air while it was on that's your problem! You'll just blow another bulb next time you get one. All projectors have fans blowing on the bulb!!
I had to run a series of aging reels through this unit for a close family friend before he and his wife passed. Some of the reels were over 60 years old, and loaded with splices. One reel had breakage issues (the film itself, not the splices). When the film broke, I'd simply rethread and run until the next break, and fix the rest digitally. It worked, and the family was able to enjoy these films with their parents before they both passed within one year of each other. Unfortunately, the longer we waited to run these films, the risk of them being lost forever due to age loomed even greater.
Movie projectors are soooooo much cooler than modern multimedia that has no moving parts.

The 465 I'm working on now has that same silicone stuff oozing out of it. Trying to figure out why it wont take the film

Do you still missing the instructions from inside the cover? I have one, I can send a copy of it if you need it.
How was the transfer to DVD? How did you do it? Thank you.
I have this works fine but seems like part of a film melted into the lense on the inside anyone know how to get to it to clean it
at this prpjektpr is npt projektor feeling!
Don't use it if you've got a film with a lot of splices..which by now are peeling away.
