    The Dubstep Doomsday Device:
Still basking in the afterglow of the Kryptonian gig, aspiring Metropolis DJ Skril-lex Hoofer seeks to elevate his drops to a Kryptonian level of grime. Sifting through the wreckage from the show, he uses a blown Kryptonian subwoofer and some of Zod’s bodily fluids (you don't wanna know), to brew up the embodiment of Kryptonian dubstep; the Dubstep Doomsday Device. Unbeknownst to Skril-lex, the exact same method by which the Kryptonians destroyed their homeworld. Ignorant of the true bass-potential of his new creation, Skril-lex unleashes it onto Metropolis.
Local resident Boomerman gets the fright of his life, resolving to put a stop to Skril-lex's gig, despite buying his condo with full knowledge there was a venue nearby. Unfortunately for him, noise control stopped taking his calls years ago, so he storms down to the venue in a huff to complain in person.
Farm boy CK is back, brimming with confidence after surviving one rave, he naively makes his way to the front.
Boomerman is forced to defend himself after accidentally stumbling into the ruck pit, discovering too late that no one seems to be able to hear him, let alone care about his complaints. He really didn’t think this through. He did do the right thing by bringing a mask along, but the few times he put it on, he wasn't even wearing it properly. The damn thing was getting in the way of all the yelling. Eventually coming across his niece, who knowing what her uncle is like, pretends to have fallen victim to the concert as well.
Skril-lex eventually realises this gig probably represents an existential threat to humanity, but resolves to vibe through it anyway. A make-a-wish foundation kid is the first casualty, when his electric wheelchair overheats just before the bridge drop. Bad timing little dude!
CK, who already preloaded before the show, struggles to remain conscious after making the mistake of accepting a doob that was going around. Luckily, a more experienced veteran offers to shield him.
Just as Boomerman was losing hope of ever getting to sleep before 10pm, retired gangster, Grandpa Picard, unwittingly saves the world, when he comes out of nowhere and puts a swift end to that racket with a few bursts from his kryptonite-infused tommy gun.

Might I suggest a similar analysis of Amanda Waller is warranted? Her response to the question of “What if Superman tore the roof off the White House?” involves “recruiting” a linebacker with a skin condition, a clown with a hammer, and a thief with a gimmick, but only after ensuring that their cooperation can only ever be under duress.

    • @iglidor

Funny thing is... recruiting these weaker criminals is smart move. Because you simply can not safely control someone with power like superman. I mean look at the mess with enchantres. She tried to controll being that was too strong and it backfired horibly. On other side keeping bunch of mutants, mercs and regular crazies and using them as canonfodder is something that is within her ability to manage.

The hair, and him being called "Lex Luthor Jr." was a nod to the fact that, during the 90s, Lex was inhabiting a clone body (His original died of Kryptonite-induced cancer) and claiming to be his son, also called Lex. The clone body had long red hair. This was, of course, the look he had during the Death of Superman storyline, which this movie is partially based on.

    • @TheRodg43
      @TheRodg43 3 года назад +17

I think people saying that that made him realise Clark had a mom was only an excuse 'cause clearly he kind of figured Superman had parents hence the phrase' I bet your parents taught you you mean something that you are here for a reason' (echoing Jonathan's words in Man of Steel) 'my parents taught me a different lesson: dying in the gutter for no reason at all' (clearly pointing to the fact that his parents' death were the exact opposite than for a reason, they died pointlessly and absurdly) 'they taught me the world only makes sense if you force it' (this shows us that Bruce is a man without faith, he is the God of his own mind, reason and world)... And then when Clark says Martha it obviously reminds him of his mother's absurd meaningless death and when Lois says its Clark's mothers name something snaps inside of Bruce. I think Zack Snyder here was trying to create a parallel between the Roman that pierced Jesus with the spear because he was ordered to make sure this false god was dead, and when he did water came out of Jesus into the Roman and then he was 'touched' by the holy spirit, found faith, and then went on to spread the word of Jesus thus helping create Christianity (similar to how Bruce is inspired by Superman and goes on to recruit the JL).. The chances that this alien would fall into Kansas and be adopted by a woman with the same name as his own mother are slim to none.. And thus Bruce believes once again that things happen for a reason.. I concluded all of this only thanks to the Snydercut when Bruce expresses twice to Alfred that he is working strictly out of Faith.

Trivia- So apparently, David Goyer was working on the script for "Man of Steel 2" when he got a call from Warner Bros. informing him that they want to do Batman v Superman instead since the first MoS didn't do as well as the Batman movies.
Goyer had previously worked on a WB committee that looked at different scripts and story ideas for the DC universe going forward (that ultimately settled on "Batman Begins"), and he had rejected a script from someone else for a "Batman vs Superman" movie, saying at the time that versus movies are where you go when you run out of ideas.
So, his "MoS 2" script now obsolete and the deadline still unchanged, he just went back and got the "Batman v Superman" script he himself had jettisoned, changed a few details to make it fit the MoS world and set up Justice League, and that is where this movie comes from.

Zack snyders whole reasoning for making lex like this was because he took "inspiration" from early versions of lex aswell apparantly birthrights incarnation of the character. Something that if you exposed yourself to said materials you'd was not even remotely true. Early lex was definately hysterical, but he was also smart and it showed, he wasn't jittery and stuttered as he spoke or forced candy bars into peoples mouths.
Lex in birthright was an ego driven individual who grew up with clark in smallville and desired to constantly better himself and prove himself better than others and treated those he deemed lesser than himself with contempt and wanted to be a superman himself, but once superman treated him indifferently and did not acknowledge his superiority lex chose to make superman his enemy.
In dawn of justice lex is shown to be a jittering dotting individual that doesn't have the drive or air of arrogance his birthright and main universe counterpart possesed. His reason for killing superman is simply he wants to prevent Superman from becoming some kind of worldwide dictator that will be a threat to humanity, but goes ahead to create a rampaging monster to kill superman aswell as in the ultimate edition allies himself with a conquering god that wants to attack earth and in the end is shown to be a completely insane man talking about bells ringing and demons coming. So far the plan imagined by Lex that I find to be the stupidest is the one from Superman Return (2006). (spoiler duh) So his plan is to grow a brand new continent and sell the land to countries. The problem is that's not how ownership of land works. No individual on the planet technically owns land, instead it is countries that grant rights to "own" the land in their territory, but given a sufficient reason, any land can be taken back by those countries without any reparation toward the previous owner. So basically, Lex plan to create a new continent would create an incentive for countries to go conquer it, wage war upon it and control who has the right to owns it, be it individuals, corporations or public offices. As for Lex, first all the countries would laugh at him for his claim over the land and secondly he would be declared as enemy number one and tried for crimes against humanity for destroying so many lands. Isn't Lex supposed to be a genius or something?
Also, do note that the same reasoning can be applied to Lex plan in Superman (1978). His plan is to sink California's coast to form the new west coast. If this plan worked, the US would give the finger to Lex, assuming they couldn't prove he bombed the fault line, seize all this new valuable land from Lex because they can and its an emergency and Lexcorp would go bankrupt for losing all this land.

Oh gods, that shade at this version of Batman being an 8-year old was hilarious despite it kind of applying all versions. This video was hilarious in general though, so thanks.
Speaking of Batman, the one of most baffling things about this mess of movie is how the "Bat-Brand" is a supposedly a death sentence in prison. Like...why? Given this Batman is clearly an unhinged lunatic at this point who actively murders people, why would *any* prisoners go after anyone with his sadistic mark that they wouldn't already go after, like it added any extra stigma to them? Especially when Batman has doubtless put many more prisoners he didn't brand in the same prison? If anything, then people with the "Bat-Brand" seem like they should get a bit more clout or street cred and have a slight easier time in prison given they were "chosen" by this Batman, which seems like the exact opposite thing he wants or that's happening.
To say nothing of the fact that if "Bat-Brand" *does* work like how it supposedly does for completely irrational reasons and is setting prisoners up to be murdered, then this version of Gotham PD is *tacitly sanctioning a murderer.* I mean, more than they already are in this universe, but in a more provable, public way than Bruce's late night killings. This is especially true since the Bat Signal is shown to still exist in this universe, and it's not like Bruce's murderous crimes and encouragements should magically go away by time _Justice League_ lurches around as much as it and Snyder's fans want to pretend otherwise.
Gods, the DCEU is such a god damned mess.
