to make you even more mad, many of these projects, especially most prominently and PROVEN, the qatar statium and bridge, used slave labor, aswell as non slave labor of people being paid less than 8 cents an hour
True…and that is problem #73 with dictatorships….you can get stuff down quickly, if rich and politically connected, but no one can say no or mention the project is a bad idea. So both the good, and many bad, projects get started if the dictator wants it.
@@tommarntI don’t know anything about that particular project, but there are definitely con people who specialize in “big projects,” where they over-promise and get a ton of money, then start a little with cheap materials and then claim technical or other problems stopped the build. They then keep much the initial huge funds and any money they can get from selling off high quality building material, and knew fro the start they weren’t going to actually complete the project. Or of course, there is old-school corruption where contractors promise a high quality project, then cut corners and switch to cheap materials for the finished build, and keep the difference (of not caught or prosecuted).
The Sagrada Familia is still under construction. There is no reason to think that it'll never be finished. Cathedrals just take time. Especially with the way Gaudi designed it. He didn't want it to be made of concrete and drywall.
It took nearly 200 years to build Notre Dame, and over 257 years to build York Cathedral. One century to build a structure like Sagrada Familia is pretty quick work.
As a kid I can remember my parents taking me to see the Xanadu house in Wisconsin. For a kid, it was awesome, almost like a big playhouse! Everything was built in, all curvy lines, but how could all cement furniture be comfortable? You would probably have to spend so much money in padding for the furniture you would end up bankrupt! Still, it was cool, and it’s a neat memory to have.
Well, it probably was just for show, if anything else it'll probably be optional choice to say how you would like the house to be or if anything really just demolish the interior part for actual furniture.
Because there actually still technically working on it paperwork and not marked as unfinished yet that's probably why it's not on this list is my opinion but who knows.
@lonelyman1967 it is but not legally on paper so technically it's not abounded according to property laws and etc. And taxes are still being paid on it
The story of Nefrefere had me going...albeit a sad circumstance, when the narrator said "the pharaoh with the tiny pyramid"...I couldn't stop myself from chuckling 😅
You said Xanadu didn't materialize, when in truth it upgraded and has been out ever since. you can have one of these houses made for you for much cheaper than a normal home. Concrete dome house, made with reinforced steal frame. You can cover the entire thing with a layer of grass too. I was one of Xanadu's visitors a long time ago. I still think the idea is great, especially if you have to deal with hurricanes or tornadoes.
I've been to Boldt Castle, it's a pretty amazing place and it's builder, George Boldt was a real American success story, it's sad his wife died so soon. The small castle like structure you pictured here was NOT an outhouse, it was the pump house and power plant for the island. It was seeing a picture of that building that drew me to Hart Island.
I know they script it to make it sound like it's just one guy, but Be Amazed is run by a company that has researchers and writers and I believe at least 2 narrators. Funny enough, despite their narrators having distinctly American accents, the company appears to be based in the UK.
First of all, sending food consistently will cost around 2x that of most of the world's military budget. And seeing how we have like nearly a billion very hungry people. Not only do we have to stop most of the critical care shipments like Oil and materials to just meet the minimal demand for food transportation. If we wanna feed all hungry people in the world then we would have to only give them 1 meal since if we made go through three-course meals then it would dramatically reduce the efficiency of feeding and increase cost. Royal Caribbean already has a hard time supplying food to a lot of people in just 7 days, imagine the world taking on this. Travel expenses, food preservation, paper work are just too much.
We actually have a building here in central Florida that has been under construction for almost 30 years. It is called the Majesty building and it is in Altamonte Springs, Florida, just north of Orlando. It’s nicknamed the I-4 eyesore given that it is right next to Interstate Four.
Wow. It only takes a combination of mismanaged finances and unsavory rumors to spoil the construction of ambitious megaprojects. P.S. Congratulations because your channel finally reached 12M subs.
This channel is like a collection of dog farts airing out over tasty food. Especially since it's avatar has always been a dog face. Too bad they gave him a bloody nose. You can literally taste the dog farts coming out of all the pretentious narration, but the videos themselves aren't bad.
Regarding the Turkish fairytale homes…If were to complete the basics in the homes (windows, insulation, communications, HVAC, plumping, electricity), and roads and the public utilities, and then price these at starter home prices (substantially less than $100,000), I’d think about buying one and finish it myself. Yeah, they might take a short-term loss, but they might develop a thriving international immigrant community that could add to the Turkish economy for centuries. Right now it is just a millstone around Turkey’s neck.
I can't believe you said that because I 100% Agree! Every time I see videos like this and all the money it took to BEGIN The Projects and Then never to have finished them! And they are still planning to finish them! No matter how much money it Takes! I don't see how that is more important than people's actual lives that have No Home or No Means Of Support Whatsoever!!! People go without Food, Homes, A Roof Over Their Heads AT ALL, BASIC NECESSITIES, etc. People Close Their Eyes To The Poor And Needy People, Families, Children, And Animals! I'm So Greatful to know someone else feels the Same Way As I Do! GOD Bless You and Your Family! Merry Christmas! 🙏😇👼
27:22 I actually went there for a trip with a group a few years ago and Heart Island was amazing! The story of why Boldt Castle went unfinished is both tragic and sad, as did the fate of the castle. But I hope that maybe one day, someone will finish the Boldt Castle and dedicate it to the couple that had planned to live there years ago. I do often wonder how things would've turned out if Louise had never died and her husband kept the construction on their home going? I think it would've been their happy home, and later became a museum of sorts. Well, it's a museum of sorts for tourists.
That last one, I wonder if he really was the one who told Moses and Aaron he will not send Israel away? Unlike those Hollywood films, this pharaoh died in the Red Sea along with his entire army!
That could make sense, the timeline might possibly match up. But what doesn't match up is how his mummy fragments got there if they were washed away. Was his body possibly recovered? And if so, how was he in his 20s as the Pharaoh Moses and Aaron went against would've been older? Also, the Pharaoh mentioned in the bible was name Rameses. Are they the same person? I see where you're going with it, but that just opens up so many more questions.
I'm at a point in my life where I'd live in just about anything. The squatters that took advantage of that huge abandoned financial building had the right idea.
I love your vid they always make me happy just tardy I threw up about 5 to 6 times in just one day and you made my day so much better keep doing what you’re doing
Staten Island NY also has fail Mega project. A Ferris wheel was supposed to go up....10 years later its still a massive construction site next to Staten Island Baseball team.

Man, if only China were better at building and financing stuff. As long as they don't fund something even dumber. I wouldn't be surprised if they did though. Sometimes, it's better to ask if you should.
OMG, the amount of money wasted could have funded so many really practical and useful things.
i heard that saudi arabia are trading materials from their unfinished buildings to other people (IIRC)

Because there actually still technically working on it paperwork and not marked as unfinished yet that's probably why it's not on this list is my opinion but who knows.
@hollyedwards4789 From what I heard it's abandoned.
@lonelyman1967 it is but not legally on paper so technically it's not abounded according to property laws and etc. And taxes are still being paid on it
The most amazing thing is how much money is wasted or stolen to prevent the general public from having even remotely decent lives
Ahhhhh, it's been a while since we saw this (of course) unfinished series! 😃
The story of Nefrefere had me going...albeit a sad circumstance, when the narrator said "the pharaoh with the tiny pyramid"...I couldn't stop myself from chuckling 😅

I was going to say it sounded like a way too good of idea for that to be trash and specially to be easier to have than a house these days.
thanks for adding this info! I knew there had to be some evolution or progress made from this project.
I heard at one point world of warcraft gold was worth more than the Venezuelan currency. So was runescape gold
The tiny castles are actually cute. Move one to a larger property and it would be much better
Juy
Yeah. I would live there.....if it wasn't in Turkey.
On its own it's fine, but 700+ identical ones all put together like that? It's pretty vile.
@@megachonk9440 yep, it looks pretty bad like that and they are all the same color. Would be confusing at times to find your own house.

Oh no. In fact I would bet the majority of the money was pocketed due to corruption.

Hey everyone, How does he make such quality videos so quickly?
There’s probably a small team working on them and he narrates
I know they script it to make it sound like it's just one guy, but Be Amazed is run by a company that has researchers and writers and I believe at least 2 narrators. Funny enough, despite their narrators having distinctly American accents, the company appears to be based in the UK.
Because they're an awesome team 😊
I would say, minimal amount of research in each part of the video. Or a team of ghost writers with a few pieces of recycled parts.
The people that built this wasted SO MUCH MONEY😮😮😮
5:08 I'd say around 2070, given the amount of construction done in the last 100 years.
On that timetable, they still have 40 to 50 years to go.
Could you do a video about micronations? I would love that!
American Football is more like rugby if you ask me. Visited Sagrada Familia ages ago and its true
The money wasted could solove world hunger
"solove" 💀
@@KandFOfficial 'solove'
No, it would not because that just means more people will be born and prices would increase for food due to more demand and less supply
But then, the money would have to be DIRECTED towards world hunger! As it stands the money was designated for Epic Failures!
