- A little known fact: Ecuador is full of interesting expats from all over the world! They come from Europe, Asia, North America and other Latin American countries with backgrounds as varied as their reasons for making the journey here.
In this series, Jesse Bayer takes you all around Southern Ecuador to meet with some really extraordinary folks. These people are modern-day pioneers who've chosen to leave their home countries in pursuit of a better life. In addition to their luggage- they bring with them their skill sets, mind frames, and their love of living life freer and healthier than they previously could.
This week, Jesse sits down with 10 year Vilcabamba veterans Anubuddha and Anasha. Both of these former Osho followers and creators of internationally acclaimed Arun Conscious Touch healing modality live in this community for part of the year and travel internationally to teach and practice the other part. They are a golden asset to our community and we hope you will enjoy watching their interview as much as we enjoyed interviewing them!

I have lived abroad too, for many years, the US, Europe. What I cant tell you is that the furniture in Cuenca is way better and more quality than any place in Europe. It may be a bit expensive but it worths it

What riches of genuine, gentle, loving energy shared from them! I love how you let them just "roll" with it, Jesse...and yet you gently nudged the conversation along very meaningfully here and there as well... Yet, what nice energy nourishment for you to give us a whole hour of just hangin' out...and enjoying all of the splendid heart overflow that splashes us over and over here. Just people who are used to being and sharing from the depths of their being....being and sharing so freely as you've invited them to do here--how delightful! = gladdest, grateful-est grin = Maybe much of my appreciation comes from the deeply instinctive and innate sense that they are part of my "tribe"... my "peeps"... and "kindred spirits" and souls of "light minds"... like I "just know" where they're coming from...and can hear their heart "loud and clear" though shared so gently and joyfully... just bubbling along like two "in sync" happy "streams" who happily "flow" two-gether--as one! = admiring smile =

Great interview. You are correct in saying that people who watch this are considering the move some day. My wife and I both grew up in SoCal, lived for a few years, and now live in Texas. We think it's time for an exploratory vacation to southern Ecuador. Keep on, keepin' on. You are selling that community well through these videos. :-)

Their life seems happy...I guess there is hope in spending my remaining years at my homeland...How much is it to rent over there.....great video...
Yes, this is a wonderful place to live! Rent depends on the type of house or apartment you are looking for. It could be $300/mo for something basic or up to $900/mo for a really nice home.
This video warms my heart. I’m an artist looking to shed a mantle of negativity that has surrounded me for about a decade. I’m unhappy with the American culture, the violence and greed and disconnect disturb me. Equador seems to be pulling me . Your guests are speaking a language that seems to address this. I want to return to a naïveté. I hope I am not misleading myself. But we have to take a risk to make a break don’t we. Forgive my rambling. I feel moved by this production. It hits points of light.
I don't think you're being mislead. There are many people from across the world moving to this area looking to reconnect with nature and to be connected to an intentional community. Hopefully our videos can shed some light on that.

French people are very sensitive and perceptive, they will take your feelings into account !
I completely agree with the guy about 'I like being away from my government'. Most western governments suck so bad, it takes you about 3 months of living somewhere else to deprogram yourself and realize how much they interfere in your day to day life with their piles of frigging rules. But the girl: 'You need a point of reference form your own life', then says 'But you need to let go and forget your past.' My wife and all of her family are Buddhists. But the deliberately obfuscating rubbish these characters talk about to try and mystify and make everything wonderful in an unusual way, does my head in. Your average Buddhist doesn't talk like this, only the ones that want to make you think they have a clever and unusual perspective on life. Trust me, they don't. Buddhists that talk like these two do, are like the end of the world is nigh guy, on a soapbox in the park that everyone is ignoring.
Thanks for your opinion Martin. Vilcabamba has a wide range of viewpoints...from Christian to Buddhists and beyond. It's a melting pot of sorts.
