This is a GREAT tutorial! I refreshed my pink Lolly boots with a light pink dye from Angelus last year & the color matched almost perfectly. After street skating for nearly 8 years, my Lollies were looking a little dull & worn out so I decided to take on the project & have no regrets! I did place painter's tape around the sole of the boot & pieces of clear tape around the eyelets to protect them from the dye. The only drawback after they dried & were sealed is that I had to be careful what I wore when I skated because the powdery residue still got on my clothes after a few months. No problems after that. I get loads of compliments when I wear these skates.
First of all, HUGE props to you for using black dye and wearing a pastel sweater. I would’ve ruined it for sure. But awesome tutorial! I was having a hard time deciding between strawberry and poppy lollies, and ended up going with the strawberry. A tiny part of me regrets not getting poppy so good to know I can change them to red whenever lol. Just bought some dye and white suede toe caps to try it out on.
@anastasiarandall7749 yes I only used the Angelus suede beige. I brushed it out with a suede brush prior to putting any dye on. I personally dabbed on the color as opposed to rubbed. Let it dry 24 hrs, brushed it out slightly and applied another coat. Dry another 24 hrs, brushed it out and sealed it with fabric protective spray. Make sure to get at least 2 applicators for the multiple dye applications
I dyed my suede skates a beautiful purple with this dye, and I love them. I'm about to dye my other suede skates either black or a dark green. Haven't decided yet. Also as a tip use the box this dye comes in. It's designed to be a stand for the bottle, and it's a real help at preventing spills and the bottle tipping over.
You can use the box to stabilize the bottle of dye. It was making me so nervous to watch you whenever you dipped the brush or applicator into the bottle, or when your hand or arm brushed the bottle. 👍🏼😉

Do you not brush off the powdery residue that sits over the dye after it dries? I only did one coat on my skates and they covered really nicely, then went to town on them with a brush to get the powder off. It didn't take the dye off, just the powder.
Perfect. I just bought dye to go for m yellow lollies to dark green. Been holding off feeling nervous but this has given me the confidence to move forward!
I don't have the skates yet. They are a white chicogo skate with metal plates and trucks also the boot is stiff. Just ine problem men don't wear white skates. Would you recommend buying them and dying them black. Or should i wait until they get rainbow riders back in stock?
You say the boot is stiff, do you know if it's leather? If it's a PU/fake leather it won't work to dye them with this technique. This is for suede only.
You could use colour theory to put a different colour on top to get them to a different colour. If you put bright pink on those you could get a really nice purple ect, also bleaching them would work scientifically speaking but would need to be done properly 🥰
You look like you could be Britney Spears sister or something ! Like a different sister not Jamie but dang I really see it ! You’re stunning and adorable personality
The only thing I don't like about it, I dyed mine, is that the suede is no longer soft. The feel of it is now stiff. No one has take about it or how to fix it, if there is a fix.

They look great! My blue ones are still pretty blue but I might make them black or purple one day. Is the more shiny area on the nose because the suede had worn down more there?
What color skates do you have and what color would you dye them? What other fun skate customization videos should we make?
Black and I’d dye them black lol
@@moonlightmermaid671 nothin wrong with a little touch up!
@@moxiskates definitely
I am going to customize them light blue and they are white now
I’d love some navy skates.

Does anyone know if you can also dye the heel? Because a black boot with a brown heel doesn't look so nice. And if yes, what color can you use?
That Stevie Nicks hair though

Just dyed my moxi lollys originally from floss (a green teal color) to beige and now living my neutral color dreams 🤎🤍🤎
Did you just use straight beige or a different color? I also have the green skates

Mine are yellow, I think I’m going to do them tan and then pumpkin
you are a wise lady. and thank you for not fakeing or over acting.
Love!! I wanna dye my clementine Lollies a darker burnt orange! The strip down the back really made those pop!

Any possible way to lighten black lollys to be dyed to purple? I wanted the lilac or taffy but my local shop didn’t have my size in the colors.

Thank you for the tutorial! Just one question, if I do need to do a second coat, how long do I wait after the first coat?
You might be able to find a dye fixative to prevent to color from rubbing off.

Thanks for the great video! I was thinking about to dye my Lollies taffy in dark grey or brown.Do you think it would work?
The vegan jack boots only come in white and black.. is it possible to dye those as well?
What is the name of the sealant?
How many oz of dye would I need for one pair of skates? I am also doing black on blue suede moxis :)
Anyone know where these laces are from? So fun!
