Gary was educated at the State Univerty of Newyork at Potsdam (bechaler of science, 1966) and DePaul University in Chicago, (Master of Music, 1968). Gary was the percussion instructor Minois Universty. In 1972 he joined the faculty of Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and was appointed head of the percussion Department in 1973.

Watching this (and any Gary solo) you really get a sense of where Weckl and Colaiuta come from.

Theres tons of great players, but there only a few that can play technically and musically at the same time like Chaffe does.
