One of the amazing things about m4a is that you can always compress the same file over and over again (with the same Bitrate) without loosing quality further. Also for streaming m4a is made with it in mind.
Recently, I have discovered that my mobile audio player tends to crash a lot in the timeline with very long MP3 files, and that doesn't happen with M4a. So now I download all the audio streams that interest me in this format, with a bitrate of 128kb, so I get files of a fairly contained size. Very happy with this change. P.S.: I use an Android phone with the VLC player, for context.
THANK you for this! Finally a practical, actual comparison between M4a vs MP3! There are differences!
