HISTORY MADE: Shenzhou-18 crew makes longest EVA record for Chinese spacewalk

NEW RECORD: Heart-pounding highlights of first EVA of Shenzhou-18 crew from edge of space, setting a new record for longest Chinese spacewalk. The Shenzhou-18 crew aboard China's orbiting space station completed their first extravehicular activity on Tuesday, May 28.
During their approximately 8.5-hour spacewalk, taikonauts Ye Guangfu, Li Cong and Li Guangsu closely collaborated on tasks such as installing space station debris protection devices and conducting inspections of extravehicular equipment and facilities, completing them at 6:58 p.m. Beijing time on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
The taikonauts accomplished their mission with the coordinated support of the space station's robotic arm and ground-based personnel. Ye and Li safely returned to the Tianhe core module, marking the completion of the activities.

Actually it was worse than not invited, they were BANNED by US law from participating in the ISS. The US provides them with the biggest incentives to be self sufficient.

Stunning footage, thankyou PointOrView. Enjoyed a good look at the EVA suits; those micrometeroid coveralls protecting the taikonauts EVA suits is of particular interest.
The EVA suits, along with the slick Tiangong-3 interior, LOOK like the 2nd Generation spacecraft that they all actually are.
The ISS cluttered orbital labs (KIBO excluded) and leaky EVA suits are a testament to their difficult role as pathfinders for the 1st Generation spacecraft to achieve a permanent Western orbital presence.
