Find out in my 3 days of durian binge eating story and lesson I learned from eating durians! :) อย่าลืมกดไลค์ กดติดตามช่องของผมและอินสตาแกรมของผมได้นะครับ @TJ_Storytelling
i bought durians from nonthaburi this year. a whole unpeeled monthong was sold at 1500 baht per kg while kanyao was 6000 baht per kg. they were expensive but very delicious.
Oh wow, that sounds so yummy! yes, the durian prices keep going up but they are so addictive and delicious!! (this year, I only got to find Monthong in super markets but hopefully, next year, I can try many different varieties too).
Thank you khun K, I'm glad to hear my video was useful for you, you should definitely go try :) (I recommend starting with Thai monthong variety as it's milder than many other varieties)
And yes, I later found out it was kluai buat chi that went bad during the delivery. (the owner said it's not supposed to be that sour) I learned it the hard way....55 and thank you Art for your recommendations for other varieties, hopefully I can taste them one day! : )
Huh...! I am surprised that the durian price is much higher than I expected! My first durian experience was durian bubble tea in Toronto, and then much later, I tried the real durian fruit at COEX when there was an international food exhibition or something. I had a bite, spoke to my friend, and my friend covered my mouth and asked me to stop talking right away. bahahahaha I loooooved how you ended with your insights of giving a "second chance." This is so TJ and I just loved it!!! keep it up, my 4D bro!!!!!
I love durian & coconut milk infused sticky rice. But anything with coconut milk you can't keep it for too long. Even within a day if you cannot eat it, you need to put it in the fridge. Otherwise it will go bad. And the sour coconut milk taste means it has gone bad. :P
It's so good to see you Pomme on RUclips (it feels fresh to see you on another platform. hehe) and I didn't know you have a channel too!! (I will go subscribe right away for disney medley & musicals) And yes!! I later found out it was kluai buat chi made with durian/ coconut cream/pandan water that actually went bad/sour during the delivery (2-3 days in hot weather). (the owner said it's not supposed to be that sour) I learned it the hard way....haha but yes! I tried fresh durian sticky rice with fresh coconut cream, that was aroiiii maak!!
Also that is not proper way to eat Durian Sticky Rice. It actually serves room temperature or tends to be hot. Please try the one fresh at a shop. You probably should not have ordered a delivery, esp. when they wrap in a package; it will go off very quickly in that state. Please try the one in traditionary Thai restaurant, even at S&P.
Yes, I later found out it was kluai buat chi made with durian/ coconut cream/pandan water that actually went bad/sour during the delivery (2-3 days in hot weather). (the owner said it's not supposed to be that sour) went so sour that it also had carbonation and it also curdled like yogurt.... and I had stomachache afterwards 55;; Good advice, I will try next time at a fresh/wet market :)
@@TJStories Yes, I can tell from the look of it. Anything with coconut milk will go off within a day and not recommended by the doctor to keep it longer than that. Even though it is edible, it is still bad for your body. Since Durian is in season, you can try it at restos like The Terrace, S&P and many proper local Thai chain place. It is pretty decent. We don't usually or perhaps by tradition enjoy it with large chunks of durian like the modern one you ordered. It tends to be "the ghost of durian"; in other words, just enough to have a taste of durian, which will make the coconut cream not too sour for taste. But I think a mouthful of the one you ordered has a right amount of drama for a mukbung video! You were eating so well!! Hahaha
I'm British and durian can usually only be found in Asian supermarkets and it's stupidly expensive. We're also limited on variety. I'm so super jealous, please send me some!
Hi Paula, thank you for your comment! Yes, I remember when I was in the US, it was very hard to come by fresh durians, the ones they had in Asian markets were like you said, super expensive. It's actually very expensive here in Thailand as well because many of the best ones get exported.... Hope you can find some to try there : ) also I heard, people like to eat durian and mangosteen (cooling effect) together
@@TJStories oh no! Yes, I love durian and was hoping to go to Thailand one day to eat lots of them. :) I'm really hoping it's not as expensive as here!
Not forgetting countries such as Brunei, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia etc for some interesting durian varieties! I want to try them all! :)
@@PaulaRees but good thing is sometimes in Bangok, they have Durian buffet for only like £12-13 Paula you should try next time~! (They usually have at some popular malls like EmQuartier & Central World 1-2 times a year in May-June
@@TJStories :o :o :o :o I've heard about the fruit buffets (that include durian!) YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMYYYY! I think here you get like 2 pieces of durian for anywhere between £12 and £20. I've only bought it a few times. I'm so there! I've been wanting to go to Asia for so long now anyways! I would like to make it a reality! :D
I believe you love Thai durian, but don't eat too much of it. Otherwise, your blood sugar level will rise significantly. I'm glad you love Thai durian.
Yes, I have to thank Thai durians, before trying them in Thailand, I couldn't even smell them from 50 meters away...hehe. thanks for the advice pigpigpigy! :)
Stinky smell coz it is too ripe if you wanna eat good taste & good texture you must select properly durian. For Sticky rice with durian & coconut milk I think coconut milk gone bad ( rotten) coz normally taste will be sweet not sour.
Yes, you are right. I later found out it was kluai buat chi that went bad during the delivery. (the owner said it's not supposed to be that sour), I tried other fresh durian sticky rice at a local market and it was so much better (just sweet and no sour taste) thank you for the tip na khrap :)
@@TJStories I hope you will enjoy properly durian we have a lot durian products (cake, chip, tart, ice cream, candy and also some Thai food like Massaman Curry which use durian instead of potato etc.) normally difference products will use difference durian, some will use ripe but some must use unripe depend which one is suitable.
You are one of the lucky ones Methee, I gain weight (on my face and belly) easily...hehe so I can only have a few pieces. and yes, thank you for the advice, now I know the sourness from the paste is because it has gone bad and not the original intended taste from fermentation :)
In Thailand after we eat durian, we will eat mangosteen. Durain is hot fruit, some people eat too much then they can get sick. Mangosteen is cold fruit, it can help from hot fruit. I like your video, keep doing it. I like to see Thai content. I did subscribe you. 😊
