Loving this idea.. Honestly this could become a whole series of it's own where we redo every Royal Rumble and see if the actual Winner can do it or if we get a different winner.. Whilst its far from the best Rumble ever.. a redo of the 1995 would be interesting.. can Shawn Michaels and Bulldog go the whole distance again?, or will we get a really random winner like Steven Dunn or Jimmy Del Ray?.. Look forward to more.
Sorry, took some time this time 😄 Thank you for the shout out ❤ Here comes that stats: 🤓 Spoiler warning! Most eliminations: 1) Repo Man - 6 2) Jerry Sagss, Jake Roberts, Virgil - each 3 3) Ted DiBiase, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Col. Mustafa, Sid Justice - each 2 Longest time in: 1) Repo Man - 16 min 04 sec 2) Hulk Hogan - 13 min 19 sec 3) Jake Roberts - 12 min 41 sec Shortest time in: 1) Skinner - 9 sec 2) The Barbarian - 29 sec 3) Greg Valentine - 40 sec 4) Jimmy Snuka - 50 sec That was a real cool rumble! The result was quite similar if you replace Flair with Slaughter. Oh and get well soon, Ricky!
The grit and determination that Slaughter took to win was dwarfed by the intestinal fortitude it took you Ricky for doing this rumble while you are sick. Great job!
This was such a fitting ending, in 91 Hogan won the rumble to go on to face and defeat slaughter at Wrestlemania 7 for the belt. This rumble was like Slaughters revenge in an alternate universe. Good stuff
So badass seeing this rumble go down in this game. It's a shame the game only lets 8 superstars in the ring. I remember watching the real 1992 rumble one on TV when I was a kid. So epic!!
‘92… junior high school (middle school in some areas)… the promo after Flair won with Perfect and The Brain behind him was CLASSIC!!!! Me and my little brother used to put each other in wrestling moves all the time! He always put me in the Boston Crab or Scorpion Death Lock since he weighed more than me and since I had longer legs, I put him in the Figure 4! Lol. Man the memories from this rumble! Thanks for enduring your cold to bring us this rumble brother! Great video!
Sooooo good, this Rumble brings me back to my high school days watching this with my buddies. Star studded Rumble. Great job Ricky. My 2 cents, it's ALWAYS more entertaining when you play in it. My kids and I root so hard for you and feel your pain when you get eliminated and celebrate when you're victorious! Keep em coming brother!
Every time I see Sgt Slaughter I always think about your impression of him "And that's an order". You gotta do it one time for me and my kids. They think it's the funniest thing.
The title was on the line in the 2016 Royal Rumble too. Roman Reigns was forced to defend the WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble match itself. He had to enter number 1 too. Triple H won that Rumble and became the new WWE Champion. Roman got the belt back at Wrestlemania
I gotta hand it to Ya, Ricky...U showed great heart bringin us this Rumble while being sick! Sgt Slaughter passed up like 10 opportunities to win this by lifting opponents over his head.
Seeing how you've done about 45 Rumbles, how about an All Ricky Rumble? The guys you've used. Yes that includes Winslow, Bob Ross, Superman, Green Goblin, Edge, etc
Excellent concept. Loved it. The final 3 really brought their A-game. Imagine if this had actually been the way the 92 RR panned out. I wonder how that would’ve changed the course of history lol. This concept could be a whole series on its own where you re-do each RR. Would be interesting to see which one would play out closest to reality.
What a wild finish. The final 3 really went at it. Thought it was gonna last forever lol. Great job Ricky. Also hope you get over your cold soon…stinks being sick.
The announcers back in the late 80's and 90's were hands down the best of all time, especially with Jesse the Body on the mic. The announcers of today wrestling can't hold a mic for them guys IMO.
How about a rumble of "lesser" tag team partners--the ones that didn't rise to the same level of fame , e.g. Marty Jannetty, Bart Gunn, Joey Mercury, Jim the Anvil, etc.?
Hi Ricky watched a lot of your rumble video, never thought it would be so entertaining without playing the game but with your commentary and enthusiasm makes it so entertaining. I remember watching this rumble my era. I think the wrestlers were a lot more watchable than the wrestlers today. Thank for great video
Flair was a riot ! Just after the Texas Tornado came in at the 18:20 time , Flair was getting hammered by The Tornado . He did his great walk about 6 steps and then falls on his face . I love it !
@@RickyJSports Thank god Hulk Hogan didn't win! Slaughter wouldn't allow him to pull his backstage politics to go over. Lol! We should come up with a WWF/WWE 30-woman royal rumble with past and present participants.
Just want to say before I watch the first match, that this should be fascinating, since you not only seem to know this particular Rumble well (referencing it often since the beginning), but gave it a fresh watch too, making you basically a full-on expert commentator for this one. Can't wait to see how it plays out
I remember this Rumble! Kudos for redoing it!! Ricky, I'm renewing my campaign for a WWF 80s Rumble 2.0 with a second tier of WWF Wrestlers. Any chance of it happening? Adrian Adonis, B. Brian Blair, Barry Horowitz, Barry Windham, Bob Backlund, Bob Orton, The Brooklyn Brawler, Bruno Samartino, Dino Bravo, Don Muraco, The Leaping Lanny Paffo, George the Animal Steele, Greg Valentine, Jim The Anvil Neidhart, Iron Mike Sharpe, Iron Sheik, Ivan Putski, Jimmy Snuka, Chief Jay Strongbow, Ken Patera, Mr. Fuji, Tiger Chung Lee, Mr. Perfect, Nikolai Volkoff, Paul Orndorf, Rick Martel, Rick Rude, Rick Steamboat, Tito Santana, Roddy Piper, Rocky Johnson, SD Jones, Sgt. Slaughter, Terry Funk, The Wild Samoans, The Tonga Kid
Haha, the Beserker! When I was in 5th grade my dad took me to a house event. You were able to run down the aisle towards the ring when the wrestler’s music started. I got right up to the metal barrier for the Beserker and punched him in the arm. He just continued on…huff, huff, huff.
Another classic video Brother!! You better take care of yourself Ricky so we get more classic videos. Yea im 52 and i remember watching Mid South Wrestling with my Pawpaw and mawmaw. I would allways remember them times i loved it. WWF took alot of the wrestlers from that company. Magnum TA, Mr Wrestler2, Junkyard dog, Terry Taylor, Ted DiBiase & Borne & Duggan and they use to be in a faction called the RAT Pack. I loved it i was a part of watching them through my life! I would like to see a Mid South Wrestling Rumble that would be so Awsome.
Seeing Haku reminded me that the 1st video of yours I saw was the 2001 Rumble, and that those Rumbles were only 9 years apart. 2001 seems so recent in my mind, and 1992 so distant, and so much has changed between those years.
I watched the '92 Rumble on PPV. The Royal Rumble was always right after my birthday, so it's the one PPV that my parents would get me. I always remember when Jake the Snake came out and just sat in the corner and watched Piper beat up on Ric Flair.
Just curious? Do you watch the battle royal then add the commentary over later because you mentioned how Greg Valentine lasted awhile during thr 92 rumble but didnt last long in this one BEFORE he was eliminated? Was thinking of making videos, curious on process.
So Ricky I had to do it. I watched the entire 1992 rumble again before watching this so it was fresh in my head. It’s been and I know I’m dating myself but 30 years since I seen this rumble on my friends basement tv with the scramble box. But it was great to watch again I forgot that was Piper’s first belt win as well on that PPV. It was a great trip down memory lane and a awesome rumble as well. You take care of yourself and get better brother. Also let’s give it up for the underdog repo man, and his crazy performance.
Before the Rumble itself we had The New Foundation beating Orient Express , The Beverley Brothers getting the win over The Bushwhackers but Luke and Butch dumped Beau and Blake out of the ring caught The Genius and Jameson kicked him in the shins , Roddy Piper catching The Mountie in a sleeper for the Intercontinental title then we had Natural Disasters beating Legion of Doom via count out but Hawk and Animal retained the Tag Team titles .
Repo Man deserves another shot. Rumble 29 - best performances of each Rumble that has happened this season, plus wildcards voted by fans. Rumble 30 - runners up of each Rumble, plus runner up from last year's finale rumble.
awesome rumble Ricky! felt like a kid again watching it on a vhs i rented from the local shop back in the day. id love to see the one before that i think had dino bravo, bush wackers, think even the ultimate warrior in it. Yep, just checked, it was the 1991 Royal Rumble. Totally want the Texas Tornado to go the distance. KVE is one of my all time favorite wrestlers.
The Slaughter heel turn irl was possibly 1 of the best heel turns ever. The legit heat he got was incredible. The Hogan heel turn to join NWO was probably more shocking but the nwo quickly became "cool"... Slaughter siding with the "enemies" during the Iraq war was such a good wrestling storyline.
@@RickyJSports Loved it man - you’ve got to do more of these. It was cool hearing your historical comparisons of what really went down in 1992 while this one was going on.
Much thanks Ricky! I remember this rumble, it was very entertaining! Commentary 👍& voice over using Macho Man (while being sick)👍! Get better Ricky! See you soon! Cheers, Mike 😎🇨🇦🤼♂️
I got another idea for a Rumble: The Road Rage Rumble using famous characters involved in high speed chases! Cops vs Road Runners. Dukes of Hazzard vs Fast n Furious vs Chips vs knight Ryder vs Miami Vice and etc. We can't run out of ideas, Bud.
Can we all just take a second and appreciate how fantastic most of those CAWs were!?!? The attire, the body sizes, everything was spot on for the most part.
Lol, I just watched this Rumble on You Tube a day or so ago. It was in the suggestions. It looked like it was a celebration of Rick Flair, each wrestler got to have a one-on-one moment with him in this match.
Great stuff bro. As always. Have you considered a sci-fi rumble where sci fi franchises compete against each other (star wars, star trek, space 1999, Jason of star command, lost in space, etc.)
Ricky the title also was given to the winner of the 2016 royal rumble when Mr McMahon Force Roman to defend it in the rumble match where Triple H won it
I was born in 86. Fell in love with WWF around 89. Developed a sense of reason around 92. Now, the mega drive was the thing back then. I yearned for a hyper-realistic game back then, where you could make wrestlers, have entrances, create arenas, wear belts....such an idea seemed IMPOSSIBLE. Especially some inventory where you can listen to a library of everyone's theme. IMPOSSIBLE. Now I'm too desensitised to it all. Wish I could teleport and just show my old self this.
First time the title was on the line, not the only time... Trips won the Rumble and the title in 2016. Great video, still my favourite Rumble of all time for the fantastic lineup.
One correction, Sgt slaughter came into the WWF as a face. He came in in the early 80s and one of the first to enter the ring to music. He actually may have been the first. He entered to the Marines anthem. He only became a heel much later as an Iraqi sympathizer during the Persian Gulf war in 1991.
Thanks for doing these rumbles Ricky J

Hogan would never agree to let SGT
Slaughter manhandle him like that lol
One correction, Sgt slaughter came into the WWF as a face. He came in in the early 80s and one of the first to enter the ring to music. He actually may have been the first. He entered to the Marines anthem.
He only became a heel much later as an Iraqi sympathizer during the Persian Gulf war in 1991.
