    To be honest, the players the D-Backs picked up at the trade deadline made them a much better team (Especially their bullpen) down the stretch than their final overall record indicated. A full year with them and they are probably a mid to high nineties win team. You don't beat the Brewers, Dodgers and Phillies in the playoffs with a mediocre team no matter how hot they are.

    • @kingicicle
      @kingicicle Год назад +1

      They literally had a losing record after July 15.

    • @DIVISIONINCISION
      @DIVISIONINCISION Год назад

      @@kingicicle Do you understand that the majority of the team is under 25, many of them rookies? Teams like that will take awhile to learn how to win. This year was not supposed to be a post-season run. They are ahead of schedule. With this experience, thanks to playing the Brewers, Dodgers and Phillies, they will win 90 games or more next year, but in contention for the division. This is the kind of experience that these kids need.

    • @kingicicle
      @kingicicle Год назад

      @@DIVISIONINCISION Ok? Sure. Has no relation to previous claim. They had a very good record and were in first place until around July. They then struggled down the stretch after getting trade pieces (unlike what the previous commentator said) and snuck into the playoffs because Cubs collapsed.

    • @DIVISIONINCISION
      @DIVISIONINCISION Год назад +1

      @@kingicicle The D-backs beat the Cubs 7 out of 8 games and were the main reason the Cubs didn't make the post-season. How about that?

    • @kingicicle
      @kingicicle Год назад

      @@DIVISIONINCISION It was one reason. The Cubs also lost series to the Rockies and Pirates. Plus, winnable games to the Braves.

    It stings like the eagles super bowl loss last year. These are just ones you cant let slip away, especially with how quickly championship windows can fade for teams.

      That's what I just said look at the Astros everyone had them winning it again this year but this is what tells me that during the regular season teams that win their division end up getting upset by teams no one expected to be we'll in the playoffs

    Trying to hit the ball out of the park is exactly what the Phillies were trying to do after game three. The result was a lot of flyouts.

    To me it’s looks like this team has 2 major issues. First, and I know this has been a hot topic and he has a good OBP but I’m still not sold on Schwarber as lead off. We need speed and a good base runner as lead off. Secondly, the chasing out of the strike zone and plate discipline, especially with Castellanos, isn’t worth his upside. I get that’s a controversial opinion because he was an all-star but it really hurt us at the end of the NLCS. And I think Dave was referring to him when he said some guys will chase no matter what. As a side note, I don’t think Bryce should stay at 1st because I don’t think we should let Hoskins walk. I have a feeling this year and the postseason would have been different if he was in the line up. We really needed a power right hand bat and I think he is going to have a great career wherever he goes. If they do let him walk I hope he doesn’t sign with a division rival. It would be a major mistake to let him go….

    Rios (.048) killed the Phil's with his bat. Came up a lot with runners in scoring position and was an automatic out. Have to have someone who can play A decent center field and hit. Castellanos 0 for 28. Relmuto, Turner,Harper 3 for 39. There is your answer to the loss. Along with the bad pitching of Kimberly who put the team in a tailspin.

    The Phillies need to be more adaptable. They need to be able to adjust, mix up the lineup. They’re big boys, they can handle it. Sure Rob ended up being right about leaving Bohm where he was for Game 7 but imagine if we had put Marsh to follow Harper. And I know so much goes into this… Bohm is essentially a bait to make pitchers feel comfortable letting Harper and maybe Turner or Schwarber on, but my point is with a team that doesn’t alway seem to be in sync but always has someone who’s hot - they got to mix it up! Also Schwarber leading off is questionable. He was an automatic out. But i wonder if he’s a good veteran who can inform the rest of the batting order what to look for when he strikes out. The Phils have to learn how to lay off the slider. Practice that all flipping off season! No more swinging at garbage outside the zone. Finally I miss Hoskins!!! 😢

    I don't know if that's what usually happens but then look at the Astros they were down 2-0 against the Rangers then came and tied the series baseball enthusiast will tell you that teams like the Rangers and d-backs were a surprise for some because of their division they were in i mean who would have thought that the d-backs would be or come this far because look at the division they were in they surprised everyone including themselves during the regular szn many had the stros and Phillies there again meaning the world series rematch

    Yeah but he needs to get this team better because I don't think they'll be able to make it 3 times in a row no one had gone back to back to back nlds nlcs its been a while since a team has ever done that plus the nucleus of this team changes over time they're going to have decision to maje after or during this off-season thats why him dembrosky and the front office needs to focus on is how can they get better because he dembrosky sees teams like the Braves Dodgers and yes the d-backs how can we get better that's where you have ro start thinking about getting younger players not just hitters but players that can run the bases
