Esta pegada. Esos driver solo se quitan las bobinas se reparan o se compran no es necesario desmontarlo todo. Claro es un poco incómodo limpiar el interior pero se logra yo cambio y reparo de esos drivers.

Before you do all of that, the newer Peavey PR15s are easy. Here is how...
Remove the back plate with the crossover and simply unscrew the driver by hand. They stopped putting on the thread glue. Check and see before you go though all of that...
You can also replace just the diaphragm of the driver. It is much cheaper. If it is stuck, you can get a wrench in there to loosen the driver without taking the front apart. I replace the whole assembly with the Peavey aftermarket TW420 as it holds up just as well and is only about $20. These drivers are 1-3/8" 18 TPI horn driver assembly when searching. Hand tighten the driver with no glue or "thread lock". It is not needed.
*If* you need to disassemble the whole speaker with a stuck driver, start by putting screws back into the back plate crossover. Now, the front grill and the inside 4 screws. Then the 14 front edge screws. Now remove the back panel crossover network. You do NOT want the crossover falling around inside the case. It may puncture the bass speaker cone and you will then spend a ton of money.
Before putting things back together, get two "sheets" of 4" or better 6" insulation 16" wide and spread it out inside the speaker cabinet top to bottom. It should stand in place on it's own. This will give you much more clean bass sound from this cabinet without adding any weight.
    ~Enjoy

I have dozens of Peavey speaker sets and have replaced the Compression Drivers on many of them, I could not believe how hard these were to unscrew. I did not know they glued them. Thanks for letting me know.

I wonder why they felt the need to glue them? I have changed get many others and none of them were glued..

Replace the 15" drivers with some descent cast BW drivers and they sound great. I have the powered versions and they have a 8 Ohm driver made from pressed steel. I changed them for some quality 4 Ohm drive units and the amps had no problem running them and the volume increased by 50% and would run all day without any overheating or other issues.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY like PR15 speakers. My school has 2 PR12 speakers and the work pretty good and sound decent.

The molded enclosure looks to be the same design as the peavey impulse 1015. The Impulse 1015 has a 15 black widow and RX22 horn driver along with different back panel. Its can handle way more power. I don't think up grading the the 15 speaker and horn would hurt a thing if one wished to do so and far as cabinet design issues go. Nice video. Thanks!

One thing I don't understand why not just change the diaphragm? rather then the whole driver? that would be just the two bolts on top without taking it apart, also I guess the plastic speakers are more waterproof outside but I guess if the speaker gets wet that's all over also?

I have a pair of the powered speakers and the driver went out on one of them. I replaced the driver but still no sound coming from the horn. I checked the fuse and everything looks good. Any clue as to why it won’t work? I know it’s a long shot but worth a shot in asking.

I have not del much with powered speakers. Peavey has protection circuits built into their crossover typically so look there. Try the horn on another known good amp to be sure it's working so your not chasing something that will never operate. Can also try a known good speaker in that cabinet.

A friend bought these and they’re lightweight but I think they don’t sound very good either.
I’d say they’re okay for spoken word or a anything else where you just need volume

I used a Peavey KOSMOS base enhancer and a Peavey XR800F+ 1000watt amp with these and they sounded amazing. I only had 1 horn blow out of 4 of them in 10-15 years

    • @menergyoficial1982

@@dsharp7441 Do you have the active type (with amp included)? Because I'm talking about the passive speakers (no power) if you unscrew the input piece (in the back where you plug them) that is where the fuse is to protect the high frequency driver.

Put your ear up to the tweeter section and make sure you hear the high frequency. Make sure both the woofer and horn are operating without scratching sound. Run at low volume and at high.
