4:50 - Gotta love that vertical arch space! Such a great way to use space “above” the garden!
Thank you so much! I think it’s so pretty 💚
Absolutely family first weeds they grow without nurturing🥴tons of delicious produce love watching you harvest!!
For sure haha! My kids don’t mind the grass and I try not too 😬😜🙈 haha. Lots of food coming in regardless 😆
The sunflowers are so pretty! Very inviting having those at the front of your vegetable garden 🌻🌻🌻
Aren’t they? They are so bright and cheerful! I just love seeing them every time I walk up. 😆
Things are looking good, especially the little grape tomatoes. Can't wait to see the watermelons! God bless!🏵️
Thank you so much! I am really excited to hopefully harvest some watermelons! I just hope the critters don’t get to them before they ripen 😬
Hi Cara! I feel you about weeding the garden. Let it grow and enjoy your time with the family! 💚 Love the ground cherries, and your onions look about as perfect as onions can look! Look forward to seeing the harvest video. Enjoy the abundance. This is such a fun time of the year!
Hi Valerie! Family always comes first for sure.
Aww thank you so much! The onion video should be going live on Monday! We harvested sooo many haha. Hope you have a great weekend! -Cara
How lovely everything is looking. You must be so pleased. The sunflowers are just gorgeous, and your tomatoes look delicious. Such a shame we all have to battle with the little creatures that want to eat our veggies too!
Gardening is always so much! I love that you can grow food and beautiful things from one little seed. It never ceases to amaze me 😊💚
You have such a beautiful garden! It looks private and secluded, and I'm amazed at how many vegetables you've managed to grow and how organized it looks. Just amazing!!
Organized 😬🙃🙈 haha well thank you. I really appreciate that. It is really amazing how much you can grow even with a ton of weeds and grass growing.
7:28 - I find it super cool that you are leaving volunteer plants growing, even thought they might be in the way!
Thanks! I have found that the volunteer plants tend to be the most resilient too, so you can’t rip that out of the garden haha 👍
Beautiful flowers 🌸💕🌸 beautiful vegetables 🥕 the joys of gardening 👩🏼🌾 I absolutely love it 😍 I could taste all your wonderful tomatoes 🍅 and your watermelons 🍉 are super cute 🥰
Hi Jasmine! The tomatoes really do taste so sweet and wonderful! They are almost like candy haha. Hopefully the watermelons taste that good too! 😜
12:52 enjoy gardening
I do love to garden, it is so therapeutic 😊
Your garden looks great! Those indigo cherry tomatoes are gorgeous. Also, your onions look amazing! I’ve never been all that successful of onions, so I’m always in awe when people grow huge beautiful onions!
Thank you!! My onions were pitiful last year haha. 🙈This year is my first year I have successfully grown big onions. I think it was due to my putting them in raised beds.
Wow those zinnia are gorgeous!...your garden too!!...loved the tour
Thank you so much 😊 I have really been loving the zinnias lately!
🌸👍🏼🌼 your garden is coming along Cara ! Love your zinnias and marigolds, they are so thick and vibrant colors ! Your onions , wow ! I can’t grow them like you ! Collect seeds for next year !
I am loving the zinnias too! I just sowed some more in other areas of the garden as well last night, so hopefully we have more soon!
Last year my onions were not very successfully. I think the addition of the raised beds this year helped a lot. 😊
I totally hear you regarding being a mom and weeding! I often have to put the weeding to the wayside and everything still grows well despite my negligence 💛 Happy gardening!
Yes, same here! When the weeding doesn’t get done God is faithful and we still have a harvest!😊happy gardening 🧑🌾!
Right!? I am glad I am not alone. I think next year we will focus more on the raised beds and other weed prevention measures, because there just isn’t the time to stay on top of it like I would like. The kids love helping in the garden, but only for like 5 minutes haha 😂 I can’t ever say no if they ask me to come play and I am 100% ok with that. I wouldn’t have it any other way. 💚💚💚
Greetings, Cara, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
Lovely tour, as always ❤️
Thank you Peggy! 😊
Great to see your veggie garden in July Cara, love the sun flowers, marigolds and your flowers are looking amazing. wow, such fresh and juicy cucumbers 🥒 the weeds are part of a garden, just the way it is. Beautiful harvest🍅🥬 thanks for sharing💚
Hi Germaine! We have been eating a lot of yummy veggies from the garden and we are loving it. My kids and I just picked a bunch of flowers this morning and put them in vases around the house, it just makes our feels so happy! I am loving it! -Cara
Very nice garden tour, thank you for sharing 🥰
Happy gardening 🥰
Happy Gardening to you as well! Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it! -Cara
Hi Cara, That was a very nice harvest well done 👍👍👍, those tomatoes looked very nice, Take care.
Thank you so much! The tiny red currant tomatoes are my favorites so far this year. They are so sweet and yummy! -Cara
Beautiful garden tour! LOVE LOVE LOVE those massive sunflowers! They make a garden so happy don't they?! 😃 I just planted more zinnias as well, I have faith we will get another show. Nice video hun you are as cute as a bugs ear! 🧡❤️💜💙💚
Thank you so much! I having a variety of flowers around! The sunflowers and zinnias bring me so much joy and a smile to my face whenever I see them. You can't have too much of that haha.
Ohhhh my those sunflowers 🌻 are gorgeous. Slugs 🐌 love zinnias 😢and thank goodness I haven’t 🤞🤞 got Japanese beetles 🪲. You have to love self seeding 😂😂. Gerald likes the cucamelons but I didn’t do any this year. I love the bean 🫘 arch I’m going to try something like that next year. It’s all looking fantastic and your both doing a great job. Have a great week 🐝 safe
Last year was my first year doing the cattle panel arches and I really do love them so much! They add such a pretty feature to the garden! I will definitely be keeping them for years to come! Oh consider yourself lucky not to have the Japanese beetles! My parent’s orchard gets absolutely attacked by them every year. It is really frustrating how many of them there are. Hope you have a wonderful week as well! Thank you for watching and commenting! -Cara 😊😊😊
What an abundant harvest of cucumber 🥒 . Your watermelon is looking amazing... I have watermelon envy. My plants are still tiny and no flowers yet. I love that you let your volunteers grow where they plant themselves. I find not Weeding the garden too much helps with water retention 💧💧
I harvested another bundle of cucumbers later that evening too, there were so many in there haha. We have lots to share with family and friends that is for sure! I always find that volunteer plants seem to be the most hearty and resilient I happily welcome them in my garden :)
Hi Cara! Beautiful garden 👍 🤩 The Sunflowers are gorgeous!! Never heard of cucamelons- interesting!
I also did a veggie garden tour and also have lots of zucchini!!!
Hi Mary! Thank you so much! The kids and I just picked a bunch of flowers this morning to put around the house and it just brings so much sunshine into the house and I am loving it! I will go give your garden tour a watch now! -Cara
I love how you have it all so well planned. Wish I could grow a fall garden, but when first frost comes around the first of September, fall tends to be when I clean up the beds and get everything ready for winter. 👍💖😉🤔
It is crazy how fall is approaching so quickly. It really snuck up on us this year. Although there is still a lot of summer left too! Hope you have a great day!-Cara
The garden looks like it's doing really well.
thank you so much 😊 We have been enjoying a lot of great veggies for sure!
Very nice garden tour, thanks Kara. The Zenias are very beautiful. Wow your onions look great.
Thank you! My onions were pretty sad last year so I am really excited that these are taking off! 😊
You have loads of great fruit and flowers growing. It's fab you can grow so much outside, my melons need to be under glass. Great tour, thanks for sharing and take care 😊
My melons are splitting on me so I don’t know if you could call it “growing” them haha 😂
@@bluebirdhomestead Oh no, are they still edible?
Beautiful tour Cara! Keeperlit! 😃🌱💚🙏✨🔥🙌🙌🙌🙌🥰🌸🦋🐝🪱
thank you so much 😊
Beautiful garden sister thanks for sharing
thank you so much for watching and commenting 😊💚
Really enjoyed your Garden Tour and loved the magnificent Sunflowers. When I was a kid I won a prize for growing the tallest Sunflower in The UK that year !! ( long time ago). Hope we don't get the Japanese Beetles - we have enough pests already. Best Wishes, Paul & Nadj.
Wow that is awesome!!! What an accomplishment! How tall was your record sunflower? 🌻
@@bluebirdhomestead I have lots of photos and even the prize but because it is well over 50 years ago I have forgotten how tall it was !!! I think the tallest was 15 feet. Best Wishes.
Amazing garden looks great.💖
very well organized and nicely presented ❤full watch dear❤ Thanks for sharing 💖🌹🌹stay connected, love from Canada
thank you so much for your support and taking the time to watch and comment. I really appreciate it! 😊💚
Howdy Cara, excellent job with your sunflowers! I planted some in my yard, but my dog decided they'd make great chew toys as saplings lol. Also, its encouraging to hear yall arent being hit by the heatwave and drought as bad in 7A, you did a great job with the strawberries, cherry tomatoes, and onions! How big were the bulbs when you planted them? Excellent garden tour!
oh no! Sorry to hear your dog ate your sunflowers 🌻 😅. I have an onion planting video you can check out to see the exact size. Some were about the size of marble, others smaller.
Those cherry tomatoes looks so tasty 😋😋😋😋,awesome harvest 👌
The cherry tomatoes have really been so sweet this year! I am loving the varieties we have growing. The really tiny red currant ones are my favorite so far. -Cara
@@bluebirdhomestead awesome 🤗🤗🤗
Hi Cara you have some great flowers and veggies growing! Massive sunflower's and onions! I might grow cucamelons next year as Meadow would love em! 👍
You should give the cucamelons a try! They aren't the most flavorful, but they are so cute!
Just subscribed looking forward to watching your videos. I'm a homesteader that loves gardening.
Yeah for new homesteading friends! Truly, thank you so much for subscribing! 😊 I really do appreciate it! -Cara
I love garden tours!! ❤️ zinnias are our favorite “garden” flower 🤓 those cuca-melons ARE cute! Your garden spaces look like mine--I chose children rather than spend time weeding too. 🤓 it’s OKAY. ☺️ I am converting to the Ruth stout method to keep the weeds down. 👍🏻 loved the tour! 🌻🌻🌻
Aren’t the zinnias so pretty!? I planted even more last night 😜
I have never tried the Ruth Stout method before, but I will have to look into that 😊
@@bluebirdhomestead ❤️ I think we will have to plant more too! 😉 yes, do look into Ruth stout method. (No weeding/deep mulch) 👍🏻
@@8EACRESHOMESTEAD Thanks! I am researching it now to maybe use next year!
Everything is looking amazing 👏 I think you need a bigger basket all thsy lovely produce 😋
hahah yes I definitely need a bigger basket 😅
Really lovely garden. Thanks for the share...have a great day 🍊
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! 😊😊
nice sharing
big thumbs up
Thank you!
Oh wow, your garden is beautiful. I love your sunflowers plants. Yes, those cucamelons are so cute, I love them. I will have to try them next year. I would love to know how they taste, please keep me posted. Have a blessed day.
The cuca melons honestly don’t taste that great to me haha. I am going to experiment with them in some recipes to see how they do, but I don’t think I will grow them for flavor haha.
@@bluebirdhomestead I completely understand I am about flavor when it comes to food. 😇 thanks for sharing that information to me. Have a wonderful day.
@@peaceinthegarden5578 Same here haha! Hope you have a wonderful day too! 😊😊
Great vegetable garden tour! Some great veg, thanks for sharing, new friend here 🙂
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching and commenting 😊
Great tour! Love all the varieties of watermelon and those onions are incredible! I hear you on the Japanese beetles...they are a right pain😖
Have you found anything to help with the Japanese beetles?
Thank you! We are really excited about the watermelons 🍉 hopefully the critters don’t get to them before they ripen!
@@bluebirdhomestead I just do the old throw them in a cup of soapy water deal...keeps their population down a bit at least.
Hi cara you have some beautiful watermelon 🍉 there my grandchildren would enjoy like yours will know doubt , now we get to the cucamelon they are a love them or hate them thing and sorry to say we with the hate them,
Val loves her zinnia's but for some reason I didn't order any have made sure I have seed for next season or I'll be in trouble. Keep safe Bill and val
haha You have to have zinnia seeds for Val! I saved some from last year, but the germination has been spotty on them. Thankfully I saved a lot so I just resowed even more last night. Our kids are really excited about the watermelons. Hopefully the critters don’t get to them before they rippen😬🙈
I’ve subbed back and Cara your garden is a dream 😍 So much wonderful things growing! I love your flowers 🥰 Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing 💖
Thank you so much ☺️ I really appreciate the support 😊
Lovely tour, Cara. Isn't it great when our favorite veggies and herbs volunteer for us in the spring? I even have several okra plants that are finally popping up in JULY now that it's getting super hot! 😊 You're totally right that weeds here and there won't stop the food from growing. After all, have to keep our priorities straight! Love the look of that squash at 12:10 - is it just a variety of zucchini?
I completely agree, volunteer veggies and herbs are always welcome in my garden. I find that they tend to be more resilient too.
That’s great that your okra are coming up now! The squash is a zucchini 😊 I’ve been picking them once a day, but I really probably need to pick twice a day because they are growing so fast!
Nice 😊
thank you for watching! 😀
Thank you for sharing . I love your garden!
Thank you!
Everything is looking gorgeous Cara! Holy cucumbers 🥒 awesome!! How many plants would you say you have? I have maybe 3 and so far have only picked 2 with 2 more ripening now. Also, I'm so intrigued by that paprika pepper! Added it to my list to try next year. Great tour!
Thank you!! I am not sure exactly how many cucumber plants I have haha. I would say approximately 6 plants. I have dragons egg cucumbers, salt n pepper and muncher I believe
Your garden looks so different in your most recent garden tour! It is nice to follow along with the progress.
Thank you! I sometimes even forget just how quickly everything changes too, it’s nice to be able to look back myself haha
@@bluebirdhomestead Indeed! Thanks for taking us along with you :)

The tomato was sooo good! We had BLT 🥪 for several days in a row off that one big tomato. We have also really been loving all the cherry tomatoes too, they are so sweet!

You have a wonderful garden with a lot of treasures 😇 it reminds me of my childhood, i really like people who are so connected with nature! I like so i subscribed and i am looking forward to your New Videos, greetings from austria 😇 🤗 😇 🤗
Awww thank you so much for your kind words and support! ☺️ Some of my favorite childhood memories are from time spent outside with my family. I really hope my children also have blessed and beautiful memories spending time outside as a family too. It makes me really happy that you were reminded of your childhood through our videos too. 💚💚
@@bluebirdhomestead thank you so much for your Kind answer 😇 yes its so important that children have these memories too, in this time its very difficult for them to be connected to nature. In my childhood we spent a lot of time outside. I Was rised up on a little farm 🙂 thank you once again and greetings from austria 😇

Oh the sunflowers are gorgeous! I don't know if mine will grow or not, they've kind of stalled lately! That dark red zinnia is gorgeous Cara! Cucamelons!!! They really are cute! You have a gorgeous garden. OMG the zukes are huge!! Nice onion crop! I love that you've used cattle fence as a trellis. I wish I could grow melons here! How do you water?
Thank you so much! Isn't that dark red zinnia so pretty!!? I saved seeds from last years zinnias and they were only pink. It is kinda funny, because I have pink, orange, red and burgundy colored zinnias this year now. I just water every thing with a hose. Nothing fancy. Just hand watering. Thankfully we do get a good bit of rain, but it still takes 2-3 hours to water both gardens and around the house. I rather enjoy it, although yanking the hoses around is frustrating at times if there is a kink all the way at the other end haha. -Cara
@@bluebirdhomestead OMG yes, the hose yanking lol...I actually don't have an outdoor spiggot yet, that should happen next month, so we are using the rain barrels as much as possible! I love that you save seeds, I haven't attempted that yet!
Amazing 🥰
thank you so much 😊
Beautiful garden Greetings I'm from Egypt

Hi Cara! That was a great garden tour. Your garden is sure producing alot of vegetables. That's to bad with the Beatles they can sure do alot of damage. Do you sell some of your vegetables? I enjoy your videos alot. By for now.💞

Looking great and very productive! I have some red currant tomato seeds and the packet said they grow large and will readily reseed, so I think I’m going to try them against a fence next year. Do they taste good?
Hi Laney! Yes they taste sooo good! They are extremely sweet. So far they are my favorite cherry tomato from the garden this year. It doesn’t hurt that they are adorable too haha
I want that massive tomatoes on a tomato sandwich .
Mhhhh Now I am craving a BLT haha. I can't wait for the big slicer tomatoes to be ready to harvest again this summer. -Cara
Great tour! I too have been struggling with the Japanese beetles. I gave in and purchased lure traps too. How are they working for you?
-Chelsea
Oh no! They are a terrible bug aren’t they? So far I think the traps have helped. I have also just been manually squishing them when I see them. They have definitely made a mess of the garden though. I have also noticed they flock to the wild milkweed around. So I have been sure to leave them as a sacrifice plant to let them chew on that vs my plants.
Thank you for the tour, Cara. What kind was that big tomato?
The big tomato variety is called an Abe Lincoln tomato 🍅 😊 It is delicious!
