I always wanted to write fanfiction but I'm hesitant to do it because I don't want to make my character a cliche. I mostly base my characters on people I know and a little bit of myself. The one thing I struggle with all the time is the conflict they go through internally and externally. I also struggle with character voice. Plus Planning out everything before I write and it's not really easy. 😆 I haven't anything in two years and I get writer's block a lot! Sometimes I get inspired but then I quickly loose it.
you got this! slowly start planning things out. starting of with the small things first and then working your way up is what i recommend. As, for writers block, it sucks and i’ve had it for months after months. Lastly, getting inspired is really all about having ideas and wanting to write. i talked a little bit about it in the video and how i find inspiration again when i do have writers block. don’t loose hope, you’re gonna do great when you start your book
So, this might sound weird but if you ever like drawing, use a base that you find on Pinterest and from there on just, draw the character. Improvise and boom! You have a character. You can also use references. I usually do that if they have a family and they have genetics from their mom or dad.

I just use Pixlr app to customise photos. Take the celebrity or whoever your character model is, add some text and maybe a filter and there. I like covers that are creative but easy on the eyes.

You can use a different name but when you're introducing your characters make sure to say "their actual name' and then "as the characters name"! if that makes sense.

The tips were pretty great but the first doesn't really click with me. What if the author made the cover happy or sad on purpose, e.g. let's say that I made a book about ummmm sakura and everything is cannon in the au until she reaches the age of five. If I made my cover sadlooking the reader will use their foresight and experience to make a finalized judgment that the book will be sad which would make the emotional beats predictable and less effective, but if I made the cover happy looking or have the cover have sakura on it with a bittersweet smile on her face or something the reader will probably think "oh this book is probably going to be an uplifting story about uselessness" then they get sucker punched in the gut, chin, face and/or the family jewels when the emotional beats happen. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. Chao.
