Very Nice !!! My Paternal Grandfather, who lived and is buried in Catherine Alabama, played in the claw hammer style since he was a teenager about 1903 . My brother still has the instrument. It has a smaller diameter head and a shorter neck than most modern ones. I live near Kingsport, Tennessee and used to take part in the living history events ( before age 65 ) near the Cumberland Gap. One of my mother's ancestors was slaughtered along with Daniel Boone's oldest son and four others in 1773 on their way to the Gap. After the treaty with the Cherokee in 1790, many thousands of pioneers came from the Carolinas through the southern route near Newport, Tennessee , then to Morristown, then to Tazewell and on to the Gap , bypassing the Old Wilderness Trail. Hope to hear more from you. Thanks so much !!! Robbie Etheredge.
