Thanks for the kind comments Nic, glad you are enjoying them! We do try, it's just hard to fit them in some times, me and Steve both work full time so only have an absolute maximum of one day a week. You can imagine how temperamental sea fishing can be too... weather, conditions, tide etc all play a massive part in if it's possible/worthwhile.
Nice one lads, great little video...it seems to have been a good year for the smoothies this year, as sad as it is the best of the summer is gone but hopefully an epic winter for the Cod quest?
Thanks for the kind comments Simon, glad you enjoyed the video. Haha... fingers crossed mate, hopefully we'll see a good few Cod this winter... it'd be nice! ;-)
Another great video Chris. We do catch every year more smooths from the boat and also from the beach here in the Netherlands. It's what you said a great sport fish to catch. On my channel i have also a video about smooths form the boat. Not the biggest but for us it is great to catch them. Thanks for sharing your top video. Tight lines...Greetzzz John
awesome video lol still need to get a smoothhound myself XD hope to see u do another beach fishing video. the bait presentation looks really impressive too lol
Hello Chris and Steve, I've mentioned this before on previous videos, I don't go sea fishing but always enjoy watching something different, this was another tremendous film, well done and thanks again, Neil Etherington
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it. Hmmmm all along the north Norfolk coast, at the right time of year and in the right conditions they're possible. I like the Trimmingham area though.
Awesome video Chris. Hopefully more to come. one of my favourite vids was when you lost your bucket of bait, scissors and bait elastic haha but still salvaged a good session, classic mate. off topic I know but have you got any tips on a deeply hooked fish? had a 9lb conger absolutely hammer a bait down his throat couple of weeks ago, nightmare! Anyway good work guys and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the kind comments Kev and for taking the time to post them, glad you enjoyed the video - hope your fishing is going well? Ahhh deep hooked fish, when sea fishing, can be a bit of a nightmare... if they are really deep hooked and you don't want to take the fish for the table the best thing to do is to cut the line as close to the hook as you can and release the fish. I've heard that the hook should corrode away and is probably better than the damage getting it out might do. If not I know one little tool they use for larger species like Conger, is the Gemini T-bar discorger. I've never personally used one, but have seem people using one before and they seen very good. Pop a search in on google and you should see it. Hope that helps a little. Cheers Chris
+From The Waters Edge TV Thanks for replying Chris and yeah I done exactly that although I've heard a few guys say best to dispatch the fish on the spot but I'm usually catch and release unless I'm trout fishing.. but thanks mate, I'll definitely look into those! might make things a bit easier. ah a little slow recently mate just one conger and a Pollock in the last few sessions, we had a decent June one session we had 15 thornback rays and a couple of doggies but not been very productive since although had a couple nice sea trout beginning of august! later this year we'll be targeting some big pike hopefully and hopefully get a bit more success than we've had this summer. I heard about you guys landing a tv slot, best of luck with it Chris.
Thanks for the kind comments mate, glad you enjoyed! Fingers crossed we'll have lots more sea fishing video's coming throughout the year! Tight lines, cheers Chris.
That was a really nice day fishing,I'm Alexandre and at the moment I'm watching your videos from Brazil! I leaved in Britain for 13 years and I always wanted to go fishing in the sea but I never hade the opportunity to. I'm returning to England February next year and would be nice to met ya for some fishing!let me know if that suits you. Looking forward to catch some nice fish! All the best!
Great vid as always.. Thanks guys. Coming up to north Norfolk the last week in September.( I don't know if you remember but I followed your advice last year and caught 3 smoothies from the beach in the hottest week in august) Looking to catch a few more this year but a month later. What is the best approach ? Same as your previous beachcasting vids ? Do you have any recommendations for bait suppliers within 15 miles of Bacton ? Cheers for now. ..... David.
Yeah same as last year I'd say David. Best bet would be to pop into Rite Gear (Between Sherringham and Cromer) they have some quality fresh bait and am sure they'd be able to give you a few pointers too.
Cheers. I know the shop. West Runton, opposite the pub. Great people. My shop of choice in the area. Obviously very well informed about the area and, for anyone who has never been there, don't think that the lady serving doesn't know her stuff !!! She is a fellow fisher !

I really enjoy your videos. I've always considered sharks as a pest species when targeting food fish but I've recently seen YT videos showing smoothies can be eaten too. Keep up the good work..
Depends on what you are fishing for mate. You'd be best to ask the skipper though, he'll be able to give you all the info on bait and tackle thats working.
It takes quite a bit of time to film and edited Kieran, there's only two of us (myself and Steve) and we both also have full time jobs and other commitments. We try to do as many as we can though. :-)

Cheers Damion, glad you enjoyed it! :-)
Great vid! what type of ground should you look for to target smoothhounds, shallow banks?
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! They can be caught over all sorts of ground, but around our area they are mainly found on shallow-ish sandy beaches.

I assume you are from the area (im not sure where bacton is compered to this but) try Birds Tackle in Bramford near suffolk water park

Cheers mate. Strangely enough, I was in there on Thursday buying some ammo !! ( I'm from Stow )
How come we never see the MV Ross Revenge when you leave Bradwell marina?
I don't know Mike, is that another boat down there?
From The Waters Edge TV Yes mate quite a big one its an ex Ross fisheries trawler converted int o radio Carolines radio ship, i spent many days aboard on the blackwater, its there right now, i enjoyed your video, bought a cheap rod and some lures going to have a go at sea fishing where i live in Lowestoft . What is the purpose of catching sharks (smooth hounds)? Do you eat them?
For sport Richard, you can eat them however I prefer to watch them swim away at the end. I don't eat a massive amount of fish.
I really enjoy your videos. I've always considered sharks as a pest species when targeting food fish but I've recently seen YT videos showing smoothies can be eaten too. Keep up the good work..
great video as always. please can you do some tips and tricks for sea fishing from the beach
Hi Michael, thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed it! No worries at all, we try and produce some beach fishing episodes when we can.
I'm thinking about going on the long boat fishing trip in wales please could you give me some advice on baits
Depends on what you are fishing for mate. You'd be best to ask the skipper though, he'll be able to give you all the info on bait and tackle thats working.
