My neighbors aren’t close enough for anything I do to make it through my walls, across both lawns, and through their walls...he’s not throwing a house party. The walls aren’t that thin. I’m sure he doesn’t want the responsibility that comes with a house though.

Its a huge misconception (especially among young ppl) that you need a ton of money to buy a house...mortgage is ALWAYS cheaper than rent and as long as you know how to save its overall way better and cost effective to just pay a mortgage and do your own repairs and maintenance when needed. Or pay someone else to come do them. either way, cheaper than rent. You could find a mortgage for a 3 bedroom house thats half the price of a 1 bedroom apartment depending on the neighborhood of course, but even if they both were in nice neighborhoods there is a good chance that an average sized house would cost you significantly less month to month (Im talking a few hundred at least) and get you more space. Not to mention all of the other benefits to owning property.
@THE VOID The only major hurdle of buying a house is getting a loan to match the house you want and you can help that by just saving so you can put down a larger percentage. Also you can rent to own if you cant get the loan. So there are options.
