  • I purchased this guitar second-hand in 2019, and it’s been a reliable companion through five contracts as a cruise ship musician. Despite exposure to varying humidity levels, I’ve never had issues with neck shrinkage or any other problems. It's a great instrument from Music Man’s budget line, originally priced ~$300.
I bought it in its stock configuration for only $140, but invested in a graphite nut, Vanson locking tuners, a Schaller 2-point tremolo, CTS pots, a Fender 5-way switch, and Fender Tex-Mex pickups. Basically, I got a super-strat with all the classic tones but with improved ergonomics.
I also custom-made the pickguard and, as you’ll see in the video, had to route extra space to allow the 2-point tremolo to float properly.
I really hope Sterling brings this model back into production. I'm tempted to go for an Axis, but with their prices now...
Enjoy the video, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

Very Cool, Thankyou. Stunning Guitar and Playing. Awesome. I purchased one of these similar time to you, in 'Dave Gilmour" black with white pickup covers and knobs, maple neck/fretboard and WOW, SO Amazing. The asymmetrical neck is one if not THE most comfortable/enjoyable necks I have played. Love this Guitar. Original owner has contacted me a few times now since 2019 to ask if i want to sell back to him..... sorry, no can do, lol. All the Best. Cheers
