    Annabeth has a hunch from the bathroom scene. He used water so she guessed who his father is off the facts available. She is the daughter of Athena after all.

    ALSO there’s a part in the books where percy thinks about his motivations for the mission and he admits he’s only doing it because he believes his mom is alive, he doesn’t care about the bolt that much. so you know they couldn’t portray that here given that it happens in his head, so the way they wrote it, with percy being against the mission BEFORE grover brings up his mom, delivers the idea PERFECTLY. example of how an adaptation should work

    17:10 She's the daughter of athena, it makes sense for her to easily piece it together. She also knows that she can use him as bait for Clarisse to win the capture the flag and at the same time kind of confirm her suspicioin about his godly parent. Two birds in one stone.

    I will say that in the book the only reason percy agreed to the quest was cuz he was going to try to get his mother back - and he actually came to the conclusion himself and didn’t tell anyone that’s why he was going - I recently reread the first book and they changed a lot of the beginning cuz literally the entire book is just percy asking expositional questions and no one answering him. It’s just him in a constant state of anger and confusion - he’s an incredibly angry kid and I love that they are bringing more of that out

      I honestly figured it was because since he's just a kid, it wouldn't make sense to give him a big and heavy sword that he can't carry. I assumed he might get a bigger sword as he gets older, but that makes sense too if the reason is because Greek swords are just smaller.

      @@mallikaanand7917 it honestly can go both ways but a few people had the sword before Percy who were adults so it’s probably that way because it’s a greek sword.

    Don't feel bad bud, I was talking my way through my first watch as well. I'm excited more than I was when it released because it follows the story in it's entirety. Everything feels perfect even when they make small changes, it works.
    Especially the reason he goes on the quest AT ALL being to rescue his mother. I love how they emphasized their relationship more and showed how that's the only reason he accepted the quest to begin with.
    Edit: they do show Thalia's tree when they show the hill.

    I guess I've become so used at searching for psychological, and sometimes somewhat existential pieces, it has become harder for me to accept shows like this. Not impossible (I love "Demon Slayer"), just harder.
    That, and I don't like the "I want to be normal" trope. It was not the best character introduction for me.
    You see, when I was 13, I played a game called "Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale series", and the game made me understand the true importance of power. It's true many twist it to their ends, but it still offends me when people downright trash it, because it's same as trashing a car or a computer.
    Then again, at that age, I did have fantasies of being an X-Men mutant who ran away with my idiolized crush. It was us against the world. I guess, I was just built different from most kids that age, who want to be heroes, or dream of family and being popular.

    • @heyitsmira17
      @heyitsmira17 8 месяцев назад +5

      Percy Jackson is more complex than it shows right away. Granted, it's only been 2 episodes, but there's something here already that does bring conflict for the rest of the series: gods neglect their children and treat them like crap just to constantly demand things from them that could/would get them killed. The monsters these kids fight are all pissed at them because of stuff their godly parents did before. So every misfortune that comes their way, before and after going to Camp Half-Blood, is the fault of their neglecting parents. Hell, Percy was lucky. Many kids never get claimed, no matter how much glory they try to obtain in order to be noticed by their parents. So... to fight for or against the gods - that sort of conflict is what moves this plot. And it's hard to clearly point out who's in the wrong.

      @@heyitsmira17 and yet, they want to honor them.
      It just irritates me that Luke is written as the bad guy, even though he's the only one with the right idea about most gods ! That's another reason why the saga is having a hard time getting through to me.

    Tennesse shirt girl is cute, but i wasn't impressed with this show s far. Most of the show felt as if it were deleted scenes from a dvd back then. The story would cut and then a whole new scene, I'm 30sh, understand the new generations attention span is short and well if its like that then I wont watch it bc this show is made for the younger generation All good and well hope the audience with this show will support and love it as much as i love greek Heroes.This show is not for me but i still found it tedious on how much they cut on every scene. Not a hater, just observing and realize its not a show for a grandpa like myself at 30.
