    Chris Gekker is Professor of Trumpet at the University of Maryland School of Music. He has been featured as soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
    In the Washington D.C. area, Chris is principal trumpet of the National Philharmonic at Strathmore, a member of the Post Classical Ensemble, the Washington Symphonic Brass, and frequently performs with many other groups. During the summer he is principal trumpet at the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina.

    I was fortunate enough to study under Mr. Gekker when I was a student at Brooklyn College CUNY, way back in the mid 1980's. His sound is still undeniable. Such a kind , humble spirit. Thank you for what you've invested in me Sir.

    Wonderful comments from a beautiful person and superb musician. Always humble, articulate, and appreciative of others and his profession...just a terrific human being! I feel truly fortunate having shared in many endeavors with him. Bravissimo!

    Looking forward to hearing Mr Gekker at NEC on April 7th at the Brass Bash. Lucky to live in Boston, where so much music is made.
