Great Video! Do not usually comment on stupid statements but here it goes. Cairoli is really fast and if he would go overseas and got used to the tracks he would have as many chances to win as the US riders. I do not forget when Cairoli on a 250f beated Villopoto and Tedesco on Des Nations 06! Same thing when comparing Everts to Carmichael. Almost 10 years of difference. One quitted at the age of 26 afraid of being beaten by JS7 the other beated him when he was 34 years old!
Also dont forget the individual titles at MXON. I bet nobody thought Villopoto would get beaten in a race by a 16 years old first race ever on a KTM 350, or that Dungey would get beaten by Roczen on a 250. I love the AMA, really looking forward to this season. Im a big RD fan & hope he can take the title again. He a proper sportsman, repects the competion and is a great ambasador for the sport. Shame chad, townley, RV & Canard are all out injured. Whos your money on? Stewart on Suzuki ?
Interesting comments. Pourcel went over to the AMA and won 2 lites SX back to back and should have won AMA outdoors but lost 1 to dungey due to bike failure and 1 to canard after a freek crash. albertine, langston, pichon have all won titles. MXON is a strange beast you can have the 2 fastest riders in the world & not win the overall, got to have 3 world class riders and most are lucky to have 1 or 2. USA has the largest poplution by far so will prob keep producing 3 ace riders & keep winning
In the past,mainly the 80s, riders from america wanted to compete in the world series and many of them did, after they won the amas. Now its a role reversal. I think the fact they keep winning the mxdns confirms it to themselves they are the best, and they now call themselves world champions without ever being it. Ive always supported riders from europe going to america and beating them, but they never really have. Tortelli came the closest of late. Will be interesting to see how roczen fairs.

Thanks for the civilzed reply. The continent of europe consists of 50 countries with a population of 733 million, so the usa certainly isnt bigger with 265 million people. Alot of americans talk about europe like its a country, its a continent. I take your point that in recent years some of the tracks have gone a bit supercross like but ama tracks are faster and more flowing. FIM are going to add thailand soon, dont ask me why, they stay mostly in europe to keep the travel costs down

I meant america was larger, not more populated,because i thought you were crediting travelling on the world series. I know its a continent (i live in it :)). I agree with you the FIM is still more desirable to win, because only then have you the right to call yourself world champion, and yes it is the home,but things change. With it widely accepted now that the fastest riders are in america, to be the undisputed champion you kind of have to win both.

Dont be ignorant. I didnt say the best riders go GP first. Love the way you missed Everts off your list of fastest riders, even RC said he was the fastest mud racer he has ever seen. Caroli had a bad MXON but still almost beat dungey in the qualifying race as he was quicker but couldnt get past him. Dont forget that Villopoto got beaten by a 16 year old "Herlings" on his fist ever race on a 350 and Paulin first race on a 450. Roczen beat Dungey riding a 250 also.

yeah but this season will be difficult for tony, Gautier Paulin and CP377 are gonna challenge him for the title. Mostly GP21 becouse i don't think CP377 is ablo to put a solid season together, he will have up and downs.

You dont know what youre talking about. Caroli beat dungey and reed at 09 nations race and herlings and paulin beat villopoto at 2011 nations race. Roczen beat dungey in 2011 nations race on a 250 so whats your point. Searle was coming back from injury in 2010 ama and still had podiums. clement Desalle has done a couple of ama races and podium'd, he beat stewart and almost beat dungey riding a borrowed bike. AMA is great and so is the world championships both have incredible fast riders.Agreed?

hahah dismal performance? begginers championship? you make me laugh all these guys including cairoli train their arses off putting in the laps and training they are top class athletes and deserve so much respect for what they do, cairoli has never called dungey a B grade rider and is famous partly for allways being a good fair sportsman and all round friendly guy you clearly know nothing of the sport.
and further more riders dont go from the ama to the world gp its the other way around. the best from gps come to us to try there skills against the best riders in the world. how many years in a row have usa won mxon?

as it would cost the teams too much to keep flying half way around the world. Bit like the F1 is mostly held in europe. MX was invented in the u.k and was being raced around europe before USA even new what it was so you could say that europe is the home of mx. Most GP riders that go to US will tell you they have two dreams, 1st is to become a world champ & go down in the history books & once they achieve this the 2nd is race in the USA in the sun. AMA needs more than 12 races dont you think?

Ever notice how the riders that do go to the AMA tend to want to get a 'World Title' first so they go down in the history books as the world champ, then they have a go at the AMA to get the big money and the sunshine. USA will always win the MXON as you need 3 world class riders not 1 or 2 like most other countries. Fact is caroli would beat villopoto in the GPs and Villopoto would beat caroli in the AMA so it depends what you have grown up racing on.
He's gonna try and beat the record Stefan Everts done in the gp:s. So i don't think he will race us nationals
mexico round an addition for this year. So you could say the world series is a european championship. America is a lot larger than europe!! All you need to know, is as soon as anyone starts to do good in the FIM series they want to go to america. Maybe its the lifestyle and money,but its also for the competition and tracks.Why should the americans leave their series when they know they have the best?
mx1 mx3 i think you will find villo got a good start and not one rider had pace to go near him. roczen got a start dungey didnt. villo won the mx1 mx2 2008 race on a 250 by over 20 seconds. against stewart? doesnt mean he was quicker. gp has some great riders, in mx2 though. clement didnt beat stewart. he beat a yamaha rider fresh from a massive injury on an untested outdoors bike which didnt work. ama has the fastest riders in the world. agreed? but the mx2 class has some amazing talent too.

How about Villopoto and RD give up their massive pay cheques and come and race the World Championships on the muddy technical tracks and prove they are the best. You have to respect anyone who wants to travel the world racing with all the different tracks and dirt, its too easy for americans to stay at home. Dont get me wrong the AMA is awesome but its only a national championship held in one country.

The first race desalle did he got a podium on a stock bike. Second race he was beating Dungey until the last third of the race. Desalle is a top 5 GP rider so how can you say the GPs are noy that good. If you take Villopoto, RD, chad & stewart out of the AMA all the rest are great riders but nothing special. There are 10 riders capable of winning GPs on different tracks, so even if sewart & villo are fastest on the planet that doesnt make ama better than the GPs because of all the other riders.
Firstly thanks for the sensible reply, but i disagree with most of what you say. The american tracks are way more technical than the FIM tracks. FIM tracks are mostly outdoor supercrosses, way too many man made jumps and table tops and with the tracks being constantly graded between races, hardly rough. AMA tracks are way more natural, rutted and a lot more physical and technical. I think america has mud too. You say travel the world but only 2 of the 16 rounds are outside europe, and the...

he gets beaten by pourcel desalle paulin and in the sand goes 3 seconds a lap slower the herlings on a 250. hes a dud and will get ass ra[ed by villo dunge reed stewart barcia canard. he knows this and after hes dismal performance at 010 mxon where he called dunge out as a 'b grade' rider he best stick in the begginners championship.

ken roczen and herlings would not beat dungey in a battle. yes at 010 roczen was unbeliably fast. actually less then half a second slower then cairoli and just over a second slower then dungey on a big fast track. herlings is damn quick too. especially in the sand. wow mud racer. twice a year. good work cairoli always has bad mxon whats ur point? herlings and maybe osborne are the only 2 that have a shot in the usa. searle proved he aint got shit. because they beat him across they didnt win.
