- This 1960s Tonka Truck Grill Restoration was a fun little side project. I noticed a lot of restorers are powder coating their grills with a chrome powder but there is nothing better than keeping it original. This Tonka truck grill needed a make over badly. I do autobody & paint, so i know the work it took to get that part ready. Came out great! Now you can rob banks cause you have no finger prints now. LOL. Merry x-mas & happy new year, stay safe.

How much time did you spend on each step? I am very much a novice that is interest in starting to do these types of restorations as a hobby.
Hi Joshua, I am not sure how much time I spent on each step. The 320 grit took me probably the longest. The whole thing from start to finish including filming it took about 8 hours. It would be less with easier pieces but the tough corners on this made it more difficult. I think you should just try starting it out. :) - R&R

Hi Terry, I want to show a different side to restorations then what a view normally sees. On top of doing full restorations I will be taking certain pieces from current restorations and creating small how to restore videos to help others get into doing these. I receive a lot of comments and messages from people telling me they want to get into doing this but dont know how to do some things. I am sorry this video did not meet your expectations. Hi Dr. Skip, the first semester went well. We did the first few weeks distance learning and then moved into a hybrid model. Overall I am very happy with how the semester went. I am really proud of my students for working so hard. Many students struggle with math in general but with covid, they really pushed through. Great job man! What metal did u plate that with? I do nickel plating but i like the look of yours when the black was about half sanded off...id like to try it out:..oh yeah hope you have an awesome Christmas!
