Just did an exercise where I wrote down my successes, fails, and how I handled those fails. Seeing these bigger stresses being overcome on paper makes it easier to see that I am competent in really tough situations, and that I should feel like I can trust myself to look out for me. I also wrote down my dreams and goals, something I haven't done since 2015...
this was awesome! I literally completed crashed yesterday. Stomach bug, recovery for one day, then driving 2 hours to do something for work, drove back 4 hours cause of traffic, came home and passed out on the bed. Slept for basically 13 hours. Woke up and listened to your video during breakfast.
I am so grateful for your care. I have been emptying out my childhood home i november and december with my father, who is a malignant narcissistist (he has similarities with a psychopath). He has been harassing, threatening us grownup kids, screaming his lungs out in our faces, retraumatizing all of us. Ever since we have been in this inheritance case with him for 2.5 years, he has been terrorizing us on and off - and I have been on sickleave while. It has just ended with us selling the house and emptying it. And I am so numb, drained and tired. Like I've been through war.
This wasn’t what I looked up, but having just escaped a toxic DV relationship of longer than a year, I think it’s a sign to watch this and begin the process of moving on and becoming a stronger person this year. Hopefully 2025 will lead me to many forms of healthy love; family, friends, I even plan to get a third guinea pig to fill in the space where I know my brain will be looking for a new connection to replace my old relationship to hopefully prevent me from accidentally trying to get into a new relationship before I’m truly ready.
