Big year for us, we started out in the UK but made the move to San Francisco, California, in August! Your videos now remind us fondly of the UK! Never commented on one but our top gigs were: Judas Priest, Tenacious D, Kid Kapichi / Rick Astley at Lytham, Buckethead, and a holy trifecta of Sabbaths that we saw across the year - Jazz Sabbath, Mac Sabbath & Zakk Sabbath. Come to San Francisco! :)
In no particular order my top 5 shows were Crowbar in Southampton, High on fire in Bristol and Green lung, Crypta and Xentrix at Bloodstock. Obviously another Bloodstock highlight was meeting you guys, Zakk was a bit distracted as your dad appeared but I did convince claire (well..agreed with her) that she should buy more merch! 😂. If your seeing Green lung in London I will probably see ya there! Happy new year to you both! 🙂
Happy New Year guys 😊 What a great year for Mead and Metal and Chub. It's been brilliant to be a small part of it and here's to an awesome 2025. My top five gigs and in no particular order because I can't separate them: Blind Guardian (London), just, wow;Amon Amarth (Bloodstock) Epic Viking Row; Opeth (Bloodstock) , I mean, it's Opeth, enough said; Evil Scarecrow (Milton Keynes), completely bonkers; Evergrey (London) proper Swedish Prog Metal - what's not to like 😁 I present my submission to The Council....
Not only did I get to meet you guys but my biggest highlight was having my little boy. He is now nearly 2 months old and growing fast. I can't wait for you guys to potentially meet him when I come to Brighton on holiday in march 😊
This video just affirms how good a channel mead & metal is! I only found the channel about a year ago, but what a year. Watched all the videos, some multiple times. It's my fave channel on RUclips, so much fun, and music, and the nature walks are lovely. I'm ALWAYS really excited when I see a notification pop up mead and metal. Let 2025 get the channel to 100k subs! Happy new year
Thanks for all the amazing vlogs last year guys and hope you had a great christmas period and new year. Was lovely to run into you at bloodstock again and hopefully will see you there this year. Chub were great on there. Top 5 gigs of the year for me 1. Amaranthe- Big band for me as they were one of the bands that i got really into in the pandemic. So getting to see them live finally made me very happy. 2. Fear factory- Saw them twice last year once on there own tour and once at download. One of my big gateway bands into metal so it was really good for me. Obviously im so stoked to see them at boa 3.Blind guardian- Saw them in manchester first time seeing them blew me away. The power metal fan in me was very happy. 4. Body Count ft Ice T- Got to see them in july. They rarely tour the uk so felt really special add in the fact i got to meet Ice T post and got my ticket signed is really fun. 5. Lacuna Coil- Best ive ever seen them and just made me hyped for bloodstock next year.
Damn it, I just love your videos. The sentence "subscribe to mead & metal" is in my head more often than not. My favorite gigs were: Korn, Asenblut, Cradle of Filth, AC/DC, The Warning
Awesome 😊You guys always put a smile on my tace! Top 5 gigs of 2024 for me were: Sepultura and Jinjer at the Barrowlands in Glasgow. Mid-sized venue with brilliant sound. Arch Enemy. Loved your vlog on them and In Flames.I like IF but AE just speak to me, musically and politically. Alissa and Angela are heroines to me❤ Agree with Claire - I'd love to see AE in a smaller venue with decent sound Anthrax. Hydro in Glasgow. Awful venue but I hid in the mosh pit close to the PA where the sound was better 😁 And, 5th; Hawkwind! I LOVE Hawkwind and, although Dave Brock now needs a wee sit down part-way through the set, they've still got it! I also met a lovely girl there who was wearing the same t-shirt as me. It was my own Wheezer Teenage Dirtbag moment ❤😂. See you guys at Bloodstock, hopefully!
great videos and great year, you two! Well... in 2024, you guys along with a few others inspired me to make my own metal-y, gig-y type channel for 2025 based in germany, videos in both german and english... I'm sure that's not a stupid idea that I'll regret at all. First gig in 3 days... we'll see how that goes ^^; But thank you for all you guys do
I’m not even in to that type of music but Green Lung’s set at BOA was amazing. They just had the crowd even the ones like me who had no clue about them.
Ah are you guys going to the Kentish Town Forum Green Lung gig?! We'll be there as well, will be my 5th time seeing them (Laura) and Rob's 7th! Those lads are immense! Our gigs of 2024 though! (We only wrote 3 for our podcast lol) Laura 1. Tesseract, Kentish Town Forum 2. Korn, Gunnersbury Park 3. Fit For An Autopsy, Electric Brixton Rob 1. Teenage Wrist/Angel Dust, Oslo 2. Tesseract, Kentish Town Forum 3. Ginger Wildheart at Esquires Though I think we'd both put Green Day in as an honourable mention as well since we both put that as our Set of The Year (Dookie and American Idiot in full?! What's not to love)! Happy New Year to you both! 🤘🤘
I think four of my five favourite gigs of the year were at Bloodstock: Opeth, Green Lung, Evergrey, and Amon Amarth are probably the four, and then my fifth would be Fellowship in September. Totally understand the Green Lung love, amazing to see them playing at much bigger venues next month finally! Thank you guys so much for another great year of videos! Incredible to see your channel grow over the last year, here's to an amazing 2025! 😁
