I have the Crua tri and I absolutely love it. I was very tempted this season to install a stove jack in the vestibule area but since I paid so much for it I haven’t brought myself to cut a hole in it yet for my tent stove.
My girlfriend and I said goodbye to our apartment here in Denmark and moved into a camper about a month ago. And while our camper came with a large attachable tent and a wooden floor, we quickly learned that the tent is too cold and too uninsulated to use now that we are getting close to winter. The amount of space in the camper is fine, but with the both of us working from home we have been wishing for our tent to be varmer so we could use it as additional work space. We spend the last month looking for a solution, and the best one we could come up with was to put up a smaller tent inside our main tent to act as a closed space. This was when my girlfriend stumbled upon CRUA Outdoors and your insulated tents, which seemed like the perfect solution since your tents are better at keeping the cold out, and are more noise reducing than the average tent. This is especially a huge bonus since part of my work involves recording video lessons with voice over for my students. My work space only require a small desk for my laptop and second screen, and a chair. So we are now hoping that after ordering the "The Crua Tri (Mark 3)", it can function as a portable "studio" :) We are very excited!
Hey @mmtuts, That's awesome that you will be living in the Crua. We have a customer in England also living in the Crua Tri and he is getting on great. We'd love to hear from you. If you get the chance drop me an email - aislinnw@cruaoutdoors.com
I was excited to see a such a well built tent company so close to where I live, Syracuse, NY. I'll be stopping in next time I'm up there. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You need to add a bucket floor sewn into the walls in the vestibule to stop water, snow, mud or other things getting in....it keeps everything clean and dry, gives you a place to put yr gear or relax out of the weather....
Love the tent was looking to get one my self but seeing u next to it I can see u can not stand up to get dressed so that is a problem u need.it a few feet taller say at least 7ft head ht. Other then that love the color make it in wood camouflage as well, and can u put a cold rateing? Can it really be for winter? And.is it a 1 peace solid tent and floor besides the lining?
wild woods warriors what you want is a condo in the woods. Even leantos don’t have enough room to stand in. I do suggest to you hammock camping. Set the tarp as high as you need if that is your preference. I’m in my Warbonnet Outdoors Blackbird XLT right now, inside my house! I have four couches but where am I? Exactly! That says comfort!!!!
Make one that fits in a van or rv...a smaller enclosed area....for winter camping....tons don't run heat at night. I'd buy 2 tomorrow. Sounds crazy I know
Do the windows have clear plastic inside the mesh? Also over the outside of windows an upper shade to deflect rain. Good looking tent. Far better than my old canvas tent. Best
Can you make it with an option not to have the bulky inner insulation? For backpackers, and make it so you can both carry half of it? I love the shape of it
I intend to get one of these tents as warmth is the #1 thing to me but I will leave feed back on 1 thing I did notice the bottom all around the tent is open so rain could seep from underneath could there be a barrier added that goes into the ground around the tent or something? Not a fan of water
Hi Robert. The front porch has a small gap, but the actual inside of the tent is fully sealed (wall and floor are sewn together) so no water would get in. Let me know if you have any other questions :)
In your opinion, what tent would you recommend a pregnant woman to have; if she had to live in that tent for, not only a long period of time but, in crazy weather such as snow rain ect. What would you pick?
For extended periods you really need a large, comfortable, semi permanent structure with ample living space and a warm, insulated sleeping area. The Crua Loj would be our choice and we already have a number of customers living the Loj's - We also have one of our ambassadors living in a Crua Tri, which uses the same insulation technology. You read more about his story here: www.cruaoutdoors.com/pages/fabrizio-lo-faro
A lot of comments and rewievs about using this Crua Tri tent in cold weather, and practically no feedback about the hot weather conditions. Is there any real experience how do you feel inside the cocoon when at summertime the sun starts to heat in the morning? Also please comment can i order this tent with delivery to Russia.
Thanks for your comment! The cocoon is temperature regulating so it does keep you cool when the sun is out. As for delivery to Russia we unfortunately don't ship here. Apologies for any inconvenience!
I am looking to purchase this tent, it seems incredibly well thought of. Do you guys provide or have available a ground sheet or footprint for this tent? In addition what are the future prospects of either adding an extension to expand the vestibule or zipping panels to the side of the awning for the same purpose. Having said all that are you thinking of a 4 person version?
Hi r barr, Thank you for your question. No it does not have all of the features. The Hybrid was built as a hiking tent, we have built an insulated air mattress and a sleeping bag to give some insulation. However the walls of the tent do not have the same insulation as the Crua Tri. What type of camping are you looking to do? Maybe you can email us at aislinnw@cruaoutdoors.com if you wish to discuss further?
bought a tri few weeks ago, updated version. When i got the package i didnt expect it to be that bulky. Had to walk to its first campingspot by dragging it behind me for 2,5 km/1.5 miles since cars werent allowed in that part. Have to say the bag really did well on the bad roads i had to drag it on. What made the walk very troublesome was the handle though. i would have liked to see another handle more geared to the bottom on the other side of its wheels. Because now i just lifted it halfway and could only make little steps or else the back of the case would hit my calves/heels by every step. So Im considering a different way of packing the tent. Was also thinking of using a vacuum bag for the inner tent or will i be able to damage the fabric with this? Tent itself, easy to setup. Truly dark inside with the inner tent closed, but can't really judge about the insulation yet. still had to use quite some cloth to stay warm at night. with around 10'C wet/humid weather. Did leave the whole tent open though before sleeping. Tbh im not that experienced yet with camping. So different routine could leave to a better warm and comfy experience. Did expect a better noise demping though, but that isnt my primary concern, since i bought this tent primarily for temperature insulation. When Im prepared enough i want to try and start living in this tent all year round. Just a pointer that is crossing my mind atm: Missing info on maintenance and how to get the best experience/performance out of the tent/insulation. Also considering using a woodstove/rocketstove for wintermonths. But problem would be the chimney. Dont want to cut into the fabric just for this. Any suggestions? Anyway, time is still on my side i guess to bring me the right ideas. Still i want to thank you for this product. It truly brought my fantasy closer towards the real deal.
Hi Eric. First of all thank you for supporting us and giving us such awesome feedback! It's a great and very valued suggestion. Something that we will for sure bring forward when manufacturing. I belief it will be ok for you to use a vacuum bag. I don't see any major issue with this. Let us know how you get on with it. You can email support@cruaoutdoors.com. In terms of the temperature, have you seen our temperature test video yet? I'll provide link below. That's pretty awesome that you are going to live in the tent all year round. We would love to hear more about your plans for this and how we can support you. In terms of the stove, you will need a flashing kit. Otherwise, you could look at the possibility of a battery operated heater? Talk soon, The Crua Team ruclips.net/video/uz-Q-UjoG4U/видео.html

I am curious as to the pack weight, have you put it through both a rain test and high wind test and what were the results? What about snow conditions?
