@@tarinaszemzo1583 McCartney allegedly told Keith Richards he never said that. They started off as a blues cover band when they first formed but about 70% of what they recorded since have been songs they wrote.
You can see it both ways. The Beatles had their universe of music and the Stones had theirs... both different in approach, attitude etc.. I can't tell what's better, really love both. My favorite albums are Revolver and Beggars Banquet.
Mixed Emotions is a GEM !! This is not 'Hit' material at all ! One for hard core fans & BRILLIANT too, along with other Voodoo Lounge b-sides, Cook Cook Blues, I'm Gonna Drive & Jump On Top of Me !! Mick says he wrote them all in an afternoon on Don Was's instructions / suggestion !!!
@Mike Barooshian the stones have never sold like hot cakes! There not the Beatles! The stones never sold much even Coldplay sold more, and U2 and Oasis but that’s deserved! The stones are still the best but they are not commercial
Back in the late 70s I saw The Stones at Red Rocks Amphitheater Red Rocks Colorado me and my 69 Z28. I was the last one out of there . I waited and Mick came out I dtood face to face with the legend Mick Jagger what an Honor to my Grave I take this memory. Hell Ya
It's all good, I love the blues, I'm an old Stones fan, whoever is on the keyboards reminds me of the LATE GREAT Nicky Hopkins ! and how many rivets are on that sizzling cymbal !? I've never heard this song till today .... WTF This is better than the studio version
he 12-inch remix of "Mixed Emotions" by producer Chris Kimsey was rereleased on the Rarities 1971-2003 compilation, in 2005, along with "Fancy Man Blues." Track listing "Mixed Emotions" (7-inch version) - 4:00 "Mixed Emotions" (Chris Kimsey's 12-inch) - 6:10 "Fancy Man Blues" - 4:54 thanks janet
damm, such a cool ass song. i have never heard it until today . its on favorites list. thanks for posting . definately gonna practice playing along with this one. thanks again.
I think that with this great new album and upcoming tour, the stones have proven they are truly the greatest rock nroll band of all time, taken in toto.
I went thru 2 Vinyl Singles till i managed to find it on cd. THE LAST REALTRUE STONES CLASSIC. Should have made the steel wheels album, classic B Side. This is an early mix.
Just another example of how the Stones stand alone . No question the best rock blues band that ever was . Totally out of John and Pauls reach .
mccartney called' em a blues cover band, which is not too far from the truth.

clearly one of their best tunes without a shadow of a doubt; fact
@Mike Barooshian it's actually more than bluesy, for it is straight up blues, which is the very source of rock & roll.

Doubt that. They now use all technics, and are very commercial by showing their consistance. .@@dondamon4669
These are the REAL Stones.......RIP Brian
