I was so confused when I first saw the movie and these scenes caught me off guard, I thought it was going to be one of those movies that have homoerotic scenes but at the end it's just tension to play with the spectator, but dynamic was just so funny and chaotic!! Hear me out people,, after i watched the whole movie twice i came to the conclusion that, the character Atsushi is closted gay boy,, there are several instances to this in refrence to the movie, after he got the mysterious liquid in his brain, he couldn't control his actions therefore he liked manabu and wanted him to be freinds, among all the affected people he did not kill manabu,,,, it's just my point of view..... great movie btw
you misunderstood a bit... the 'thing' or mysterious liquid is attracted to manabu because manabu likes violence and dark stuff for which he joined the cops. manabu tells atsushi that he doesn't like men then atsushi asks him what he likes. so this thing goes into that female doctor's brain to get closer to manabu and then finally in the brain of his lover. so basically its the 'thing' which is attracted to manabu cant really say it about atsushi tho

Manabu (the tough looking guy) said "I'm not interested in man" and Atsushi replied "What is interest in man" because (*spoiler alert*) Atsushi's body is actually possessed by an alien, and the alien doesn't understand human emotion but was drawn to Atsushi (I could be wrong..watched this almost 15 years ago..also don't recommend cause I remember it being gory with awful plot writing that wasted all the good actors) But the chemi between this two is highkey fire www

But if you want spoilers then *Spoiler* Manabu (the detective) was always fascinated with the crime scenes from an early age that's why he joined forces. An alien in the form of water (Nanika) possessed the first victim, a lady and started killing people and after wearing out her body it possessed the 2nd victim, Kimura (this handsome guy in the clip) who was a closeted gay. When Kimura touches Detective it sensed his excitement of the crime scenes and falls in love with him. So what you see in this clip, is the alien in Kimura's body trying to woo the detective by decorating crime scenes and kissing him. But detective shows no interest in a man let alone a murderer so Kimura asks who does he like because he's rejecting him. This alien has no sense of gender before so after this scene it becomes aware of it and chooses it's 3rd victim wisely.
