I am an old white woman and I hope you don't mind me tuning in, I always learn so much, when I heard Allen west go with that old argument I was so mad I couldn't scream at him madthat I wouldn't know what to say, even if he could hear me, I knew you would tell us, but I wasn't prepared for that about 4 minutes in I was crying, I'm not an educated or a religious woman , that was so beautiful , the words the passion the knowledge.

Roland Martin left out this 'little tidbit' for the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
There were 22 Congressional Districts for the state of Texas. 20 of those Congressional Districts were ran by Democrats. Of the 20 congressional districts only 4 Democrats voted "Yes." The 16 other Democrats voted "No."
Isn't he from the greater state of Texas as he boasted about?
Barry Goldwater and Nixon had to do very little with this so-called "Southern Strategy."
The Democratic Party, although voted overwhelming "No" for the Civil Rights Act, however, no longer had power in representing their voting constituents, but nonetheless remained and supported LBJ's welfare program to keep AA from having any real economic power in this country. Now that they were going to gain an overwhelming amount of their votes from Black voters.
The same racist propaganda remained with the voting party. There were only 3 Dixiecrats in Congress who switched political parties. Strom Thurman (Biden's mentor) was one of them.

In fact, voter ID is also a racist trick cause it amounts to a poll tax if you have to spend a dime in the process, including on the ID itself, transportation and fuel to go get it or on any other document, such as a birth certificate, to prove your status. It's just something else to make voting more difficult for people to whom securing an ID isn't easy as it sounds. IDs weren't needed for centuries until the century in which black folks started voting in mass. Voting and IDs do not go together. It must be a totally unhindered process to have a true democracy.
