Chloe is so sweet and selfless even at 9 years old.
I wished that Abby with how she is saying now she never should of put all of her eggs into one basket meaning Maddie with how Maddie treated her in future that she would of let the other girls know they were stars as well. Chloe was and is a great dancer. And Christi concerned about them and her hubby shown how overwhelmed she was and trying to do best for her family. If I was her friend and another mother in there I would of offered to take Chloe home and let Christi go and do what she needed so by the time I would of brought Chloe home Christie would of had her dinner ready so she could eat and do her homework.

Christi is amazing. She was concerned about Chloe and was overwhelmed/stressed about getting everything done. There's nothing "wrong" with being stressed out at times.
MissyPanda33 first of all, you have no idea on their family situation. He may work a lot and is on a lot of stress himself. They may not be communicating well enough so that he knows she needs help. There are a lot of possibilities and of course it is possible that he is a jerk, but to call him that with no substantial evidence is absurd

Princess Shelley as a parent, it’s her job to make sure her daughter is healthy mentally and physically. Dance companies bother than ALDC would never put this much stress on a child. You have no idea how heard these girls work and that they need rest. Also, these moms are also under so much pressure, and they are worried for their kids. People are humans, we aren’t immortal and we break under pressure. You need to grow a heart.

Yes she could’ve been nicer but this is how Abby teaches and this is why she wins. It was wrong for her mom to cry in front of her again no child should have to see that.
@@mynewlifegoals3716 They are Children, they are bound to cry from time to time. Yes you have to be tough in order for them to win but Abby crossed the line here. Also a mother can cry in front of a child, in my opinion it shows children that it's normal to cry sometimes. That you shouldn't have to hold it in and keep it buried until you cant anymore.

Ikr, I almost cried because when you’re a child, you never get that chance to show proud to your family, I feel sorry for Christi, I was happy that she made Chloe a dancer while she never had the chance to become a dancer
I think that chloe had depression from a young age. You can see it in the way she tries to hold it all in. Chloe holds it in until she physically cant anymore. The way she comforted her mother, she is taking in all that sadness and stress and emotion from her mother. The yelling that she gets from Abby makes her sad but she doesnt cry most time. And the way that she says she needs a break but "it's okay" is just sad. She is making an excuse why her happiness means less than dance.
I agree. I think that Chloe had Depression and Paige had anxiety but Abby only cared about their dance career not their mental health.

A lot of people don’t understand why people like Chloe over Maddie in this whole battle. Chloe represents the part in us that always feels like they aren’t good enough and that people are always pressuring them to be something else. Chloe is so pure with her love of dance. Yes, Maddie is too, but she starts to develop an attitude sometimes... We inherently want to go to the underdog, the secret talent, the diamond in the rough.

@@omao4938 first of all I do not hate Maddie she is one of the bests in the competition and I like her but she can sometimes be a little bratty and spoiled. The whole drama thing is also true but it is not all drama some of the girls behaviours are real. It is not that I think Maddie is COMPLETALY brat but sometimes she can be a one:)
When we grow up we are conditioned to root for the underdog. Stories like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and David and Goliath and The Little Engine That Could all condition us to root for the underdog. And in sport they make a huge deal if the non-favorite wins. Thing is life isn't a story though. In reality often the best person wins and the underdog winning or succeeding isn't reality. There's also a reason why someone is an underdog usually and why someone is more likely to succeed.

Me: That's a mom who is stressed and genuinely cares about the well being of her children over some stupid dance competition. Who cares what Maddie does, whenever it was real competition or audition, Chloe would always be the one to win.
this was when they did go to real competitions. They both won their age divisions but Maddie won the overall junior crown. Abby's just pointing out why these things happen.

I think Abby disliked Chloe because Chloe loved her mom and her family, she enjoyed dancing and she has talent, but her family still came first.
With Maddie it was the opposite, Maddie never had the same bond with Melissa, that’s why she was Abby’s favourite. Although all these years later, I’m sure Chloe is a far happier young lady with much better life skills than Maddie.

It’s sad to say but that’s the competition dance life. I remember being a freshman in highschool and doing competition dance it was one of the most stressful years I ever did dance. I would wake up at 6:30 go to school then come home change and go straight to dance until 9 pm then come home shower and do homework. There legit were some nights where I wanna wouldn’t go to bed until 2:30 and I did that five days a week. The competition dance life is HARD I would even say it’s probably one of the hardest sports to actually do.

Actually it’s illegal in the industry to have a child stay for over 8 hours. They have to cut them right at the 8 hour mark from call time, even if they didn’t use them at call time.
At this point all of the girls still went to public school. So they were only at the studio from about 3 until 9.

This scene always makes me so sad! I always felt Christie was on the verge of a breakdown from looking after two young kids, making sure they have everything and maintaining a good home and lifestyle. Sad that Abby didn’t recognise that Christie needed a bit of help or empathy.

All that needed to happen was for Chloe’s mom to leave her at the studio so that she can go home and take care of the house before traveling. As far as Chloe needing a break, I feel sad for her that she didn’t choose to be a dance kid her mom did, but I guess it’s about learning good work ethic. Like how much do you want this?
If you were watching, they were fixing costumes and props. Abby makes them do it at the studio. And later in the season, she has a go at Holly for not being at the studio 24/7 with her kid.

To people saying that Christi and Chloe were being dramatic I just need to remind you of something.
Because you had to be all the way committed to be on the competition team, these kids would have to put dance over social lives and even education.
Keep in mind that Chloe is a 9 year old girl at the time, and she was getting overworked at the studio being there so long and getting pushed to her limits every night. Christi is my favorite dance mom, she cares for Chloe and it shows. She really wanted Chloe to have a good life, which she did in my opinion. Good mom, great dance studio, although the times for classes were crazy.
