- India has one of the oldest and largest film industries in the world. It’s been more than a generation that we are part of this magnificently beautiful world.
There’s no need to explain what Bollywood is to us. It’s like oxygen for our entertainment, without it our lives are colorless like a monochrome filter.
When bioscope used to come in the local streets, children used to gather around it to peep and experience this “CHALTA PHIRTA CINEMA”. Bioscope as a concept is intriguing enough to make any person peep into it.
We all have been hearing from our parents about the “BIOSCOPE WALA” since our childhood. How they used to hear the music from a distance while sitting at their places and then a spark of excitement used to ignite inside them, which made them run to their balconies & call out their friends.
Bioscope, which once used to rule on the streets of India eventually got submerged in the ocean of time as technological revolution hit the entertainment industry.
We as a team from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (DU) just want to put some light on this “lost form of an art” which once used to rule on the streets of India and eventually got plunged because of the technological advancement. To do so will cover the opinions of the bioscope practitioners and manufacturer in the capital region.
