I run non DnD games at my local game shop and the one that has gotten by far the most enthusiastic response from players has been Dragon Bane. They all try to understand why they love it so much but can't always put their finger on it. I'm running it Saturday for Free RPG day and I already know it's going to be a hit.

Dragonbane is hands down one of my favorite games. My game group played Pirate Borg campaign using Dragonbane and it was a great time. We are currently playing the Elder Oak adventure written for OSE using Dragonbane.

@@dranorter the campaign lasted 8-9 sessions and was great fun.
Strongholds were in the Gigant expansion for drakar and demoner the followup to expert
Our group is three sessions in to our Dragonbane campaign and it's a BLAST. The initiative and combat system is surprisingly deep, and the choice of whether to push their rolls is always interesting. The monster design is evocative, punchy and easy to run, and the adventure is really well designed. Can't recommend this enough.

34:03 You could give gms a bucket of heroic abilities that they're allowed to give out that don't refresh until they've given out an assortment of different types. Or if you want to make it player facing, have role-playing achievements that allow players to roll on a table of heroic abilities that are thematically appropriate.
I just got into Vaesen as my first game-master experience, I really hope they keep supporting it because it is awesome!
Tomas and Free League and Dragonbane are just awesome. ❤. But seriously Free League is knocking it out of the park with all their TTRPGs. ❤
