It needs to be donated to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame or The National Archives, this is history, it needs to be preserved not to rot in your mom's basement
Just anecdotal, but many of the hardcore guys I know also love pop punk. I even recognize people from being at both type of shows. Shit seems to be a lot more accepting now, but I can’t really say since I’ve only really been in the scene since about 2015
Nobody really payed much attention to the small, changed details in Reinventing the Wheel... ("new" at the time of this video) as it is on the album compared to how it sounds live 8 months before the release of their first full album. I love videos like these, Chris.
such a good set and so much props for being one of the only bands who wouldn't bail on playing a hardcore show, hell they were about to be the first band to play in Antarctica if it wasn't for the weather. such good guys. thankfully I've gotten to see them well over 10 times in my life.
Holy crap, this is amazing. I dont blame you one bit for wanting to keep a little something personal for yourself. You weren't a random fan & this isnt a random band. These are friends & the tape is like home movies. You're not obligated to share a goddamned thing no matter how much people whine. I'm seriously grateful you posted what you have. It's a tiny glimpse in history at a moment in time when FOB was on the cusp of something magical.--coffeeismygod--
I grew up in the scene in Chicago a couple years behind these guys I come back to this video a couple times a year just to be in awe of how many incredible bands came out of this area in five years time. Without the aid of record labels without the aid of RUclipsr the internet. Message boards and back alley shows. Though I was not at this show, I was around many like it. This was a great reminder of one of the coolest times in my life. Crazy to think that now I have a daughter on the way this seems like it was world's ago. Chris thanks a ton for posting this
I remember being in high school and everyone saying that I should go check out this new band Fallout Boy... I never did... 😂. Rule #1 listen to the cool people in high school that like the same music as you. Rule #2 Don't judge a band based off of the crowd reaction they get in high school
I'm in a punk band and we set up in a parking lot to a skate park once and got the cops called on us because we did not have authorization to do that, so the people in the concession stand called the pork patrol on us.
This was one of my favorite shows i ever went to. Misery Signals (before they even released a demo) opened the show 20 minutes before doors actually opened. If this show was to happen today with all the bands on it, it would have to be at an amphitheater. ETID and This Day Forward were the 2 bands that stole the show. Terror and Unearth were really good too.
And now they're playing on arenas celebrating an international tour for their 8th album. I couldn't be any more prouder of how far those boys have come
Thanks for uploading these. You don't know how amazing it is to see my favourite band's early performace that too in such a raw and uncontrolled setting. It's unlike any other live show. :')
I really love the fact that Chris only decided to share a couple of clips from this show and cherishing the rest as memories. It really shows how important experiences and memories are to him, a similarity I noticed between him and myself. Whenever I'm having fun I already know that that moment would soon become a memory, so I try to live in it as much as possible. Kind of like where I read somewhere that he collected urinal cakes from one arena somewhere...love this band and Arma
This is actually legendary…. So smart to keep it to yourself! We all definitely appreciate the video though! Imagine how many videoed are around of so many celebrities we have no idea about
i come back to this set so often and cant believe how far theyve come! i appreciate you sharing these with us. as someone who was 10 at the time of this set and 13 when i first heard them, im weirdly nostalgic for a time i just barely missed.
Anything that peaks levels would, naturally, sound better in Mono than gouging your ears out in stereo. It's like you're saying you're mad at the past for not being as technologically advanced as we are presently?
I consider this proof that they got every bit of success they deserved. They may have been playing to a crowd out of their genre and few people may have known them but they made the absolute best out of it.
My coworker was at that show, this was 14 months before I was born, be he said that growing up in oak park and Chicago in general, he saw this stuff all the time
I really hate how the top two comments are people ripping on Chris. Shut the fuck up guys. It's his footage and they're his friends; he can do what he wants with it.
dude, that's pretty true. like it or not (some ppl don't) FOB are a part of music history. they were arguably the biggest band in the world at one point (circa '07-08) this footage is historic. plus its just plain awesome
Alex Lundrigan At the end he says that other bands are gonna play and there's merch for sale somewhere and then he jokes around saying that bands that are actually good are gonna play nkw
I miss punk rock FOB, I remember my dad's friend giving me the first pressing of take this to your grave when I was 8. shit was so tight. music they make today just isn't the same at all.
I never understood why Patrick plays a lot of lead stuff when he was in FOB, did Joe suck or something? Even in later stuff Pat was playing lead parts and singing during live shows.
Rivers in Weezer is the same way. I think it’s just a lot of the musical compositions are written and formed by Patrick so you know, if he wrote the riff, it’s gonna be easier for him to play it than Joe
my left ear enjoyed this
Bowegirl02 same
LOLL
Ive been deaf in my right for like a year so i had absolitely no clue till i saw this comment😂
IKR
My left headphone is broken
oh my god patrick and joe would've still been in highschool here
I think Patrick had just left, he was seventeen I think when Pete introduced him to the band. Also, Joe's a little older than him I think
I knew them when they were in high school. Patrick, anyway. They were nice.
@Lucy Hardy-Styles-Shield No Joe's a few months younger. Patrick's birthday is in April, Joe's is in September
@@Heathonistreally?
That line up is stacked with future badasses.
Yeah it's wild to see that
It needs to be donated to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame or The National Archives, this is history, it needs to be preserved not to rot in your mom's basement
Back when hardcore/straightedge guys were cool and accepting of other genres and not up their own asses like today.
+Cameron Lamb aren't they shouting something about a guy looking like a girl at the end? that isn't very accepting
I'd think that has more to do with appearance than the actual music.
Dude it's bad. Glad you see it
These guys watching look pissed lol
Just anecdotal, but many of the hardcore guys I know also love pop punk. I even recognize people from being at both type of shows. Shit seems to be a lot more accepting now, but I can’t really say since I’ve only really been in the scene since about 2015
All those kids are like "Im too hardcore" and iM CRYING
not even patrick knows fall out boy lyrics
I would've been literally jumping off the walls if i was at this show.
mothermaggie1 I’m fucking jumping off the walls rn I fucking live there
You wouldn't cause no one knew their upcoming explosion of success
Nobody really payed much attention to the small, changed details in Reinventing the Wheel... ("new" at the time of this video) as it is on the album compared to how it sounds live 8 months before the release of their first full album.
I love videos like these, Chris.
Pretty sure that was just patrick forgetting the lyrics to the second verse lol
The guys watching this show look like theyre thinking "these guys wont last a week"
such a good set and so much props for being one of the only bands who wouldn't bail on playing a hardcore show, hell they were about to be the first band to play in Antarctica if it wasn't for the weather. such good guys. thankfully I've gotten to see them well over 10 times in my life.

5:24 Love the guy in the aduience drumming along with his hands. He must know the song and be a fan.
CHRIS! We all love you as much as the band! Thanks for the upload you god!

It's actually amazing how they can go from playing on a half-pipe in a skate park to selling out Wembley Stadium.
+Jinglebells Jinglebells Bayern all the way I'm emotional pls
Like many huge bands ^^ Look at Oasis, they went from bars to Maine Road Stadium / Knebworth in 2 years, Earls Court in something like a year ..
hey chris, you were our only friend
Thanks for sharing this, dude. Always cool to see things from the band's infancy.
omg man they played on a half pipe at a skate park. how punk rock can you get?!!?!?
I'm in a punk band and we set up in a parking lot to a skate park once and got the cops called on us because we did not have authorization to do that, so the people in the concession stand called the pork patrol on us.
around the 2001-2003 era?
My favourite is the dude plugging his ears the whole time
+Mike Saikaley xD i just noticed him...
Rise Against and Everytime I Die was on that bill
Every time I die 💕
Thanks for sharing this, Chris. It's appreciated by all of us from those days.
that local scene in those days definitely had a look... haha i love it

so much nostalgia watching this, i miss my favorite band.
thank you for sharing, chris!
Completely insane! Fall Out Boy rock!
"Dead On Arrival" live... woah man
Reinventing The Wheel To Run Myself Over Again live?!
It's oddly endearing to hear Pete fumble the bass intro to Reinventing the Wheel.
Crazy when a band is on the brink of being huge, and nobody knows it
And now they're playing on arenas celebrating an international tour for their 8th album. I couldn't be any more prouder of how far those boys have come
This footage is gold ugh they are so incredible and haven't changed I love them so much I can't wait for them to come back
this is like seeing the mona lisa being painted 😭
Thanks for uploading these. You don't know how amazing it is to see my favourite band's early performace that too in such a raw and uncontrolled setting. It's unlike any other live show. :')
HEY CHRIS... THNKS FR UPLOADING THIS MASTERPIECE!!!!!
I really love the fact that Chris only decided to share a couple of clips from this show and cherishing the rest as memories. The guys in the crowd were like *"uh...is that melody? I don't know...hmm"*

Hey Chris, you were our only friend
The mono audio. Oh God.
Barvoucher Bizzle Isn't it beautiful?
no, it's an awful and cruel joke
Anything that peaks levels would, naturally, sound better in Mono than gouging your ears out in stereo. It's like you're saying you're mad at the past for not being as technologically advanced as we are presently?
I mean, that's your prerogative, dude. I, however, am digging the clear nostalgia of it.
I just want my other ear to enjoy the music as much as the other. Also, you're dumb.
I consider this proof that they got every bit of success they deserved. They may have been playing to a crowd out of their genre and few people may have known them but they made the absolute best out of it.
obligatory "my left ear enjoyed this video" comment.
This is literal history
this is awesome af they are so cool I'd die to be there. Patrick's so cute
If there is a heaven, you are definitely going there for posting this.
So funny seeing this early clip compared to the modern hardcore scene. I've seen bands play Dead on Arrival and have the whole room moving.
Watching this is making me realize how much a want to play a pop punk show at a skatepark
Dead on Arrival
Reinventing the Wheel To Run Myself Over
literally my 2 fav songs off TTTYG. Thanks for releasing this
Oh my god, what I would give to go back in time and see this show.
I love how they're just so natural on stage. Born to be there
WOAAAH THEY WERE PRACTICALLY FETUS AWESOME! thanks for sharing this!
I would possibly give a vital organ to see Fall Out Boy play like this again. Thanks for the upload, Chris.
The Best Band in this life 👏
Fall out Boy Thanks for existing 💓
this is the best thing this year thank you!
Thank you
Thank you for sharing this with us.
These are completely amazing to watch.
I was half expecting them to go into "Saturday" because that's the song they always play last at their shows :p God I miss them so much.
Mannn, ,thanks for sharing this with the world. Its greatly appreicated.
Chris, Thank you so much for sharing at least the two songs!!! I would probably have done the same (maybe). I miss this band so damn much.
Praying for the day you release the whole show
My coworker was at that show, this was 14 months before I was born, be he said that growing up in oak park and Chicago in general, he saw this stuff all the time
I'm crying i love them,, my favs
DEAD ON ARRIVAL! What a classic. They're such a good pop punk writers in the early days.
i fucking love them and it aches my heart to see this.
This is glorious. Thanks for sharing.
This is just amazing. Great moments.
my left ear really enjoyed this
God what a feeling it must have been to be there, i was gonna turn 7 thirteen day’s after this & didn’t find fallout boy until 2005 when i was 9
the songs you grow to like never stick at first
Damn, this was a long time ago. Arma Angelus, This Promise, Bleeding Through and Misery Signals.
Are you THE Chris from "Grenade Jumper"?
+Ixchel ruiz garcia OMFG HE IS.
+jayben317 OMFG IS THAT TRUE
+Eduardo Ramirez ya he is
he is. I've been a fan for over a decade and I remember that name from reading online back in like, 2008. lol
Tom Payne really?????
I really hate how the top two comments are people ripping on Chris. Shut the fuck up guys. It's his footage and they're his friends; he can do what he wants with it.
Holy crap I was fricken two years old when this happened! I'm so late to the party!!!!
the way theyre all standing and nodding their heads pls 😭😭
dude, that's pretty true. like it or not (some ppl don't) FOB are a part of music history. they were arguably the biggest band in the world at one point (circa '07-08) this footage is historic.
plus its just plain awesome
This is making me miss the days I was obsessed with Fall Out Boy. Enter Fall Out Boy nostalgia on my iTunes now...
I'm not even a big fan of Fallout Boy but I genuinely respect them a lot for going out in front of this crowd and playing regardless.
love this so much
thanks for the upload man! loved watching it!
Still can't understand what the fuck Pete is saying.
Alex Lundrigan
At the end he says that other bands are gonna play and there's merch for sale somewhere and then he jokes around saying that bands that are actually good are gonna play nkw
Oh my goodness gracious. This was really cool. Thanks for sharing Chris.
auh-mazing! I grew up and worked only 10min from where this show took place! A shame I couldn't of been there!
I miss punk rock FOB, I remember my dad's friend giving me the first pressing of take this to your grave when I was 8. shit was so tight. music they make today just isn't the same at all.
+TrevorW456 totally right
If I could time travel this is where I would go. Damn.
THEYRE ALL CHILDREN
Patrick is a baby))) I love this video... but seriously, im glad their music evolved so much and they became what they are now.
IM GONNA START CRYING
Aww why
Dead on Arrival. 🖤🤘
thanks for the video!
the crossed arm head bangers of doooooom!
Don't know if I've ever seen a video of Reinventing the Wheel live. Great stuff
0:15 Dead On Arrival
3:48 Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over
I was there. We’re sitting on top of the ramp.
can you give details on where this place is at.
@@scoutlikestopoop7887 indoor skate park in La Grange IL
Hey Chris!! :D Thanx for sharing
This is gold.

Joe is a really fucking talented guitarist. I think it’s just easier for Patrick since he wrote it
Every Time I Die and Fall Out Boy played this show together YEARS before the Damned Things started. That's unreal...
