A highlight of my trip was visiting the iconic Portara. This massive marble gateway stands as the remnants of what was to be the Temple of Apollo, the god of music, harmony, and light. Situated on a small islet connected to Naxos, the views from the Portara at sunset are simply magical.

The woman on the temple was talking about Kalampaka where the Meteora are. It's a fantastic surreal place in north-central Greece with huge rocks and monasteries built on top of them.

Maro’s restaurant was an excellent choice! Make sure you go see and eat at the village of Apiranthos, also visit the Hawaii beach (it’s a beautiful off the grid beach) and also make sure you go see the huge ancient statue Kouros of Apollonas in the northern part of Naxos!

You've just visited the most beautiful island in the world! Kazantzakis said that if Heaven were on Earth, it would be here in Naxos.
Also, there is a taverna on the beach near Plaka, called Petrino. Yum!
Go for a swim at Plaka beach or Agios Prokopios. Love Naxos!!!

Naxos is by far my favorite island. Went every summer for 20 years when I lived in Greece. Naxos will be my retirement place, just hope they don’t commercialize it like Mykonos and Santorini. Naxos is on another level.

this is the island I've been going to since 1990. I love that place. The best spot to eat, and it's not Greek, is Picasso Plaka. Or Lucullus. Or ilGirasole.

u need 100 years to discover everything in greece...few greeks did that so far.+1 sub of me bcause u love my country more than we do..and the people i hope.
and i forgot to say..if u continue the tour in greece...u will discover that the most areas have diferent couzin and recipes and ways of cooking than athens..personal opinion.,...country sides have more tasty food more traditional...more fresh..

There's no such thing as "like other Greek islands". Every region in Greece is different, whether island or on the peninsula. That's like being surprised Nantucket is different from Key West. Naxos is in the Cyclades, and looks exactly like most of the other southern Cyclades.
