  • Marked at birth with a symbol of power, an untested princess does not see how she can fulfill the heroic destiny prophesied for her-until she's thrust into the heart of a fierce rebellion. Rae Carson's debut is a remarkable novel full of adventure, sorcery, heartbreak, and power.

I would love to see this as a show, and the only reason why I say show is because it has so much detail that a movie would cover everything that happened.

Does no one realize that Elisa is suppose to overweight. Like she's describes her as having huge breast and soft tummy and round features. Is no one talking about this. I think this is important.

I absolutely *loved* this book! It was such a new and interesting take on historical fantasy. One of my favourites of the year. I cannot wait for the Bitter Kingdom.

I was fortunate enough to read an ARC of this book, and don't let the religious element turn you away! The religion is an essential part of the story and it's a wonderful, formidable read. If you don't believe me... try it! :)

I loved this book! I enjoyed watching how her character developed over the time of the book. I admire Elisa a lot and I wish to be like her a lot when it comes to hard times. It's inspired me to drivel back into my own writing.
