That was a good story! My grandparents told me tales about people with " gifts from God"..the Sight, ability to dowse for water and things like that....this story reminded me of the stories they told.

Very cool story Lora! Much thanks to Hugh Simmons for having you tell it! I think Burly's parents were just that and I don't think he was touched by anything foul either. The fact that he always used his gift for good when he could've just as easily gone the other way with it tells me who he was: a man touched by God. In the ancient days, they would've called him a prophet or soothsayer. How silly we've become in our fears of the unseen and unknown! His eye problem is well known today and caused by a bacteria. A scratch from anything with the bacteria could have caused it. (And it's still not curable if not caught quickly!) No witch here, just a good man with a big heart to match his size!
