Despite being hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic’s ferocious 2nd wave, Mumbai has dealt with it systematically. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation & its commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal have been at the forefront of the battle establishing smooth carriage of patients, vaccinations, etc. When asked if a national template to deal with the 2nd wave could be established, the BMC Commissioner replied that while he was happy to share his city’s model, his colleagues in the Govt of India never thought the 2nd wave would go beyond Maharashtra. In fact when he warned them in March 2021 that it would spread to all of India they laughed at him.

This is true Maharashtra was first to take toll of Second wave.. Since Feb end.
But Maharashtra government was made target by Centre..saying they are inefficient...When Maharashtra called oxygen shortage in early march we were called shameless by railway minister Goel and trolled by Harshawardhan..

The cases were only coming up in Kerala and Maharashtra because these were the only states testing and reporting honestly. Right from the number of positive cases to the number of dead people, these two govts have been honest with their people, that is why Kerala and Maharashtra have fared much better than other states.

Well said sir. .....Appreciate all the hard work done by states of Maharashtra and Kerala. None of these Nethas are going to accountable for this mess they have created.. I lost several of my friends and near and dears.. We as a country have failed and going into lockdowns again...... Water logging is bound to happen, city cant escape waterlogging due to its geographical location.. And also cant escape potholes due to busy routes.. City needs absolute lockdown in order to clear all that u suggest...
