Watching that timeline of your setups through time I realized I’ve been watching your channel since 2016. 8 years and going. Ahh those red and black acoustical wall panels. Those were the days 😅😅
Damn Ed, I felt the pain about monitors. Just finished building my dream setup as well and had problems with display headers as well. All the research I did said the 4090 can run up to 4 monitors so I got 4 monitors. One was the Alienware 4k OLED 240hz (come to find out takes up 2 headers). All 4 monitors hooked up, only 3 are showing with one being recognized but no display. Had to do similar solution as you, hooking one of the verticals into the CPU (14900k) and the other 3 into the GPU. Seeing as how that one won't really be used for gaming it was a fair compromise. Set my setup back almost a week by having to reroute cables, order a long enough HDMI (planned to connect with DP before), etc. Much love to how much time and effort you put into your builds and setups and you were a big inspiration to me when I built my setup as well! Congrats on finally finishing it up, looks awesome!!
You and me both Ed.Just finished my new setup and the PC is from your 800 dollar build with the 3070 and 7600. Thanks for all the inspiration and I will be submitting to setup wars
Hell yeah dude!! Great way to start my morning! I totally agree with the statement of “people won’t go through the hassle and this is why my setup stands out from others.” I feel you 100%
17:12 I haven’t finished the rest of the video yet. But instead of moving the monitor mounts all the way on the inside of the frame, you could have used the frame slot itself. It would have allowed you to move the mounts in that inch or so. Just drill the holes to line up with the slot in the frame, inline with the other mounting bolts. It would have allowed the mounts to use the frame slot for extra support and also provided another 2 bolts on each side for the headboard. Just needed a little longer bolts. Would have solved the whole issue and keep almost the same exact spacing.
The monitor problem is 100% because of the bandwidth that is required to run a high resolution high refresh rate monitor, hdmi 2.1 and dp 2.0 still can't handle it, but hdmi 2.1 still have a bit more bandwidth than dp 2.0 but no gpu current have enough ports for that lol. Maybe lowering the refresh rate or resolution would resolve the problem without switching monitors.
This has been one of my favorite series to watch ever and you Ed reach the possible, if that makes any sense, but you know what i mean. I imagine this has been hell of a journey to you and all of us to see what you have accomplished and you made it and we were there for you to support you and we still be and i wanna say grongrats Ed and i hope that this new will make you smile and feel happy and that is all i have to say. Merry christmas Ed and happy new year.
This is the video I have been waiting for. It's nice to see content creators make mistakes because it's a reminder that nobody is perfect. It's a learning process!
When you select " Screen 3 as small look at the bottom it says disconnect this play" you need to change to extend to fix it. That will allow you to use all 3 screen. Time at 24:13 in your video select that screen 3 then where it says identity next to it says disconnect change that to extend it should work 100%.
Man, you're really an inspiration for PC/setup builders out there. The effort and passion you're putting into this stuff are amazing, and they never fail to inspire me personally to upgrade my own setup and make it cooler. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion with us; it's deeply appreciated. Much love!
I think you could have either lower the resolution and refresh rate on ultrawide (if you don't plan to game alot on it). This way your main monitor will consume more bandwidth and ultrawide consume less bandwidth. Also , you could try to replace side monitor with decent lcd monitors , oled consumes a lot of bandwidth and surprisingly no one one ever mentions it. Edit: Glad you were able to solve the issue. Congratulations on your setup. Can't wait for the full tour and future changes.
16:00 you could’ve just cut a notch in the metal where the vertical mounts were hitting the frame so you could keep your spacing an it won’t weaken the metal frame
So the issue for the monitors is that you've exceeded the port's bandwith. You'll have to check the GPU's actual specs to determine that maximum bandwith for each port. What you've done and what most people don't realize is that 1440p and 4k monitors suck up A LOT of that bandwith, sometimes far exceeding 1 and even 2 ports. You might have to step down to 1080p or even lower refresh rate for the monitor.
This is part of the reason your channel exists edgar. While I'm familiar with the display header problem for a few years now, it is good to be reminded every so often. The good news is, this isn't a new problem, it usually results in standards changes that eventually will result in a 4k 240hz ultra wide standard for a single header. We're just not there yet. Hopefully before this becomes mainstream. I think Linus Tech Tips has run into this a few times with some of their more ambitiously stupid setups.
Hooyyyaaa, you should make a cyber theme setup so you can give me ideas even though I don't have my own setup yet I have never seen a cyber theme setup iv tried looking on the internet but can't find any... My dream gaming set up is a cyber themed!!
awesome built! Love the ceiling! The floating effect is insane, though to me.. I would have upgraded to tower speakers on the side of your desk with a sub. Just for the flexing. It still feels "empty" on the both sides of the desk.. Maybe for the next upgrade involve the whole wall with your setup/desk? 😇Still a piece of dedication, inspiration and craftmanship. Keep it up Ed!
Hey! Love the setup. 1 thing that i did notice and i would like to point out is that i would flip the side monitors so that the bigger bezel is facing the outside instead of facing the main monitor. Otherwise, Looks great!
I think your biggest problem was fiddling with the monitors on the backboard before actually making the holes to put the backboard on the frame. AI setup creators and perfect monitor positions are definitely cool, but they shouldn't be made a priority when the desk you're putting your setup on isn't even fully complete yet. The second issue is kind of a nitpick, but it has to do with your PC placement. Wall mounted PC's are gorgeous, but only if you actually make them look like they're mounted on the wall. With yours being so close to the backboard, it looks like it's resting on top of it. I don't think going with a shorter backboard would've been a good option, so maybe on your next build you can mount your PC even higher. Just personal preference though. Stunning setup, well worth the effort.
As an avid Linux user that had an NVidia GPU for a long while, I knew about it, honestly I thought it was common knowledge to everyone on the PC Building community. Yes its an edge case but it does happen once in a while, specially more once you have reach the higher end PC Building.
Very cold setup. A cozy one with fake plans and with wood panels looks way better. The problem you had with the HDMI headers could maybe fixed if you turn down the 240hz uw monitor to 100/120hz.
love the videos glad everything came together nicely watching you helped me learn more abt setups and helped influence me to upgrade my setup now its js time to save
Would you give yourself a Seal of Approval for your current setup (like imagine seeing it as one of the submissions)? And when you go back tru all your setups in the past, how would you rate them now?
Nothing short of inspiring to see all the effort you put into your dream setup. You always push through despite the challenges and it's really awesome to see it all come together 🎉🎉🎉
My man, you could have simply screw the monitor stand from the back of the board. You could also make the screws flush with the board and you wouldn't have any clearence issues :) Good job on the setup, looks sick
@ if you countersink the screws on the back of the panel and screw them from the front, you wouldn’t have any issues with it hitting the screw mounting holes of the board. Idk if I’m making sense, English is not my main language, sorry
I don't understand why you didn't just make the key light mount a wireless charger... Then it would be charging whenever you use it and you can take it down whenever. You would have to run a cable on the mount but it would be completely hidden when the light is on the mount and the mount could be folded away when not in use.
Can I get a hooooooooooooooooooyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 🗣

29:26 what about lowering screen resolution? I wonder if that affects the amount “gpu headers” used.

That's insane. Insanely GOOD!

I Love your videos man keep them coming
Finallyyyy!!!!!!!
Ed is the GOAT . God bless you brother ! Never fail to execute such amazing work 👌🏽love these set ups very motivating for us gamers
remeber when he said we wouldn’t be waiting a long time for this? lol

15:30 just do the same as you would mounting it. Make a indent and use a bolt and nut and tighten it. It's not rocket science
You got to turn the vertical. Onitors bezels outwards.
Yes dude finally complete, looks 11/10 bro. Watching from UK. Where are the sound boards from in the end ?
Beautiful Job, You Know You Could Use Dow Pins For The Mis=Drilled Holes Rather Than Stickers Then Paint The Dow Ends After They're Inserted
I think its better to put aux extension that goes from your mixer to your headphone from underneath the table. (it will not affect the quality)
The goat does it again 🙌

ok guys, it's time to play minecraft hehehe, great seies Ed, I really like it!
