It’s lovely. Maybe consider continuing the brick on the upper wall above your stove and put in some type of open shelving, rustic farmhouse art or unique mirror!
Miss Moogle did you use clear silicone around the window trim? Ordered and received my 3D wallpaper tile effect, just wondered what I need to put to seal it around the window ledge edge, my sink is there too.. thanks. You did a fab job
Yes, I used a white one. A few people have said this and I didn't even know a grey on existed! When this one wears away or needs replacing I will definitely go for grey! Thank you so much for watching!

Thanks for stopping by. There's a shorter one that's a little more instructional if you're looking for that. This was my vlog version :D A couple of people mentioned that, think I'll use clear or grey (which I didn't know existed) next time.
I have never touched outlets before so didn't realise you could take them off without fiddling with the electrics? I found it ok just loosening them anyway! But next time! ☺️
I'm about to purchase my first house and needed quick and affordable make over ideas for my kitchen. I'm so glad I came across your video. I have more confidence in moving forward with the wall paper counter tops. Thank you for sharing :)
I always felt weird about vinyl because I saw some really terribly done ones in rented places but this actually looks good. You put in a bit of extra effort and it's worth it.
Thank you so much! Yeah I think it can go wrong if you're not careful. Thank it depends what you use it one. I think worktops are quite easy to do and don't look cheap xx
Hi your video is great and it has inspired me to do a makeover on my tiny kitchen in the meantime until I can afford to do it properly! I can’t believe the people commenting on the silicone sealant as you clearly acknowledge in the video that it does stand out and that you plan to replace it with a grey one! And whether you like the colours or not that is down to personal taste I personally think you’ve done a great job and it looks much better! Your instructions are very clear and it makes it look so easy. Just one thing, I have a windowsill like yours that needs to be covered in the tile effect vinyl, what have you used as a trim on the edge because proper tile trims are too high and will stick out?
What a lovely comment! Thank you so much for taking time to watch my video and write this! Very kind! I'm so happy that it's helped you! Ohh, I didn't replace anything for the edges I just kept what was already there from the real tiles underneath and the real tile trim 😊
@@MissMoogle You are very welcome! :) Oh I see, you already had a trim there I had not noticed it with the original white tiles lol. Mine does not have trim strip. Will have to think of something haha. Thanks!
Oh gosh.. I just got my first property (a beautiful 1 bed bungalow, I’m disabled so I had to wait for one on the social housing list as I need some adaptions, but I viewed it yesterday & you know when you walk into a place & you feel like you belong?! Big garden, secluded, full of squirrels & nature! My heart! No idea why I’m telling you but I’m so excited!) Anyway. It DOES need a lot of work regarding painting etc. The kitchen is nothing short of hideous 🤣 If you think your lovely original grey countertops are bad.. oh my! Mine are currently black with dark brown cupboard doors & cream tiles, with yellow walls.. LOL! My first thought was vinyl coverings, as it’s relatively cheap but really effective.. you’ve made this look too easy lol! I’m sorry for the bombardment of questions, but where did you get tile paint from, & do you just paint them? Or do I need to scrape away sealant & re-seal? I think I’d like to paint mine, as I have a pastel theme (& the neutral colours will likely be a white-grey colour, a little lighter than your walls but very similar!) in my kitchen, so I’d like quite plain colours. When it comes to putting vinyl down on the surfaces, any tips or tricks for a first timer who’s never done this before? Also, was that a pin you used to pop air bubbles? I’m afraid of air bubbles haha! Do I need to seal all the way around the sink or should it stay stuck down OK? I’m going to go check out your cupboard ones now! Sorry again for all the questions! Thanks so much for a really lovely, informative video. It looks so lovely! I hope you were pleased with yourself, you really did so well 🥰 xx
Ah super congratulations on your new place! Sounds lovely! Yeah it shouldn't be too costly to paint a little and do a few updates to make it your own! I have a video where I painted my tiles in my decorating playlist! Take a look for a bit of help. You probably should prepare the surface and put some underlay paint on but I didn't and it turned out just fine! Regarding using dcfix... it's super easy with a bit of practice! Just use a pin/ needle and prick the centre of a bubble and push the air out. Although when you're putting it down it's easy to get rid of them as you go anyway. Let me know how you get on! Thank you so much for watching! 😊
I’ve used loads of different cleaning products on mine no problem at all. I don’t use just pure bleach so I can’t confirm that’s ok but the usual kind of kitchen sprays etc all work fine :D
Had no issues at all. If you do watch a more recent video though I have actually changed it again! This was lasting just fine but I wanted a change so I tried stick on tiles!
Props to you re sticky back vinyl. I've learnt how to apply it more easily watching you. The one time I tried it bubbled, creased & I ended up a frustrated, sweaty wreck! Don't the joins round the sink look obvious tho? (can't see well here what they looked like). I've found a 3D tile wallpaper from Wallpaper It which looks exactly like white ceramic tiles so will have another try.
Honestly, give it a go! It's not too hard! It doesn't look obvious around the sink at all. Sealed it all and even the overlaps when putting the wood effect down aren't at all noticeable ☺️
I’ve used the wallpaper in my bathroom over tiles, it looks fab, just a little bit of advice, you don’t get much time to work with the adhesive, apply a section at a time, stick the paper down, making sure you remove any bubbles, I can see bubbles on yours which won’t come out now and use clear silicone sealer for edges
Hi Unfortunately links are broken.Internet says you cannot wallpaper over tiles unless you sand them. How did you do? Apply ceramic glue directlyon the tile and stick vnyl wallpaper? Thanks
I loved this so much, I ordered the same for my kitchen & instead of the wood effect S.B.P for my surfaces, I bought the grey n white marble effect. Can't wait to get started!
Nice but I would have used a grey sealant that matches the paper and used some tape when sealing to get a nice clean straight line. Also would have gone for a different paper for the worktop that complimented the paper on the tiles.
Completely agree! I have changed it now! I’ve put a grey silicone tape over it and it looks so much neater. Also, I really love the combination of both styles. Each to their own. Thank you so much for watching!
I'm obsessed with this stuff and omlife I did not know you can buy it looking like tiles wthell and I cant just go looking around lol cuz wer on lockdown
I have never seen a kitchen with so little cabinets and tiny appliances. Once you pulled off the old stuff on your counter tops it actually looked better with the back splash wall paper you put up. The new stuff you put on the counter tops didn't match well with the back splash and the wood grain look was just to much. But if you like it that's all that matters. Good job, thanks for sharing. Are you in England? The BBC shows I have seen on the telly the kitchens are always so small. Here in the states most kitchens have lots of cabinets, big appliances and the room is normally bigger.
Hey! Yeah I absolutely love it. Think it stands out more in the video and on the thumbnail but it's a bit more subtle in real life. Super happy, just need to change my flooring now! Yes! You can obviously get bigger, more expensive kitchens but I just have a little one :( I need to buy a new cooker soon which will fill the space better and be slightly bigger. I live in Wales, UK. I actually love watching American housing shows because the houses are so much more interesting over there! Thank you for watching! ☺️
Hi again. My husband's Meyrick/Myrick ancestral home is the Isle of Anglesey. I have a descendant chart dating back to 800. Our line arrived in America in 1635 on the ship named The James. Nice of you to reply back. Have a great day.
Can you come and do mine for me, I lost confidence in doing mine. I threw a away. 2m sheet because I decided to do It at night and it was hot. And it kept sticking away., and air bubbling 😭
White sealant was put on too liberally - way too wide and uneven. Of course, it's all in the eyes of the beholder, but your kitchen seems way too cold to me. Hopefully you will add touches of color.,
Yeah I'm not very good at doing it! Haha! Lots of stuff on my worktop so can't really see it much anyway and it does the job so that's the important bit. I feel like the wooden worktop warmed my kitchen up from what it was before so, yeah, really happy with it. Love a neutral colour palette ☺️
When I do caulking I wet a sponge it makes a nice and even all the way down through there and I rinse my Sponge Out one of the comments you should have used gray because the white does standout that's beautiful backsplash and counter
Looks like Contour Tiling on a Roll - very popular back in the 90s ..... had it in the kitchen of the house I bought, was up for about ten years by the time I could afford to tile properly, just on plaster. Stood up to all the steam and splashes. I did manage to melt a bit of it though by touching it with a hot baking sheet (it was just the bit that had touched that had a melted scar on it though, so hardly noticeable) ...... other than that
The best option should have been to completely remove the outlet covers… 🤷🏻♀️ and maybe a neutral color for the counters top… it looks very busy with all this mixed patterns. However you are the one who has to love it…… 💙💙💙
Fair point. I just really wanted to break up the grey as my floor is grey too. I just love the warmer colour of this worktop and I love the wood effect! Yeah I'm super happy with it :D thank you so much for watching!!
Oh and I found it ok just loosening the sockets to be honest and I wasn't sure how easy it might be to put them back on if I took them completely off - electrics make me nervous! Haha!
cassia Roquett I agree. Other than butcher block, I’ve never seen a wood countertop so I just found it an odd choice. Looks more like something that would be for a floor or a piece of furniture. It was executed nicely though.
I've changed it twice since then 😂 have a look at my later videos. I used sticky back tiles after this and then I've actually put real ones up! This stuff was actually lasting ok though, I was just trying new stuff and trying to make it look better 😁
Hi, just found you . You are soooooo! Like my daughter I love watching you 😅 You are are so happy and enthusiastic xxx Excellent job too on your kitchen makeovers . Thank you take care 😘
Aw that's so lovely! Thanks for watching and commenting! Lovely to hear positive feedback and always lovely knowing someone somewhere is enjoying them:)
I looked at those, they never have the exact size of my existing tiles tho, so it'd prob look kinda odd & you'd see old tile lines underneath or thru? . So disappointing, as there are some really lovely designs!
I didn't even realise they did a grey one at the time but I've since put a grey silicone self adhesive strip over it and it looks much better and neater now ☺️
Well darn it, it keeps saying product not found. I'm so wanting to shop this company for my kitchen make over. That's all I have left to do. This looks so amazing in your space and looks so much easier than most products I've been looking at. Can you please help me find the company site?
Ohh, absolutely, have you searched for Create Your World - Tile Wallpaper. It should come up through Google! Let me know if you can find it?! So glad you like the look of it!!
Have you managed to find it? I've changed the link in the description for it now. They must have changed it on their site and that link wasn't working anymore.
Going to do our kitchen again in d c fix taking off black marble effect and using wood grain like yours and going to use clear sealent not white as it does not work visually but well done !!
Hmm the link doesn’t work anymore. Can you please tell me if you used the dc fix Sanremo Oak or Sanremo Oak Sand? the regular sanremo oak is darker than sanremo oak sand. In your video it looks lighter, like it could be the sand one. I am so confused cause I don’t know which one to order! Help🤔
The white caulk in my opinion was a wrong color choice. Caulk the color of that fake grout would have been ideal. Sorry. 😏 I have to be honest. Attention to Details makes it professional otherwise it can get tacky in a hurry. Maybe you could carefully tape off both sides of that caulk and paint it a darker color. Oh well, keep up the good work. I do like the other updated choices you have incorporated.
Thank you so much for watching! Someone else mentioned this and I didn't realise you could get any other colour than white or transparent! Next time I shall definitely search for a similar colour.
Unfortunately it shows up a very messy line. Caulk is very hard to do if you are using contrasting colours. I would consider some beading to hide this because it makes it look amateurish I’m afraid. Still you had a go and if you’re happy that’s all that matters.
@@julieuk2344 Yeah it's not really that obvious in real life and can change it if I like sometime ☺️ Also, with things on the counter top barely any of it is actually visible anyway. Thanks for watching!
You make it look so easy.contour on kitchen walls want to cover with out removing, vinyl rectangle adhesive floor tiles could I put these on walls as B and Ms have nice wood effect, walls are uneven.im blown away by your kitchen make over, the fablon on work tops, could you give advice please.and special blade you use.floor is laminate and freezing cold so big rug on top.even the fablon mite be good on walls.its tiny kitchen largest wall height usual council house and 9ft floor so not big wall.help I can give you email if you answer and send you pics and ask help me out.i dont like alot of papers in shops.seem to be back to thin paper I dont want contour tiling on roll.thanks if you can please answer.xxx🌹👍💙
The tile wallpaper was ok but you had to scrub away the glue afterwards to remove it properly. The d c fix is super easy. Just grab a hair dryer to soften it and it comes off easier 😁
It’s lovely. Maybe consider continuing the brick on the upper wall above your stove and put in some type of open shelving, rustic farmhouse art or unique mirror!
Oh that sounds really nice actually! We put a shelf up their once but I'm useless at hanging things and it fell down! Haha! Thanks for watching!

cassia Roquett I agree. Other than butcher block, I’ve never seen a wood countertop so I just found it an odd choice. Looks more like something that would be for a floor or a piece of furniture. It was executed nicely though.
5 yrs on how is it holding up? Or have you changed it??
I've changed it twice since then 😂 have a look at my later videos. I used sticky back tiles after this and then I've actually put real ones up! This stuff was actually lasting ok though, I was just trying new stuff and trying to make it look better 😁
Hi, just found you . You are soooooo! Like my daughter I love watching you 😅
You are are so happy and enthusiastic xxx Excellent job too on your kitchen makeovers . Thank you take care 😘
Aw that's so lovely! Thanks for watching and commenting! Lovely to hear positive feedback and always lovely knowing someone somewhere is enjoying them:)
What a brilliant idea thank you for sharing
Aw lovely! My pleasure!! Thanks for watching!
I would of done a solid color on counter tops. Backsplash does not go with the counter tops. 😒
I've changed it all since this video hehe 😁 I liked it at the time though 😊
Well done you did a great job! Your kitchen looks fabulous! ❤️
Thank you so much!! I love it too! ☺️
New subscriber looks great girl well done xx
Sorry this is not beautyfull
Good job. How about a couple of open shelves above stove?
Take the covers off your receptacles and it would be alot easier.... lol
Was worried they wouldn't go back on haha!
wow , good job you , i need to do this in my kitchen , thanks for the tips and sharing ....looks Amazing x
Thanks so much! 😊
Why not buy peel and stick wall tile their all ready pre-cut for you. And the peel stick comes in different styles.
I looked at those, they never have the exact size of my existing tiles tho, so it'd prob look kinda odd & you'd see old tile lines underneath or thru? . So disappointing, as there are some really lovely designs!
I've seen those, I was considering but really just liked the look of this option! ☺️
@@sarahholland1375 That's what I was worried with about those! There really are some lovely designs!
Caulking white is horrible. Why not grey?
I didn't even realise they did a grey one at the time but I've since put a grey silicone self adhesive strip over it and it looks much better and neater now ☺️
Looks so easy you are amazing thank you 😊
I would of left the worktops gray bit wot you did over your tiles looks good
Thank you! I'm super happy with it all! Thank you for watching! 😊
Get to the point sorry lady but talk to much. Really unnecessary
But it’s my vlog :)
How many rolls did you need roughly for this size kitchen ?
I think it was just the one but if you message the company they can help you out with the right size for your measurements
Well done, u did great... I have learned a lot. Am gonna do mine soon.
THANKS!
Ohh yay! Good luck!
Wonderful. Thanks
Love It!!!!!💯
Wow you are so clever your kitchen looks beautiful I'd love to have a go at this x
Thank you so much! Glad you like it! 😊
You make it look so easy
Awesome makeover! New subbie here. Christina
Aw lovely!! Thank you!! ☺️
Going to do our kitchen again in d c fix taking off black marble effect and using wood grain like yours and going to use clear sealent not white as it does not work visually but well done !!
Nice! Hope it goes well. Thank you! Yeah, white didn't work but I've put a grey strip seal over it now and it looks much better 😊
@@MissMoogle just finished 7 hours!!
Ahh! Huge well done!
Great job but you should of used brown sealer? Looks ok though 👌
I ended up using grey strip seal and it looks so much better!
Cool 😎
Nice work
Your corner is bubbly
Hmm the link doesn’t work anymore. Can you please tell me if you used the dc fix Sanremo Oak or Sanremo Oak Sand? the regular sanremo oak is darker than sanremo oak sand. In your video it looks lighter, like it could be the sand one. I am so confused cause I don’t know which one to order! Help🤔
Ohh just had a look now... It's definitely the Sanremo Oak one... NOT THE SAND ☺️
Good luck with your dcfix mission!! xxx
Miss Moogle great, thanks so much! Ordering right now! You are a sweetheart😊
@@gocrazy95 Aw amazing! Good luck! Let me know how you get on!
Your kitchen looks fab! 💜
Thank you so much 😁 I've actually changed it since this video 😛
Very nice job
Is it safe way???
You did a very good job Applying The Contact Paper👍. But it doesn't Match🤔
Thanks for watching! Each to their own, but I absolutely love it! 😊

Is one tub of glue enough?
Yeah I only used the one but I did spread it quite thin too!
Looks great.
Awesome love it🌻
💗💗💗💗💗 yesssss I love it💯💯💯💯
Thank you!!! ☺️
Wow 👏🏼 you go girl
Haha! Thank you!!
take it you werent happy with the white tiles after all
Nope, I get bored and love to try new DIY things!
@@MissMoogle oh am the same lol
Are theses east to remove ?
The tile wallpaper was ok but you had to scrub away the glue afterwards to remove it properly. The d c fix is super easy. Just grab a hair dryer to soften it and it comes off easier 😁
How many did you use ?
Hey! I can't remember but if you measure up and conyact the company they can help figure out how much you need :)
