    After listening to hundreds of hours of podcast, reading articles, reading papers, NO ONE has described running paces and sessions as easy and understandable as Jack does in these videos.
    We need to store these videos in a vault for all human and alien generations to come.

    Quick question. In the book are also mentioned fast reps (FR). Do they have the same purpose as economy reps (R)?

    • @VDOTO2
      @VDOTO2  2 года назад +2

      Same benefits but particularly for 800 races to improve economy at 800m race pace and good anaerobic fitness.

    Seems like some of the VDOT paces should be based on times, not distance. Like current mile race pace might be 6:00 for someone but 4:20 for another. It would be way easier for me to do a 200m repetition at my 6:00 PR distance than my 4:20 PR distance.

    Hello to everyone. English is not my native language.
    When he says that with this training one improves - economy - what exactly does he means by that?
    Economy of what?

    Ive heard that interval training should not pass beyond the hour mark, so you guys make different repetition in this amount of time counting warm up and cool down?

    • @VDOTO2
      @VDOTO2  4 года назад +3

      Jack's rule is based more on the total volume of work or time spent running at Rep pace. He likes to institute a cap of 5% of your total weekly mileage.

      @@VDOTO2 have you tried these plans with cyclist? or its a whole different art of training?

      @@bewimotos my opinion that is similar, physiology is same, but you need to work with HR monitor, and you will have lower work zones instead of running, beacuse you use only your legs for work.
      It's not same but it could be possible, and the big thing is to find that zones/paces or speed for individual person.

    So when he says mile race pace, does he 1 mile race pace or per mile pace?

      Current mile race pace.

      exactly what he says....your current mile race pace, not your 3 mile race pace or 2 mile race pace.

      Hi, something standard would be 8, 10, 12, etc x 200m at R pace (200m jog), number of Reps depending on how much you run per week.

      @@VDOTO2 In Monday we run 200m or 400m 10 or 12 rep repetition-rest 3 or 5mins, Thursday 1000m or 600m 6 or 8 rep -rest 7 or 10min.is this. Correct form?

    • @VDOTO2
      @VDOTO2  5 лет назад +7

      @@distancerunner7016 600m and 1000m at Rep pace? Generally, 600m max at R pace. Just make sure the recoveries are long enough that each run feels no more difficult than the previous run. You cannot get faster (nor more economical) if you are not running with relaxed form. Reducing rest time between Reps does not make for a better workout, in fact it probably makes for a worse workout because the short rests could increase the stress and lead to poor economy.

    So, economy is how long you need to rest? So this stresses your recovery frequently without even keeping it at your v.02 max so that you can get more reps in?

    • @AndroidOO3
      @AndroidOO3 2 года назад

      What is the progression through these for a true rock bottom beginner? Is it just down the line? Is rep training even that important for most people? What system is it actually stressing compared to the others?
