Bette’s name is pronounced like “Bet.” The last e is silent… 😅 which is ironic because her mom named her after Bette Davis, where you do pronounce the e at the end.. 🤷🏼♂️😊
I read an interview where she said her mom thought Bette Davis' name was French with a silent e at the end, hence the pronunciation of The Divine Miss M's name.
I've seen a fair number of renditions of "You don't own me", but I have a feeling this one will always be my favorite. Thank you for reacting to this film.
Thanks, Mozy! 🥂 I love this one. It was directed by Hugh Wilson. Another by him you'd probably enjoy is BLAST FROM THE PAST (1999). 🔸 As for the primary cast... you really need see *Goldie* *Hawn* in FOUL PLAY (1978), SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES (1980), PRIVATE BENJAMIN (1980) and OVERBOARD (1987). 🔸 As for *Bette* *Midler* - she's in two great dramas, so have your tissues ready for THE ROSE (1979) and BEACHES (1988). But she'll make you laugh again in BIG BUSINESS (1988). 🔸 Now, *Diane* *Keaton* ... she's been in tons worth watching for any budding cinephile, but if you had to pick only one, it would be ANNIE HALL (1977).
I love this movie. Not enough have reacted to it so you got my sub simply because you did lol. Can't wait when you hit big numbers and I can be like yeah, I was there at the start hehe. One that hasn't been done much but is fabulous and has Dianne Keaton is father of the bride one and two, the second one is actually as good if not better.
I've spent the morning watching SEVERAL of your reactions! I decided to Subscribe. The only thing negative anyone could ever say is that the reviews aren't long enough.😔😊
You need to watch Bette with Nicole Kidman inStepford Wives. Watching Goldie Hawn in this is pretty much a testament to how Hollywood has always screwed over women to the point they feel they can’t age or put on weight. Is fucked up beyond belief. But that aside. This movie is perfect. ESP if u watch with a group of friends. You can’t help but put yourself in roles of friend groups. Like I was the Goldie lol And hell after the hell I’ve been through with men I will defend women to the end when it comes to saying all men are evil. Well 99 percent lol
hehe sure thing, Stepford wives is on the list ;-) Loved Goldie here soo much. You're right it is a testament to how women are perceived, even up until this very day.
Given how much you loved this movie you should check out both Book Club Movies and 80 for Brady because with all three you get to see iconic actresses of the past just embracing who they are and having fun with fun plots and Diane Keaton is in the Book Club movies.
I have been watching your reactions only recently, and I have been enjoying them. As far as movies featuring Bette Midler, i can recommend two from the '80s: "Ruthless People" (1986) "Beaches" (1988) Keep up the good content!
@MOzyFlicks, since you like Bette (pronounced, "bet"), check out one of her classics, with an amazing soundtrack (which I own on CD), called, "Beaches." It's a dramedy, so bring a tissue.
12:41 Which should get her fired as well - since she's a) having an affair with a client (Annie said he was seeing her about his commitment issues) and b) having an affair with someone married to a client (since she's seeing Annie about her self-confidence).
"Why don't you try these on, in YOUR size(!)?" "Don't make me come over there, with this broom!" Try the movie 'Beaches' ;) I never will understand why most women do that to themselves. The duck lips. It looks awful.

Bette Midler has been my gay icon since I first watched Beaches when I was 8.
Rip Maggie Smith
R.I.P.
What a great actress she was.
That film meet so much as a woman but I think we should address men being abused also they need support too
Of course, def!
lol
