the end of this was scarier than when i fell off my bike riding up mount cloud alaska but it turns out it was just me dreaming of the woman from modern family and falling off one of these streetcars
Does the conversion of the catanery to be pantograph compatible mean removal of the mechanical wire switches? Does this mean no more trolley poles and the remaining PCCs will need a pantograph?
The wire frog, as they are know, is usually blind. The goal for overhead crews is to place the wire frog at a point where the car's location to one side or the other is enough to persuade the pole in that direction when it reaches the frog. It works every 9/10 times, but there's always that tenth time that the pole chooses the wrong wire and dewires.
Love the ending!
Love the ending. A little funny.
LOVE THE END FUNNY
I think the PCC car is heading west, not east. It crosses Leslie, and you can see the CN Tower up ahead on the left.
Justin Martell ?
You are correct
Never knew it sounded like a bunch of bouncing cans! (or it was the camera's mount being unstable?)
It´s the shoe on top of trolley pole (current collector) making its way through frogs, switches and all the overhead wire clamps.
that ending
Didn’t know how bumpy that ride was.

Now thats interesting!
hehe the ending so much for the camera

Switches on power line are not automatic? How the trolley pole "knows" which way to go at the switches / crossings?
On our UK ones, somebody gets out and pulls a rope on the pole to spring open the switch

Did somebody have to sleep with Doug ford to get permission to attach a cámera like that! Lol
How did u get the camera up there, what camera did u use?
I can tell it was a gopro or a clone. Clamped on, the second time, the clamp came loose and camera fell once it dewired.
A bit un-nerving watching this - I feel at risk of getting a 600 volt shock.
