For Line of Sight, (@37:00) Page 6 of the rules says you choose one corner of the attacking character and from that corner you need to "see" two corners of the defending character. Not from the center of the attacking character.
@@harsh-rules line of sight is really impossible to determine, since what happens in everything is in a single line - are that two lines that can be drawn, or not... there is an online tool as the source of truth. IMHO, rules as written are unplayably bad for that. And that comes from me as a 25 years of experience TTRPG veteran.
Finally brought this game out after several years in the closet waiting for the kids to reach game age. Thank you for the tutorial as it works perfectly together with reading the rules to grasp it better.
This was an amazing tutorial. Bless you for doing such a great job and being super clear with images and all. I'm extremely impressed with the detail. Thank you so much
Thank you for making this. Was really easy to understand with the nice and slow pace. Others seem like gerbils jacked up on energy drinks and talk so fast that its hard to understand.
Thank you deeply as I didnt even come close to understand the "red me first" book to learn to play. It was lacking the explanation while using the map. You did it excellently.
Another beyond impressive tutorial. How long does it take to make videos like this? There's a lot of work involved, I imagine. Some of these board gaming companies need to scoop you up and pay you to make videos like this for their games. Their worth to folks who learn visually is invaluable.
Each video can take a week or more to produce. The state of the rule book is a big decider. Also the game components must be scanned, diagrams designed and built, animations worked out, script writing and recording, etc. It IS fun though!
Fantastic video! The images, animation, and thorough explanations were all top notch! Although there were several "how to play" videos available when I searched, it was a no brainer to select Harsh Rules. :) Minor quibble. At 43:55 I'd like to point out that "die" is singular and "dice" is plural. So you have one green die or two green dice.
Dude you have made how to plays on like every game I buy! Or maybe our tastes line up, but here’s another series I can use to learn a game. Your videos are top notch thanks and happy holidays!
found 4 errors, can you confirm: 1) You said that you can use one or another surge of your weapon. I think you can use both if you have enogh surges (at the end you make it correct) 2) The first stormtrooper can move twice and reach the door 3) line of sight: Starting positions for the "lines" is on any figures field's edge, not from the figure's or field's center.... 4) i think the blast ability would also cause damage to fenn in your example, or not?
What a great tutorial thank you very much... Seems that this was a lot of work with all the screens with that detailed discribtion of everything. Greetings from Germany :)
Awesome tutorial! However one thing you could have added there was that during Dialas attack, he could have used the leftover surge to heal. Since She did not have any strain on hear, she can use the surge to recover 1 strain, which means she would recover 1 health.
Damn. I can't imagine the time it took to make this. Absolutely fantastic. After keeping my Imperial Assault on the shelf for months, I can finally put it to good use.
Thank you very much for making this great tutorial. I have been wanting to play this gave for year's and you made a tutorial so I feel like I can easily play this game now.
This is by far the best tutorial I've seen so far (even in general). Please do promote yourself on social media to get more views and recognition. You damn sure deserve it. Keep up the good work! :)
I have another question! What software do you use for these tutorials? Regarding animation and everything? Adobe Premiere, After Effects or something else?
I use Microsoft Powerpoint. It's not sexy, but it does most of what I want. (The lack of a flip animation for things like game cards is pretty aggravating though!) I've been looking in to try out Adobe Premiere. The problem I run into is that Adobe products always seems sluggish to me. They're powerful programs, but sometimes I need to move very quickly and Adobe programs can just drag. I can get a lot MORE work done on simpler programs so it's hard to justify switching to something more cumbersome and system intensive. That's just my opinion. Some people wouldn't work with anything else. Nothing wrong with that. I just don't use enough of the higher end adobe functions to justify the loss of productivity on the simple stuff. Most likely it's a "Me" problem rather than an Adobe issue.
Great comment! I understand your problem, but if you are capable of doing a presentation like that with only Powerpoint, then it is not a problem at all. I totally forgot about Powerpoint. Back when I was in high school we used to do these animated presentations all the time and it was simple too. It looked good and was not so time consuming. Thanks for your advice on that, will definitely look into PP again if I will make some tutorials on my channel.
Excellent tutorial, game is on the way and can’t wait to play with my son. I’ll be trying the app which I understand has slightly different rules but this was awesome for understanding and tutorial. Thanks again!! Subscribed. :)
Thanks for this, some time ago I looked around for some good Imperial Assault tutorials and not much out there which was surprising for such a popular Ameritrash game.
@@harsh-rules thanks just got the game today and I've been reading through the rules. Also it looks like only the heros are allowed to attack twice during a activation.
omg thank you for this. i just traded a bunch of ToyBiz marvel legends with comics still in their package. to get this, and 3 expansions, with 4 additional figures..and walked away oweing nothing...but my toys were worth a ton...but i got this, expansion, figures...and 2 booster boxes of destiny cards...BUT THIS I NEEDED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY FOR FUN!! At the 37:00 when you move the 3rd trooper into place, can’t you use the squad training option since you’re next to another trooper or is that a specialty action?

Thanks, Jared. Another member at BGG caught this goof too.

Simply brilliant explanation! Thank you for your work!
This is great, thanks. We were trying to figure out how to play this with my family over Christmas, unsuccessfully. This helps a lot.
You without a doubt have the best tutorials dude. Respect
Thank you for making this. Was really easy to understand with the nice and slow pace. Others seem like gerbils jacked up on energy drinks and talk so fast that its hard to understand.
Brilliant tutorial - best I've seen. If you aren't on FFG's payroll - you should be!
Thanks for the praise. Appreciate it!
Watch at 2x speed though.

Excelent tutorial, I can easily understand it just by listening while at work, thanks for your dedication.

1.5 speed on this makes this so good
Mario Cortez I use x2. He rly speaks damn slow
@@waferjuicebecause he is literally providing a clear tutorial and people learn at different speeds

yes, fenn would blast himself, cause adjusted fields are diagonally aswell.
and the trooper can move twice, but shoot once.

Mane that's was funny. You explain this game very well, down to the speed points and shocks grenades.
When you moved the first stormtrooper, could you have moved again for your second action?
The best tutorial I have ever seen. Maybe you should cover other games :)
You are a savior my friend. Thank you!!!!
Impresive! Thank you for this great tutorial.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video, with only line-of-sight remaining as a topic shrouded in mist for me. ;)
What are you unclear about regarding line of sight?
I'm all good and fine now, after reading the Reference Rulebook (and especially the 2 appendices). Thanks!
Never stop doing these videos
Thx
Thats a great tutorial !

Amazing work!!
Can you perform the same type of action for a character twice per turn or do you have to use a different one of the 5 actions? Ie-attack, attack
You can perform the same actions twice with Characters.

Glad I could help!
Harsh can you do one of these for Mage Knight Ultimate Edition?!? Please!
Can imperial players use the rest action? None of the imperials seem to have endurance so they probably can't right?
extremely well communicated. Thank you
You're welcome, Russel.
error at 37:09 -- you draw from your character's corner, not their center. otherwise great video, though. thank goodness for 1.5x speed
OMG thank you so much!
They should use you to write the rulebook!
Liked instantly for the intro music 😁
Awesome job. Exactly what i needed to understand everything ibwas reading.
Very helpful tutorial. Highly recommend watching at 1.7x or 2x speed though. Very slow talker.
Awesome guide
thought at the lower player count you were suppose to get 2 activation tokens per character?
Jordan Dyksley That is correct I believe for everything except the tutorial.
Great stuff as always, keep up the good work. :)
If you get a recover but don’t have any strain, does that mean you heal 1 damage?
Yes. In this situation you can use recover to heal 1 damage.
At the 37:00 when you move the 3rd trooper into place, can’t you use the squad training option since you’re next to another trooper or is that a specialty action?
And add the extra die
I probably could've. Thanks for the catch!
Awesome tutorial, thank you.
Can a hero attack if they rested for one of their actions in an activation?
Good tutorial, thanks for the information!
This has sat in the box for over a year
awesome explanation, wow.
Great vid 👍

Good stuff, good game! Cheers
Too good to be true. Thank you Master.
This is a great video and very thought out, but my days you talk slow XD
