To show them the proper ways of magic, not the minor shit draw from a tantruming wayward angel but of the real power found in the worship of a goddess who has been with them all along. Its not that Hecate abandoned them its simply that she was waiting for someone anyone to find her again and when they did she was ready and willing to give them the love and comfort they had been denied for so long. In a way its almost like as if Zelda released Hecate from her cage, and now the world better sit back because mamas home.
