🍂 phd feels, seeing friends, salem trip, & language learning | 20s diaries

hey ya’ll, it’s been a minute since i’ve uploaded a vlog.
this fall has been a bit of a whirlwind. school started, and even though i’m not taking classes, i still have to go to campus once a week for seminar. despite making it to year 3, i’ve found myself feeling a bit strange about my phd experience as a whole. but, i’m trying to reframe everything and do what needs to be done to ensure that i finish without burning myself out completely.
despite my phd feels, i’ve been able to spend a lot of time with friends lately, which has felt really nice. i’m trying to be better about seeing friends, because i find that it really does lift my spirits a lot (plus it also gets my out of my apartment). kalen visited me recently and we (foolishly) decided to go to salem together. needless to say everything was booked and there were lines to simply get into regular costume stores, so we spent about an hour or so there before collectively deciding that salem wasn’t happening this year for us & leaving.
lastly, i’ve felt very inspired to take my language learning a bit more seriously. i find that i really do enjoy learning languages in my spare time & am excited at the way different languages unlock an almost entirely different way of thinking for me. i’m hopeful that i can keep up with everything as work, school, & life pick up.
